It was a beautiful day, and it seemed the weather was decent no matter where one was that day. Mtima'safi had made a rather bold decision, and what was to take her son out exploring. For as long as she'd allowed her cubs to explore on their own, her son had tried to find everywhere in the Pridelands he could. Now that he knew she was a goddess, she decided to bring him along in one of her visits to other lands- something she'd done once in awhile since taking up residence in the Pridelands.

It hadn't been the easiest flight for her, and she didn't want to take away all of the hard, though enjoyable, parts of travelling for her son. That was why they were now on the ground and walking for awhile. They were headed in a familiar direction, nearing the Jungle where she'd heard the Umande'mfuni lions stayed. She'd enjoyed her last visit there, and thought it'd be a great change from the usual for Wahabu.

"You'll love it," she told him brightly.

The young lion had been shocked when his mother offered to take him flying, and visiting outside of the Pridelands. He was excited to be seeing what was beyond the borders he'd never really seen or known, but certainly never had gone beyond. He already found the scenery to be quite different from that of the Pridelands, and his eyes were held wide open as his head went from side to side trying to take it all in.

Wahabu did not mind walking, though he'd really enjoyed the flying. It'd gotten them so far so fast, but he could tell it wasn't exactly the safest way for him to travel. Not to mention, if he got much bigger he'd probably be too big. He figured that had something to do with why they travelled now.

"You think so, mama?" he asked in an excited, somewhat squeaky voice, "I didn't even imagine anything like this! How much more different can it be?"

Kimaria, still uneasy about the overall familiarity of the Umande'mfuni pride had remained just outside the borders, still on the rogue lands enough to not start up a riot from the others. From what her mother had told her, she expected the lands to be beautiful and expected not what she saw. Something about the lands was captivating. So used to rough savannah and horrible terrain was Kimaria that the site of lions living with one another in a large pride, finding the best areas to make their homes almost seemed abstract. She longed to find a place for herself there, though was unsure if that would ever be possible.

Remaining where she was, the young lioness thought deep on the issue of her past pride. Kimaria still considered the Umande'mfuni pride her own, despite her not being a member just yet. Hesitating out of fear of their responses, she released a short sigh and glanced around.

Amethyst eyes caught glimpse of what appeared to be a mother lioness and her cub. But what adorned the mother's back was what truly caught Kimaria's attention. Would a Goddess be roaming so openly outside their borders? Perhaps this was a sign that today would be the day she would need to venture to her past homeland! Perhaps today this Goddess could help her!

Mtima laughed brightly at Wahabu's curiosity and disbelief that such different lands could actually exist. There was no doubt in her mind that she'd made a good decision in coming this way.

"Of course it can," she replied matter-of-factly, "You've already seen how different the land we're on now is, and if you actually look off in the distance you can see the trees." The goddess wrinkled her nose in amusement and looked off to the horizon, where there was the visible beginnings of a mass of trees. This was not the only thing to catch her attention, but a pale lioness was visible nearby. She glanced back to Wahabu to see if he'd notice her..

Wahabu made a face at his mother for her laugh, but in the end laughed at himself as well. He took a moment to try looking off to the horizon and the trees found there, at her instruction, but failed to notice the pale lioness right away.

"Those are trees?" he asked, glancing over at his mother, "But there are so many, it doesn't look like trees I imagine."

Kamaria was hesitant in approaching the Goddess and what appeared to be her cub. She had heard of the wrath of the Gods and it seemed rather dangerous to come between a protective mother and her child. Both bravely and determined, the female continued closer. Once she seemed to be close enough to hear them speaking to one another, she lowered her form in respect. Bowing her head down, she attempted to introduce herself, "Greetings Goddess... I come as a humble mortal in an attempt to ask your guidance..."

Keeping her head low, the female's voice came out in almost a whisper. This Goddess was only the second Kamaria had ever seen and she was still frightened of upsetting her. The other had been kind in his ways, but even with that comfort, it would not hurt her to be careful in their presense.

The goddess glanced back from the pale stranger to her son with a small smile, knowing that the lioness was approaching. Mtima saw no reason to worry, for she could clearly see that the lioness had a good soul and would, in all liklihood, mean them no harm. Her attention back on her son, she laughed.

"The trees grow differently in different places, you will learn that the more you see of the world," she explained, but then nodded to the direction Kamaria was coming from, "We have company."

