Nkechi smiled as she gazed out at the ocean, her green eyes alight with wonder. It never ceased, her amazement at this great body of water. It just seemed to unreal, so magical. She sat upon a small hill near the shore, an area still covered in loose, hardy grasses before they faded into a landscape of sand. The graveyard and her terrors seemed a world away when she was out here. And she couldn't ask for anything more.
She heard the cry of gulls and looked up with a smile. She couldn't help but giggle at their silly calls. They were like no other bird she had heard before.

Juke was growing rather fond of the ocean. He had slipped away from Muujiza today to investigate the beach a bit more, wanting to learn everything he could about it by observation. He enjoyed the green lioness's company, that was for certain; but he also had been with her for a very long time now, and felt like he should have a little time away. What better place than where the land stops and the never ending water begins? He padded over the rough seaside grasses slowly, taking in the rhythms the tide scent washing over him. His paws touched sand, such a nice feel, and he closed his eyes for better hearing. Taking in the salty smell, he exhaled slowly, swishing his tail to the music that was all about him. It was so different from the rogue lands and the savannah, this tune. So much more... there wasn't even a word for it. Whatever it was, he was growing more and more in love with it and the place every moment.
Turning around to get a better feel for his surroundings, he noticed a splotched lioness perched comfortably in the grass. Was she a pride member? Meeting someone who was actually a full member would be quite the treat, and he couldn't help himself. Slowly, as to not make himself a threat, he padded over the sands to the green eyed female, sending out a soft grunt to let his presence be known. He surely meant her no harm, and was immensely curious about her and the pride. She might even know the leaders. Trying to calm his growing excitement, Juke made his way into the grass and sat a few paces away from the lioness, a slight grin on his features. "Morning."

Nkechi had been so caught up in her own thoughts that she didn't notice anyone coming. Not that she would have normally-she wasn't very attentive. So she jumped a little, startled, but her surprise was quickly replace by a bright, warm smile. Ohh~! She didn't remember seeing him before! But she had never been wary of other lions and that certainly wasn't going to start now where she felt safe and secure.
"Oh! Hello!" she chriped with energy, obviously cheerful at the prospect of meeting someone new.

Well, wasn't that a relief. The lioness was perfectly cheery, and not at all on the defense for her pride. She must've thought he meant no harm, which was especially good because he didn't. Scooting closer to her, he sat himself down in the grass and smiled brightly. If the rest of the pride was like her, he and Muujiza had certainly found the right place. Such wonderful terrain and nice members made for the perfect atmosphere. It was a wonder all rogues hadn't joined the group yet! "I'm guessing your a member of the pride here? A friend of mine and myself are hoping to join." He looked out at the slow tide with a lionish grin. He was deffinatley liking it here. "My name's Juke." It wasn't often that he gave away his name so quickly to strangers, but this was an exception. He had to meet some of the pride members if he was ever going to join, and this particular lioness seemed like an excellent start.

Nkechi looked at him with wide, innocent eyes as he talked, looking a little clueless for a moment. But then that seemed to pass and she was right back to smiling again, like sunshine that kept breaking back through the clouds. "Ohhh yes! I am!" she chimed sweetly, "I'm Nkechi! It's very nice to meet you!" Wow, more people were joining? How exciting! She already knew some of the royals here...but she really hadn't seen many others. It was thrilling to know there weren't only a few of them.

Juke couldn't help but get the feeling that the lioness was on the spacey side, and it quickly reminded him of his Muujiza. Perhaps it was a lioness thing? Or maybe Nkechi and Muujiza were a rare thing. Two spaced out lions in a single pride... what were the odds? "Pleasure's all mine, Nkechi." He bowed his head kindly, but was quickly growing excited. She was a member of the pride! Wasn't that some luck? So far, Muujiza and he had only come across one other lioness, and she had said she had yet to be excepted into the pride. Meeting a lion who was actually on the inside was like... seeing a flower in the middle of the cracked savannah. Maybe not as incredible, but it was closed to it. "It must be a lovely pride that lives in such a beautiful place..." His voice trailed off as he looked back out at the rolling tides, bobbing his head lightly to the music it gave off.

Nkechi nodded cheerfully. She didn't know that he was excited that she was in the pride or anything. She was just happy to meet someone else. But, to be honest, she fully agreed with him. After living in the graveyard almost all her life it wasn't any wonder, really. This place was paradise compared to that. But then...any place could be paradise, as long as Noari was with her.
"Mm hm!" she agreed verbally, "It's wonderful here! I don't think I'll ever leave."

As he waited for a reply, Juke let his mind wander out over the waves, out over the deep blue. It was hypnotising, watching the foam crinkle as it rushed towards land. He had learned this flying trick from a friend of his out in the rougelands, a wild dog that was as kind as could be. He smiled to himself, humming softly along with the calming tune of the ocean, his tail thudding in time. He almost didn't hear Nkechi's comment. At first, it was a soft solo, meshing with the music Juke was so absorbed in. Slowly, however, words began to form, and the blue lion was brought back from his flight with the gulls to the rough beach grasses and the spotted lioness beside him. "It really is wonderful. Muujiza and I are glad we wandered so far. Life will be nice here..." He trailed off again, closing his eyes and breathing in the salty air deeply. Little green cubs danced before his eyes, mimicing the exotic movements of the seaweed on the ocean's floor. "Are there any little ones in the pride?"

"Ohhh, there's someone with you?" She chirped with a bright look and a smile. That was so wonderful! The more the merrier, right? She certainly thought so! She tilted her head slightly at his question and nodded swiftly, "Yes! There are the princes and princesses...and...I think another mother has little ones here...and me and Noari are having babies!" She felt herself flush with excitement at the last statement. Noari had gone over it with her not long ago and it was just so exciting, even if she didn't understand all of it.

"Yes, there is." He smiled warmly, very glad that he had not come alone. The place really did seem grand, but it would be a tad lonely without someone he had known back in the roguelands. The mention of cubs in the pride was a bit exciting, though a bit unnerving as well. juke had never interacted with cubs much, only a couple of juveniles here or there. He was sure he would like cubs, but he wasn't sure he would know what to do with them. "Oh, you're expecting? Congrats!" His grin widened at that, and he was sure that Nkechi would make a fine mother. "That must be exciting." By the time Muujiza and he had joined the pride, she would've probablley given birth. That should deffiantley be interesting.
