The tiny Fae had no idea where she was or how she got here, but she was determined to find out. Crawling along the forest floor, she made slow headway considering she stopped to study each brightly-colored flower or interesting-looking insect she spied. Eventually, however, she came across the most fascinating tree she'd ever seen. She couldn't explain why, even if she had been older and possessed a better vocabulary, but it was as if there was something special about this tree. Maybe it wasn't the tree itself, but it was as if there were something...inside it maybe? Toddling over the root system, she poked a bit at the trunk. There was a crack almost wide enough for her to fit her hand in...which she tried. Something WAS inside this tree! And she was going to find out what it was...one way or another...
Imagine her surprise when a door popped open in the tree's trunk. In fact, it startled her so much that she fell backwards, tumbling head over heels before landing square on her bum. She wasn't hurt though, and her curiosity overwhelmed any other feeling she may have had at that point. Eyes wide and sparkling with interest, she crawled forwards and into the doorway without a moment's hesitation.
Cabel yawned, stretching after he set down a bowl of fresh fruit by the water pitcher. Well, that was breakfast whenever Nienna decided to wake up. He'd let her sleep in this morning and had headed out not long ago to gather supplies. He assumed she was still asleep anyway...he hadn't seen her yet this morning, so he figured she was still in her room. The Fae was about to start cleaning up a bit when he heard a strange noise from above. As if someone had just opened the door at the top of the stairwell. Frowning, he scratched his head. Had Nienna gone out for something this morning afterall? He never imagined that anyone else could possibly open the door, let alone find it.
The little Fae girl, also known as Eudora, at least to herself, was busy at the moment carefully navigating the tricky stairs she'd found inside the doorway. There was something inside the tree! She knew it! Now, she just had to figure out what it was. So far, all she'd found were these silly stairs. They were taking her forever to climb down, but she was being careful. She'd tripped and fallen enough to know that falling hurt. Stairs could only make that worse, she reasoned. The bottom of the stairs was finally growing closer though and in moments she'd finally find out what else was in here!
It was NOT Nienna who emerged from the stairwell, Cabel was shocked to note, but a tiny Fae toddler! "What in Telrunya....?" he muttered, staring in shock for a moment before moving to meet the new arrival at the foot of the stairs. "Guardians...now where did you come from, little one?"

Nienna was indeed still in her room but she wasn't asleep anymore. Her body had woken her up the moment someone beside herself and Cabel enter the tree heading down towards her home. She was sitting up in her bed trying to figure out if the being was friend or foe from her family.
When they had told her she had nothing to worry about she slip from her bed heading itno the main room. Standing there she arch a brow looking down at the toddler. She look nothing like her or cabel, yet she was a fae much like them from what she could tell.
She was very cute though, at least she was to Nienna, but how she manage to find her home made the forest spirit even more curious. No one could find this place unless they were looking for someone who lived here.
Stepping up behind Cabel she lays her hand lightly on his shoulder "Who is she Cabel?"

Cabel was so thrown by the arrival of the toddler that he never even heard Nienna enter the room behind him. When she laid her hand on his shoulder, he nearly jumped out of his skin, letting out a rather surprised yelp in the process. Blushing profusely once he'd gotten ahold of himself, he decided that ignoring the incident was the best way to make it go away quickly. "Err...to be honest, I have no idea. I was going to ask if you knew her perhaps?"
Eudora simply sat herself down on the floor as if she belonged there and watched the two Fae that towered over her. The taller of the two made a funny noise. Clapping her hands, she decided she liked that one and crawled over to latch herself on to his leg.
"What the...?" Cabel blinked and glanced down, noticing his new ankle adornment. "Err...I'll take that as a sign that she's not here to see you then, dear?" If she wasn't here for Nienna, then where had the tiny Fae come from? And how in the world did she get in here?

Nienna jump back for a moment shocked by Cabel reaction to her touching his sjoulder. Chuckling she covers her mouth before shaking her head "No I'm sorry, but I don't know who this little one is." she was melting inside as she watch the little one. She was just too sweet not to want to watch.
Laughing she kneels down next to Cabel holding her arms out towards the child "I wonder if this child here for one of us. I mean only pae'il who are searching for us can get into my home." she was hopeing the little girl would allow her to hold her, she was beginning to think maybe the little one was meant to be here.
The guardians had a strange way of throwing things at pae'il, was this one of them?

Cabel lifted his foot experimentally, but the child continued to cling to his leg. Chuckling softly, he put his foot back down, a bemused expression on his face.
So that's how the tree's entrance worked. He'd wondered about the specifics. "I have no idea," he offered helpfully once more. He'd learned not to question some of the strange happenings on the isle. Afterall, his own 'birth' was unique enough; who knew WHAT the Guardians thought about?
Cabel leaned down, gently trying to pry the toddler off of his leg so that he could walk safely again. Mostly, he was afraid of losing his balance and stumbling while she was clinging to his leg like that.
It seemed there was no need for this action, however, as in moments, Eudora's attention turned to Nienna and she immediately released Cabel to crawl over to the teen Fae.
She wasted no time in scrambling into Nienna's lap, staring straight into her eyes with curiosity shining through. Seconds later, something else shiny caught her attention. Reaching up with her tiny hands, she batted at the pendant hanging from the female Fae's neck.
Still puzzled by the whole situation, Cabel couldn't hold back his laughter. "It seems she likes you too, dear. Glad to see I don't have two females fighting for all my attention," he teased, crouching by the two and watching the scene.

Holding the child Nienna giggles as her cuddles her close. Watching as the young fae play with her necklace she look up at Cabel "Oh Cabel, she so sweet. And she has good taste if she likes you." having the child in her lap felt natural, something that Nienna couldn't explain.
Lifting her hand Nienna ran it thought the child's hair, she wanted to protect this one. Make her feel like she belong. Looking at Cabel she moves carefully not to scare the young one as she stand. Holding Eudora seem to be natural to Nienna also.