Wahabu was surprised by the nod, and glanced back to see what his mother was pointing out. He was surprised to see a lioness there, he did not notice her himself. When it was obvious she trying to be respectful, he couldn't help but offer a friendly smile- and then, of course, he backed up. She didn't seem so interested in talking to him, though he had to wonder if she thought he was a god too. The idea made him grin and puff up importantly.

You never know!

"Hello there," Mtima greeted the lioness politely, unable to help but smile at the way she was being treated. As much as she liked others to be friendly, she always did enjoy getting a bit of this kind of reaction sometime- it was the vain side of her. Her wings unfolded and fanned out a bit behind her as she offered her own short bow, "I am Mtima'safi, Goddess of Souls. You need not keep your head so low.."

Kamaria was uncertain of how the offspring of Gods were affected by their Godlike parents and so could only assume that this Goddesses' cub would hold the same powers that its mother did. Still remaining respectfully bowed, she nervously glanced up from the corner of her eye to inspect the cub. Wahabu was incredibly bright colored for a lion and he had distinctive bright blue bands on his paws. Beautiful markings, Kamaria thought to herself. Likely a gift from his mother..

Kamaria was surprised when she heard the Goddesses' voice. Something inside her almost expected a booming, echo-like voice, although she did not run across that with her first encounter. Blushing lightly, the female lifted her head part way and then smiled, "It is an incredible pleasure to meet you Mtima'safi.." And feeling somewhat more comfortable, Kamaria allowed herself to better inspect the Goddess, looking over her beautiful jewelry and intricate designs. As the Mtima outstretched her wings, a broad smile spread across Kamaria's face. Simply meeting Mtima seemed to be amazing enough. If the Goddess would answer her question, however, the female would be overwhelmed.

"..I am unsure of what path to take in my life at the moment.. and although you govern over souls, perhaps you could help guide mine..?"

Wahabu glanced from Kamaria to his mother when she returned the greeting, surprised to see and hear such things from his mother. He'd never really seen the purely goddess side of her before, and he could hear even the slight change in her tone that clearly was some part of her being formal. He'd never felt the need to be so formal with a god before, even before he knew about his mother. K'A was one of his best friends, and Athrun didn't seem to mind-- though he'd been young those times, perhaps that made a difference.

Mtima glanced over at Wahabu with a small twinkle of amusement in her eye. Normally, she might be more serious about it but with her son there watching (and clearly somewhat interested and amused) it was hard to be completely serious. With her wings folded neatly on her back, she watched the mortal silent as she explained what she desired.

"Do you have a name, dear?" she asked brightly, sounding just as friendly as ever, "And you'll have to explain the situation if you want my advice, though you should follow your own heart and mind a good deal of the time."

Kamaria did not mean to ignore Wahabu, but the lioness had only heard stories of the young of Gods and mortals. It made her somewhat nervous, however, because she feared the Goddess might feel Kamaria was disrespectful in her behavior towards the Goddess' son. Taking the chance and continuing to speak with Mtima, Kamaria felt her face flush red. Of course! She had forgotten to introduce herself during the bow. Feeling somewhat foolish, the lioness lowered her form once again and spoke politely, "I am Kamaria.."

And then lifting her form once again, Kamaria cleared her throat to speak. It was certainly a gift to speak to a Goddess about this issue. How many others had the ability to have their lives guided by the Gods? Kamaria was naive to how many Gods there were and how often they came to visit the earth. During her life, the Gods had only been spoken of in stories.

Swallowing before she spoke, Kamaria's voice came out almost sadly, "My mother was born of the mistweaver pride, but after the plague, she escaped in order to protect me.. It has been years, but I feel something inside me call back to my home. My mother has long since passed and I feel it may be all I have to connect myself to my mother." With a sigh and glance off towards the distance, she quietly added "..I fear they will not accept me. I was not born upon their territory."

Wahabu was quite content to listen, interested in what might be asked of a god. He'd never had anything he couldn't just ask his mother or father about, and why she didn't do that quickly became evident as Kamaria explained how her mother was dead. When she explained her problem, the little lion looked over to his mother to see how she reacted.

Mtima smiled when Kamaria introduced herself, "What a lovely name." She seemed to continually try to make the lioness more comfortable, though she liked having such respect. It was rather refreshing after spending her time pretending to be a mortal in a very large pride. The goddess then listened intently to the problem, assuming a less cheerful expression when Kamaria's tone changed to more sorrowful.

