The dark wolf moved through the trees with ease, for she knew this area well. She ventured here frequently with her 'brother' Maverick whenever they had a moment to spend some quality time together. She smiled softly to herself at the thought of her 'brother' she cared dearly for him and was glad to be a part of his pack. The pack was exactly why she was out here actually.
Maverick had asked her to go and get another member of the pack and escort him to their dens. She didn't question him, for she knew he was busy with getting his pack together, but what did bother her was the look upon of his face as he asked her. He had been smiling gently, and yet knowingly as he told her where to go. What was he up to?

After his bro, his own flesh and blood, Darius had given him a slightly cold shoulder when he had gotten flustered and frustrated with Hallie and her antics, Leith wandered mindlessly from the packlands and began trailing up into the unknown territory. His paws dragged with no zest upon the snow, head hanging low as his blue and green eyes fell upon the ground as there was nothing else of great interest to look at. Although the blame didn't rest upon his shoulders for what happened between his brother and the wolfess, Hallie, Leith couldn't help but feel guilty and the cause of it. The white and gold swirled male loved his brother dearly, just as much as he loved the rest of his siblings, but he loathed when someone had a problem with him or was angry at him. The adolescent was a tender hearted gentlemen who only wanted to make things better.
Venturing off alone was one of the better ideas he had come up with after the incident and he needed time alone.
Drifting like a ghost, Leith aimbled carelessly through the woods snaking around trees and leaping across the countless rivers that ran through the land. Where was he? He occassionally glanced upwards to see the towering pines and the hidden, seclusive hideaways created by the thick vegetation and dens that were carved and worn into the hillside by nature and thousands of years yet, still, he was rather puzzled as to why he had never ventured this far before.
Damu had always been strict about where he was allotted to venture towards but perhaps this was the benefit of adulthood- well, almost an adult.
Picking his head upwards and focusing straight ahead of him, a small smile curled upon the males maw as his tail slowly began to wag. "Maybe this is the begining of something new," he thought, reassuring himself that there were better things awaiting him.
"Maybe I can just start over."

With a sigh, Kirra sniffed the paw prints in the snow before her. She was very good at tracking and rarely lost what she was following, but nevertheless, when her 'prey' was moving away from her, it did get on her nerves. This guy was going to wrong way, or perhaps he had merely forgotten and lost track of himself. By the looks of his prints he seemed to just be meandering about and wasn't too far away.
A puff of air snaked out from her jaws as she took off after the wolf. The young wolf's eyes darted about as she sprinted through the trees barely making a sound as she landed and the depth of the snow barely affecting her speed. She was used to this, and knew very well where she could and could not step.
Suddenly she heard a noise to her right, a tree snapping to be exact. She instantly stopped, twirling toward the noise, one of her front paws poised in mid-air in case she needed to take flight again. Whether or not she found this other wolf was not her concern if her life came into danger, but she did dislike the idea of having to give up on her little chase.
Soon she saw a flash of movement, and her muscled instantly tensed, blood rushing to her ears as her adrenaline rushed through her veins. Her anxiety was soon gone as she saw that the creator of the noise was nothing more than a fox, and she was off again, but wait, had she already lost sight of those tracks?
She cursed silently and began to trot back toward what she figured to be the right way after the other wolf, and before she knew it he was smack dab in front of her, much to her muzzle's chagrin as it slammed into the other wolf's side.

Rather than letting his brother sour his mood and put him in a bitter bind, Leith curled a grin upon his maw and began wandering deeper within the territory. There was no sense in letting the kerfuffle and incident between Darius and Hallie get him down and, truthfully, the white and gold swirled male needed some decent amount of time alone to focus and center his thoughts on what he wanted. Being out by himself was always a necesary 'must' on his list of things to do whenever he got the chance. And today was his day.
Perhaps he would be able to stumble upon a beautiful wolfess, take his time to get to know her and not feel so hassled in trying to sweep her off her feet with sweet talk and jargon that could make a wolf's head spin. Darius seemed more forward and unafraid of the opposite sex but, as for Leith, he was more of a gentlemen yet had his spurts of wit and cunning comments that could make a wolfess blush.
Padding with livelier steps as his tail swayed estatically behind him, Leith smiled. "This is what I need," he remarked as he aimlessly drew towards a small clearing, "someplace where I can run away to ever so often."
Nodding his head as the idea seemed more than pleasing, a strange sensation seemed to wash over him. Instinctively, the young male turned around. Was someone following him? Or was someone following him? Knitting his brows slightly, the white and gold swirled male pursed his lips and simply shrugged his shoulders. "Must have been my imagination," he chuckled softly as he continued towards his 'Destination: Anywhere'. But just as he took a few more steps but the same strange sensations eemed to wash over him again.
But this time there was footfall.
Pivoting quickly back around, Leith's green and blue eyes widened as something seemed to be charging towards him. As it got closer, he felt as if his breath was wisked away.
It was a wolfess.
Unable to move and standing slightly dumbfounded, he watched almost helplessly as she collided into his side with her muzzle. With the impact, Leith toppled over, rolling to the side and sprawling out in a strange, awkward position.
"Ow..." he laughed, unable to really blame anyone for the collision. Staggering up to his feet, he smiled warmly as he padded towards the wolfess. "Oh, I'm so sorry Miss. Didn't mean to get in your way," he softly spoke. "Are you alright?"