Cabel chuckled softly as well, draping his arm around Nienna's shoulders as he looked down at the two of them. Something about the scene made it impossible for him to stop smiling.
"Well, I don't know about that...but she likes you too, so I'd call that good taste." He winked, leaning in to kiss Nienna's forehead. Then, he looked back to the toddler. "Now...what to do with you? I don't suppose you have anyone else looking after you, or else I'd have thought they would have followed you here. I know they'd be worried sick and looking for one so young at least." Frowning, he patted the small child's head. "Do you have a name at least, little one?"
Eudora liked this other one too. She held her and played with her hair. Grinning, she snuggled up to Nienna and closed her eyes while the older Pae'il talked. At Cabel's question, she turned to look at him with wide eyes, confused. Name? What was that? What did he mean by that word?

Nienna blushes alittle before she relaxes against Cabel. Part of her was hoping the child didn't have anyone looking for her. She didn't understand why, but she wanted this little one to have no family. Watching the look in the young one else she smiles alittle "I think you have her confused slightly." looking at the child she chuckles "What do you call yourself?" she was hoping she would understand that.

Ah, he should have known better. "Of course, my mistake." He shook his head then looked at the toddler again, placing his hand on his chest. "I'm Cabel. This is Nienna." Then he pointed at the child. "And you are...?"
She got it this time; the older one's explanation was unnecessary, but reaffirmed that she knew what they were asking now. Pointing to herself, she struggled to sound out her name, though what she really said was, "...dora."
"Dora? That's a pretty name," Cabel started to say.
The toddler shook her head vigorously. That wasn't right...that wasn't what she meant to say anyway. "...Eu...dora," she sounded out slowly.
"No, I'm Cabel." Obviously, someone was confused here.
For one so big, he wasn't smart, was he? Eudora shook her head again, growing exasperated with these silly Pae. "Eudora!" she said more forcefully, pointing to herself. He had to get it this time.
Okay, he'd just been corrected by a toddler. NOW Cabel felt silly. "Err...of course...Eudora. Sorry about that." And he thought he'd been blushing EARLIER!

Nienna chuckles as she leans forward brushing her lips over Cabel's blushing cheek. She like seeing him blush. Looking down at the child she holds her even closer "Eudora, such a pretty name for a pretty little fae. So who did you come to see?" making her way to the couch she settles down before allowing Eudore to sit in her lap.
She was hoping the little one didn't stumble in here by accident, that she was here for a reason.

Eudora seemed puzzled again as she cuddled up to the nice lady Fae. She wasn't puzzled on the answer to the question this time...but more in how she was going to answer it. She understood the others well enough, most times at least...but she wasn't versed in answering for herself. The only word she'd ever managed to say out loud was her name. She knew the words, but could she form them and make herself understood?
Still trying to force the blush from his face, Cabel followed along and joined the females on the couch. This was an interesting little girl; that much was certain. But how did she end up here? The though still disturbed him a bit.
"...ind...Find...ee." She shook her head; this was harder than it seemed. "Find...tree," she managed, speaking slowly and thinking her way through the words before attempting to say them. "...omething in 'ree. Eudora knows it." She nodded enthusiastically, emphasizing her point. "Dunno what. Just 'omething. Had to know what. So, Eudora find crack...door open and Eudora come see." She spread her arms wide. "Now, Eudora here."

Nienna moves alittle so she was relaxing against Cabel. Listening to Eudora she smiles seeing the young on picking up the words rather quickly. Nodding she points to herself then Cabel "Who do you feel drew you here? Me or Cabel?" she knew the child was here for one of them, it didn't matter who.
She had a feelign the young one was here to stay, which she wanted. She was so cute and if she needed a place why not here? She would protect Eudora just like she would any other child.

Eudora looked back and forth between the two for a long time, seeming to think rather seriously about the situation. Then, she pointed a chubby hand at Cabel, grinning. "He's funny! I like him!"
Shaking his head and unsure whether to be embarrassed or amused, Cabel just chuckled. "Well...she did cling to my leg at first..." he started to say.
Eudora continued though. "But I like you too now. You're nice!" She grinned, turning back and cuddling up to Nienna.
Unable to wipe the smile off of his face, Cabel laughed and looped an arm around Nienna. "I think we have our answer. Well, sorta'. Anyway, I think the question now is...what do we do with her now?"

Nienna hugs the child close as she turns slightly to look at Cabel "Can't she stay here with us? I mean this is your home as much as it is mine. You have say here also. And she did manage to get down here. Please?" looking down at Eudore she already felt herself growing attach to the little one.
She didn't understand these feelings that were going through. She wanted so much to protect this child. It was strange but having her here made this place even feel more complete.

Frowning, Cabel realized that something about this whole situation made him feel a touch uncomfortable. But at the same time...there was a small warm feeling growing slowly deep inside his heart. It swelled every time he looked at Nienna cradling the small toddler in her arms so lovingly and protectively. Sighing, he shook his head slightly, muttering mostly to himself in hopelessness, "I don't know..."
Eudora squirmed out of Nienna's grasp with difficulty and scrambled into Cabel's lap. Clinging to his waist, her large eyes closed, she repeated a single muffled word, "...stay."
Cabel's brow furrowed, his chest feeling tight. "How could I possibly say no?" Eyes closed as well, he tightened one arm around Nienna's shoulders as he looped the other around the tiny toddler carefully. Even as he imagined the warmth of the cozy scene, some small part of his mind couldn't help but wonder, 'What exactly have I gotten myself into THIS time?'
