(After a bitter confrontation at the Houka palace where the outcome was all to clear, the stalemate causing losses to both sides, shadowed in the death of Duke Vermillion Lord Toleranth's return made no more an effect then a ripple from a pea dropped in water. However for the numbers he now leads from the force sent to extract vengence upon the annhilation of Domachi. Lord toleranth forms a resistance from this army of a mere 12,000, still not enough for a direct attack, they wait hidden from the world above. Anticipating the day they can all go home. There story begins now at the end of a comrades life.)

Toleranth let the messenger return to his duties and turned to face the party he brought from the castle.

"Vermillion is dead, he gave his life to ensure our escape, but i fear it is only a matter of time before they find this place as well. There is no more time for discussion, the truths are self evident, the price laid out before you for failure, but reguardless of your choices I'll continue to fight Loas."

Tolly didn't bother to gather their current state of emotion through body language. However he elected to move to another point of business; "Shavas, when you have a moment I need to speak with you, alone, and it is very important. If You'll excuse me I'll leave you a bit to settle in. There is someone on the way with refreshments."

Tolly returned to speaking witha few others, keeping his voice down to not give much of the topic away, but not in a method that would support suspicions.

Rae was still shaken up from what she witnessed happen. She barely heard what Lord Toleranth had said, just standing there. Her eyes were closed as she played back the events. None of this had to do with her. She sighed silently, her legs giving in. Now she was seated on the floor, on her knees. She didn't really care that she was on the floor. Before all of this, my life had been normal, and pretty much boring...I liked it that way...I never complained... Moving hair strands behind her ears, she looked up at everyone there. From where she was, she was farther away from everyone, the wall close behind her. I suppose it comes with being an advisor to the Queen. Finally, she regained her senses and stood slowly, brushing herself off and standing there, very still, almost like she was not real.

((Woot! I think this is my longest post yet! ...How sad... sweatdrop ))

(S'okay, the body may feel better, but the mind takes awhile to get better.)

A messenger ran up to Toleranth; "Reports from Defense sect, Hits on the barrier, so far no verifiable proof of discovery, however filed squadrons requestiong we go to a high alert status."

Toleranth nodded; "Alright, get everyone where they belong and report back their status to me, get lost, the rest of you get lost as well."

The dragons moved out, others were moving allot faster and the cavern seemed to get empty and the volume level dropped to near silence.

Tolly turned around and looked at his guests; "Alright the situation has changed, we can talk here, or down in some temple ruins we've discovered. I've been using them as a field base recently."

(hopefully this helps your plot a bit spoof.)

Shrinking into a reasonably unoccupied corner, Shavas let out a long breath. Furious with herself for being so incompetant and losing valuable time. Vermillion's powerful illusions left her mind rattled, and his sudden death was nothing less than shocking.

With everything that had just occured, she had barely noted the fact that the Lord Toleranth was standing in this very chamber. The Lord Toleranth that was supposed to have died.

Hearing Laos's voice once again had stirred up dark memories, memories of bodies littering the ground like piles of leaves. And her own racous laughter echoing above the screaming, and sobbing of innocent people fleeing for their lives in her wake.

Silent tears trailed down her cheeks.
The shock of Vermillion's death left her reeling. Lord Toleranth had returned. That much had registered, and was a brief beacon of hope through her veil of despair over the loss of a friend.

Shavas had retreated to a shadowy corner where she sat.
Nadira followed after a moments hesitation.
There was a creak of leather as Shavas shifted over to make room, but otherwise the woman remained silent.
Shavas's attire still seemed strange to the sheltered young woman, who had lived her life far from the looming shadows of the infamous mage towers. The sorceress was clothed from head to toe in black leather that fit like a glove, and odd colors undulated across two wing shaped protrusions on her shoulder blades, and across her pleated coattails.
Golden eyes glared down at her thoughtless scrutiny.
The whole affect was rather intimidating.

Shavas looked to be in her late twenties at most, and yet she was a mother and head of the black mage tower that hadn't been seen even once since her death.

Idly, she wondered if the old war had been as bad as this one was turning out to be.

Toleranth shook his head, he didn't know what was wrong with this group, and granted the shock of recent events maybe hadn't worn off. Maybe his appearance was part of the problem, and so Toleranth shifted to a human form. He approached the one that Vermillion was the closest to.

"Nadira, Shavas, vermillion is gone, and I haven't been around enough to provide any kind of leadership. Maybe in time i can, but if you don't help me understand where Vermillion left off I won't be of any help to anyone here.

Shavas, that symbol on your neck, did vermillion explain it to you, and do you understand why it is slowly changing color?"