"Fine," was all Kirra muttered as she shook her head clear. She moved away from the other wolf to a safe distance to keep an eye on him and the keep an eye out for the tracks she had been following. She huffed a heavy sigh, frustrated that they seemed to have disappeared in their tussle, or had they?
She suddenly turned all her attention on the other wolf, her emerald eyes taking in the pure white fur and the golden swirls that danced across his fur. She noted how similar he was to her in a sense, perhaps inverted, but similar nevertheless.
" What's your name," short, simple and to the point. Kirra wasn't fond of beating around the bush, and was especially wanting to finish this mini quest that her brother had sent her on.

Amusing.
He smiled, settling down upon his haunches and letting his tail thump upon the snow ground as he tilted his head at a slight angle. As both his green and blue eye drifted across he, Leith couldn't help but smile. She reminded him alot of his father's pattern upon his fur except in a reverse order of black swirls on white. Even stranger was seeing that they had the same swirl designs yet different colors and, really now, what were the chances of that?
"I'm Leith," he calmly spoke, a serene tranquil emotion invoked within his voice. "I'm not from around here, well- kind of. My family lives in the packlands just North of here." Shifting his forepaws within the snow, he took his time as there was no rush in bombarding her in questions or any sort of hassle. "And who might you be?"

She barely listened to him explain himself, for she didn't really care. All she needed to know was his name, and that was Leith. Was that who Maverick had been told about? She frowned in thought then began to pace as she became antsy. She never liked holding still for too long.
" Father Damu? Mother unknown to us..." she thought aloud, yet left it open for him to respond to. Maverick had met Damu's brother, Jaxom, when he was much, much younger, and yet he had somehow kept his ear to the ground about this wolf's family lineage. Her brother's knowledge dumbfounded her sometimes.
At the question of her name she paused, wondering if she should offer it to him, or keep it to herself. No harm in letting him know her name if she were to petition pack hood to him. " Kirra," she stated.

His eyes slightly widened as the female spoke. How did she know about his father, Damu? And what did she mean by 'us'? Leith's maw gaped open slightly as he stammered his right forepaw, "Yeah, Damu's my dad and my mom is Taima," he spoke in a slightly bewildered and hesitant manner. Who was she and what did she want?
His ears perked up slightly just as a warm smile trailed across his maw. "Kirra," Leith let the name roll off his tounge in a smooth manner, liking its sound, "a pleasure."
Though he still hadn't satisfied his need to decipher what exactly she wanted or how he knew his family, Leith knitted his brows and flicked his tail. "So how do you know my Dad? Do you want something from me or are you looking for Darius?" He couldn't help questioning it; ususally the females were searching for his brother and rarely did they want anything to do with him.
"How can I help you?"

" Your brother is no concern of ours." When it was pack business she spoke oddly, as if the other person she spoke of was beside her. She only spoke this way because she figured if she said "mine," then people would make the mistake of her being Alpha, and she wasn't that. That would be somewhat an awkward moment.
" Taima, I shall remember that." Kirra watched Leith carefully before continuing. " My 'brother' knows a lot of your family. But mainly of your uncle Jaxom. A bit of a wish to know what became of the wolf he knew as a pup." She shrugged, not knowing what else to say about that without making him feel like her 'brother' was stalking him or something. She sat down suddenly, a very serious and professional look upon her.
" We offer an entry into our pack," she paused, replaying Maverick's words in her mind. "I am here merely to ask, then escort you if you accept, or wish to speak with my 'brother.'" She paused again then nodded her head, content that she had been brief, yet descriptive enough to be understood.
" A pack of loners, wanders, and ones searching for a home to call their own, is offered from the Shadowsong Pack."

