Gareth was standing in one of the various rooms that had no use. He'd put some mats down on the floor for this class, since he'd been told he'd be teaching some girl how to fight. First off, he wasn't keen on the whole girls-fighting thing. And secondly... He was way too old for this. He'd retired from teaching years ago. "Only Dr. Smith could talk me into this..." Gareth muttered, hoping his pupil was on time.

She was going to get to learn how to fight! Reign happily skipped down the hallway to where she'd been told her class was going to be held. She held a slip of paper up, then glanced at the room number. "This is it!" She happily told herself, opening the door to spot an elderly, scarred man.
"Hello. I'm Reign. I'm here for my class..."

The first thought that went through Gareth's head was "What the...?!?!" He was teaching some girl in a FRILLY DRESS!! The man recovered his composure and nodded. "Yes, yes. Come on in. Dr. Smith said you were learning how to use daggers?" The man had also told Gareth about her tail. That would be interesting to teach.

Reign nodded. "Yes, I've been practicing with daggers." She pointed to where the weapons were strapped at her sides. "And I can use my tail to hold one as well," she added, waving her furry tail at the man.

Gareth nodded. "Dr. Smith had said something about your tail." He thought for a moment. "So you can hold a dagger in it? Without your tail hurting or tiring? That would be a good technique, using the dagger in your tail to catch your opponent offguard..."
"Anyways. Come over onto the mats here. I'll see how well you can do in a practice sparring match. Since we don't want to get hurt, I've got some dulled daggers here. They're the same weight as your regular daggers, or should be close at least, but they haven't been sharpened, so it'll be difficult for either of us to be cut." He handed the girl three of the daggers out of the box before taking two himself.
"Start whenever you're ready."

Reign nodded in answer to the man's question, then stepped over to where he was standing on the mats. She took the practice daggers he offered her, reaching back with one hand and forward with her tail to place one in the grasp of her tail. She got a comfortable grasp on the other two in her hands and took a couple of steps back to make some room for them. She raised her arms and bent her knees, ready to start.
When the man said to start whenever she was ready, she quickly jabbed out with her right arm.

Gareth easily blocked the dagger with one of his own. "Good, good. Keep it up." He encouraged the girl, making a swipe of his own at her.

Reign gave a small smile at the encouragement and dodged to the side to avoid the teacher's attack. Then, she swung with both arms several times before suddenly whipping her tail around. She hoped to catch the man offguard with her tail attack.

Clank. The dagger was blocked by one of the man's own. "Good, good. You tried to get me to forget that you could use your tail. Most of your opponents won't know of it and keeping them distracted with a barrage of attacks while swinging in with your tail is a good tactic."
The man backed up a couple of steps. "Hmm... trying moving around some more. Use your feet. Trying backing me into a corner."

Reign lowered her arms as the teacher stepped back to talk some. Use her feet... okay, she could do that. She nodded at the goal set out for her to try and she raised her arms up once again. He had figured out exactly what her plans were. Well, he was the teacher...

Gareth nodded, raising his own arms up to be ready. "Remember, move your feet and try and get me backed into a corner..." He reminded Reign as he prepared himself.

Reign nodded, then started attacking once again. She stepped forward after a few swings, hoping to make the teacher step back. She wasn't too sure if she could make him lose ground, but she'd try.

Gareth sidestepped as Reign moved forward. "Good, good. Keep it up. You've gotta make me back up. I can sidestep right now. You have to make it where I can't."

Reign frowned as the teacher stepped to the side. She decided to move more at an angle than just straight forward. Her tail flicked about on her side to discorage a repeat of what had just happened.