"If you do not try, you will never know if they would accept you," she answered slowly, thinking through her reply carefully, "You were not born on their territory, but your family history is there and within the pride. You have good reason to try, but should they not accept you, you won't lose all connection to your mother. You will never forget her."

Kamaria kept herself lowered in respect as she spoke, though when the Goddess complimented her name, she couldn't help but flush brightly. It was such an honor to be given such kindness from the Gods. She took this as a good sign and smiled only further. "Thank you. I believe it means, "Like the Moon. I know my mother was fond of the stars.."

Nodding, Kamaria listened carefully. What the Goddess spoke, she knew already, though it was still comforting. She could not lose her memories of her mother. In fact, with time, they had not been forgotten in the least. Still smiling, though more sadly now, Kamaria nodded for a final time. "Yes. You are completely correct. I see no reason why I must wander the borderlands. My contemplation will change nothing. If I am not accepted, I will simply find my home elsewhere.."

Habu beamed from his spot off in the background of their conversation, feeling quite proud to be his mother's son at that very moment. It was hard not to feel that way when someone so clearly respected her, and when she was being so nice and helpful! He too knew she was pretty much stating the obvious, but pointing it out, comfirming what others thought.. it was helpful. Very helpful!

"Like the moon," Mtima repeated softly, smiling at the meaning and nodding approvingly, "A suitable name, as well as a lovely one. Your mother was very smart." The goddess continued to beam at the lioness, even when her smile became somewhat saddened. Mtima herself saw no reason why Kamaria need be denied acceptance to the pride of her family, but should it come to that, it should not be thought of as the end of the world!

"You'll find somewhere to call home, whether it is your nativelands or somewhere new," she said reassuringly, "There is a pride that welcomes most anyone, perhaps you have heard the Pridelanders- Pride Rock is quite distinct, you'd know it when you saw it. If you cannot stay here, it is a lovely area."

Having almost forgotten of the presense of the Goddess' son, Kamaria was glad to notice that he had not become bored and was still smiling and beaming with pride. She felt a sort of motherly instinct come over her as she watched him look up at his mother. It would be pleasant to have her own cubs feel the same way about her one day.

Hearing yet another compliment from the Goddess, Kamaria's cheeks became bright pink. She had been shocked by the first God she met, but this one had shown an even greater kindness, as well as more patience. Smiling and nodding both respectfully as well as in thanks, Kamaria finally took a few steps back. "I thank you so much. I am certain my mother would be pleased to hear that." When the thought of her mother so often brought sad memories, Kamaria found herself simply beaming, seeing her own actions similar to Habu's.

Nodding yet again, Kamaria continued to speak, "I appreciate your words of advice and I will be certain to take them. I will venture tommorow morning to the mistweaver land and see what they say to me. Thank you greatly.. If things don't go as i'd like, I will seek the pridelands. I hope to see you again!"

Mtima dropped a bit of the formality, and took a glance over at Habu when she noticed Kamaria noticing him as well. At the look her son had on his face, she couldn't help but smile wider and wink in his direction. Then her gaze turned back to the lioness. The goddess offered her own nods in return, pleased with how the whole ordeal had gone and feeling quite happy in general now.

"You're quite welcome, Kamaria," she said, "I wish you luck in your venture into the Umande'mfuni lands, and do hope to see you again as well."

With that, Mtima looked to Wahabu again, "Shall we continue?"

Wahabu was grinning ear-to-ear by now, and was more keen than ever to get along with their trip. Bouncing up to his feet eagerly, he scrambled to his mother's side so they could keep going. He nodded a farewell of his own to Kamaria, and looked to his mother for direction.

Having been incredibly pleased by her second meeting with a God, Kamaria offered her last bow in respect and then finally turned on her way. She would be approaching the Umande'mfuni lands soon and if she continued through the night, she could make it there by morning. With a wild grin, the female decided that was just what she would do. Her destination had waited far too long and if there was ever a moment to accept the intelligent young lioness, it would be now.

Mtima and K'anatak have given her nothing but good words and she could not let their good graces go to waste. The lioness only hoped that if she was accepted into her mother's former home, that she could find them again and further thank them for their luck they had given her.

Kamaria was finally on her way.