Hearing that his brother was not even a concern to them made him a bit flustered yet he realized moreso that this wasn't about Darius. His tail swayed behind him in a curious and intriuged manner as he felt himself becoming restless with building anticipation. What was Kirra gettng at?
"Your brother? Wait- do I know your brother?" Her next question caught him off guard as a small frown slid across his maw in a rather bitter display. "Jaxom! What? He's a beta with the Tian Tang pack and we haven't heard from him since he and my Dad got in a huge fight even before I was born." This was weird. Where was Darius when you needed him? Leith snorted a rather sharp breath as his ears flickered back against his skull. From what his father had said about why he and Taima had cut off communication with Jaxom never did settle well; when Damu and Jaxom got in a fight, Jaxom had injured Taima and any male who disrespected Leith's mother would have to face Damu.
"For all we know he could be dead," he hackled slightly, the thought of his uncle never settling well with him but, truthfully, he was judging him harshly even without meeting the male, "but I doubt it. There are rumors saying that he has found a mate and still presides as the packs beta."
It was her next commented that left his maw gaping open and relatively speechles and Leith stood there, not sure what to do or say. Everything seemed to be happening so fast and all at once!
"Pack? Accept entry?" The words seemed to boggle his mind as his eyes hesitantly searched around for some way to weasle out of this. "I- well, you see..." he stalled. Slumping his shoulders and sighing softly, the young adolescent hung his head and bite his lower lip. This was a chance to break away from his life, to find freedom! But was he ready to do that so quickly?
Leveling his two-toned eyes with those of Kirra, Leith warmly smiled as best he could. "Can you take me to see your brother? I'd like to talk to him first."

Kirra barely reacted to Leith's sudden aggression at the mention of his uncle. Maverick had warned her about the deep settled hatred that seemed to live within that family. But then again, not much fazed Kirra.
Leith's stammering and then question to meet Maverick had not surprised her, and with a small nod, she stood.
" I'm fast," was all she said before taking off, following her own tracks back home. A small smirk played across her face as she sprinted quickly between the trees, for she wondered how long or how short, it would take for him to catch up and keep up. This was her territory.

Just as the young male began to open his maw and question her, Leith's eyes widened and his maw practically dropped as the wolfess took off. Kniting his brows as he sighed, the white and gold swirled male rolled his eyes yet all the while a sly smirk crept upon his maw.
"We'll see," he mused softly with a lighthearted chuckle as he crouched low, belly sinking towards the snow, and suddenly leapt forwards. His forepaws outstretched before him as he lunged quickly in desperation to catch up. Though unlike his father, Leith didn't have too much bulk and was lithe and sleek; proportioned with a balance in strength and speed. Weaving through the trees and staying hot on her trail, the young adult began pulling just behind her and darted towards the left.
"I'm not that slow," he chuckled, his blue and green eyes glancing aside towards the black and white swirled female with a mischievious grin.
Pulling in towards her with a tight angle, Leith mused softly to himself as he ran alongside Kirra. There was something about her that struck his fancy- something that the male couldn't put his paw on. No doubt Kirra was beautiful and excelled in speed.
Leith was really starting to like her and the idea of joining her pack seemed better and better.

Kirra smirked as she caught sight of the white wolf beside her. He was fast and it seemed he was easily keeping up with her. For now.
" I see that," she said. He was being boastful, and for all she knew he had the right to boast. However, guessing that he had the right to boast was not as fun as testing it.
A small laugh escaped her muzzle as she tensed her muscles, pushing herself harder, bursting into a new level of speed. She had let him catch up before, now she would see if he could handle it, even Maverick was surprised by her speed. She took off, veering away from Leith and darting into a tighter grouping of trees. Dashing between the trees seemed like nothing to her, as if she was now a fluid form.

"So how about we-" his speech seemed to veer to a halt as the wolfess bounded off again but, this time, with speeds that were fast and, perhaps, a bit too fast. Furrowing his brows, Leith bit his lower lip.
"Again?"
Shrugging his shoulders as a small sigh drew from his maw, the white and gold swirled male continued running while tension built up behind his back legs and within his muscles. Kirra was fast, no doubt, and Leith would certainly have to push himself to catch up to her. Focusing, Leith leapt with his forepaws outstretched far before him and began lunging in great strides to catch the female before him.
He could feel his paws sweeping across the freshly powdered snow beneath him, almost as if he was flying as the sensation of weightlessness seemed to overtake his senses. Twisting through the tightly clustered trees as he manueverd within and around them, Leith panted as his tounge seemed to loll out merrily from his maw. Running was a passion of his, especially when his was running nowhere in praticaular or, in this case, pursuing a female. Pushing himself further and conjuring all the strength he could muster, Leith pulled up behind her and waited for an opportuntity to move in closer.
"She's really fast," he remarked under his breath. "Too fast."

Listening to her pursuer's steps, Kirra grinned to herself. Was she flirting? Perhaps, in her own odd sort of way she might have been. Usually she would just stick to her plan, and keep up with them, making sure they never lost her. But then again, that was when she was escorting her brother to the den she had found for their new pack.
She figured she had made her point and slowed down, much to her own chagrin for she loved the howling noise of the wind as she narrowly missed a tree or a bush. It was very hypnotic, and now was deffiantly not a time to be lost in the trance of a good run.
As she felt the other wolf's presence beside her she looked back at him quickly, "What were you saying before?"