Rae turned her head to look at the three, then scanned the room. She felt more like a child than she had ever before in her entire life. So naive. So incompetant. Se could do nothing. Worthlessness settled in, but on the outside, Rae looked the same; strong and secure. She listened to what was being said, trying to put pieces together, which, overall, was her best quality.

Lyra looked around herself. Where first her palace had been, then...something else (an illusion?), her palace once again, and now this cavern. Shaking her head to clear it of the confusing thoughts she looked to her advisers, she could sense that both of them were shaken up from the ordeal.

She walked over towards them and, showing a rare compassion said, "Rae, Ayame, are you two feeling okay?"

Tsuki looked at Shavas and sighed. She could tell that Shavas was having a hard time with the things Laos had made them do while they were his slaves. She walked over to Shavas and sat on the opposite side from Nadira, offering a silent comfort.

Ankhe was confused. She didn't understand what had happened, it had been so fast. First they were about to go stop an intruder, then next thing she knew everything had gone straight to hell...

Kanashi glanced around, not really sure what had just happened. He held a short knife in his hand that he must have pulled out at some time during the fight, but he couldn't remember when. He had never faced a full-fledged demon before, nor had he seen someone of such high caliber do battle. He quickly resheathed the short blade and looked around at the others, running his hand through his hair. He had had a headache ever since that force had shaken the throne room, it seemed to be intensifying at the slightest disturbances...not that Laos taking control of the world and Vermillion creating an epic battle were slight...

Rae still had her eyes closed, then finished her last thought, opening her eyes. Then, she looked at Queen Lyra."I am fine, my lady. Though still a little shaken up." She looked at Ayame, wondering what she was thinking about this.

Ayame, despite all that had happened, still kept her head together. Her mind was simply focused on her current task- the peace treaty. She looked to Lyra and nodded her head, bowing a bit as she nodded. "I'm fine, thank you." Ayame spoke with a disturbingly calm voice, as if nothing had ever happened, as if the entire time they were just standing there, and there was no disturbance. She had been only a few steps away from Rae the entire time, just in case she ever needed to ask her what she was thinking, or if she would do the same. Sensing Rae's glance upon her, she turned her head smiling with confidence to her fellow advisor. "I guess i would be a little shaken too." She laughed softly to herself, "It's just.. my mind was so focused; it was like i was never even here." And in a way, she wasn't. Her mind was on the treaty the whole time, and on other subjects as well, that she was just.. there, and yet, she wasn't. She smiled at Rae, and spoke in a soft low voice, "So, have you thought of anything?"

(Gaah I have w/b sooo bad T-T)

Shavas sat down off to the side.
She squeezed her eyes shut, attempting to stem the flow of horrific images.
Most of them were from earlier today, although a few were from back when she willing served under Laos and provided him with all the knowledge he needed to take over from the records kept deep within the dark mage tower's stone walls.

The soles of her boots were soaked with the blood of the innocent, but foolis men who had tried to stop her advance. Her tangled hair was alot redder than usual, and there was dried blood caught under her fingernails.

She shivered, repulsed with herself. Repulsed of the incredible power she had once lusted for, and then used to kill millions of men and woman alike. Whether it was directly by her own hand, or indirectly from the knowledge she had granted Laos in return for the evil magic. It was always there, shrouding her innerself in a repulsive, writhing veil. It constantly gnawed at the magical barrier she had produced to protect her pure gift and true self.

"No. All he said was not to remove it, or it would kill me."

She rubbed her neck absently, the rune was tingling a bit.

(Eww that was bad, but ah well.)

Toleranth chuckled a bit; "Sounds like him, but that was for your protection. You were safer in ingnorance, rather then the truth, because you might have stopped him knowing to much. The amount of energy required to destroy the collar of Loas is almost that of his life. So When Vermillion broke that collar, he knew his life was over, but noble deaths are rare. When vermillion came to work for me, it was shortly after Loas's demise, I set the task of clearing up the details of that time period to him, and I have no doubt your name came across once or twice. Obviously you were dead, i read the report myself, but you could only imagine his surprise when he faced you at Houka Palace."

Tolly sat down in front of Shavas.

"Truth fo the matter is, that mark is the mark of a companion, He merely supressed the mental connection so you wouldn't notice. Now being a companion entitles you to the abilites of each, a sign of this event taking place is a small blue flame burning to the side of the space occupided by both. However the pretext is boring, however how this affects you is his death being noble, and that entitles you to a wish on his soul."

A wish on a dragons soul is boundless except by three wishes. You cannot make someone die, you cannot bring someone to life, and you cannot wish yourself divinity. I'm leaving the choice to you, but when your ready to make it. Simply touch that mark and make it."

Tolly stood back up; "If you need anymore help I'll be down at the temple figuring out my next move. just follow the path down."

Tolly started downt he path leaving them where they sat to chase the ghosts away that plagued them
