Not a constant partitioner within the Arena, it isn't hard for any fool to realize where many of the fights were, and where many of the fighters/spectators hang out. But lacking the necessary stores and buildings which have either been abandoned or desecrated due to its lack of appeal, here comes a sudden moment that one fighter, having the idea to develop an area where there would be at least some "life" and "fights" going around....

Here comes the moment where one normal fighter decides to start....

A restaurant.

Yes.
You heard me.

A restaurant.

And it was of no notice to anyone who doesn't come here often, that a strange new building was erected just about two to three blocks away from the Colosseum, made almost entirely of wood and rare trees. Fashioned with natural materials, the smell within the building was composed with a slightly sweet scent of dew which only a tree can excrete, giving a realistic impression of coming into a forest, just by the smell alone.

On the outside, key locations within the building were protected with hard-layered marble and cement as to reduce the amount of stress on the building's structual integrity. To prevent erosion from the natural forces - as it is mostly made of natural materials - only those locations that have a huge factor on the building itself is reinforced with something other than hard wood, making maintenance easier to handle and easier to repair just in case.

Within the massive wooden doors that block out most forms of rain and snow when closed, multiple silken linings decorated the rooftop's interior, many tied from one side to the next, holding two vital roles:

One in decoration, and the other in holding huge blocks of ice under its tightly woven fabric. To ensure that during spring and summer, when the heat is the highest, the silken linings would provide the necessary control for air temperature, cooling the building's interior from the massive ice held up, and negating the need for an air conditioner that is expensive to maintain and problematic with controls.

Per se.

Organized discretely within the building were wooden tables and comfy looking chairs, enough to seat quite a few number of people when they order items to eat, or things to drink.

Only the kitchen room, located behind the bar that is aligned East from the massive doors is entirely made of metal and non-flammable materials. After all, this is a building made mostly out of wood. Even if the wood is dampened by cold water - with a bit of iciness - every day due to this fighter's primary ability, it can only resist fire for so long before something that is flammable gets hit by it.

Hopefully, that wouldn't happen to the restaurant anytime soon, unless someone wants to fight.

Which leads to the vast open area located just West of the building, in case the people eating want to see an amusing fight or such. And that, my friend, will be another story told another time.

As everything has been settled, and the contract signed for that large piece of land, the fighter who had went through all of this trouble finally appeared during a cold night, where a full moon is just starting to rise from the sunset. He sneezed a bit, rubbing his nose irritably while he looked at the restaurant that he'd finally open up as of now.

A soft breeze uplifted his hood, revealing those brilliant red hairs of his, and those fierce crimson red eyes while he glanced at the building in his default form for now. His hands wearily unzipped the top part of his cloak halfway, revealing some plain clothings and a plain lightweight armor before he walked in, smelling the sweet smell of the trees and the leaves growing off near the third floor, scattering the light above with the soft wind's dance.

"Well..." He said softly, cracking his knuckles and giving a sheepish smile. "Time to work."

And thus begins the first day of The Restaurant, Kousetsu.

A lonely wind blew its way across the dusty restaurant. Watching with rapt dismay, he couldn't help but feel that the reason no one comes, is perhaps, just perhaps, it's because of the lack of relationships within this arena.

"Hm."

Laying the blades to the sides, he took a seat near the bar counter, grabbing himself some drink while waiting for the customers to appear.

Whenever they appear.

With no signs of any customers for at least a week now, there wasn't much else to do but to wait, and cook some food for himself.

Working on a new recipe while listening to the lonely silence, he had his hands involved in some pesky business of taking some bones off of a fish's flesh, making it bone-free and able to be edible without much....taste complaints, per se.

The sound of water trickled nearby.

Saphen entered the resturant...though he wondered with no customers if you could call it that. Turning to a chair he sat down his hands resting upon the table. The dark blue hair that marked him was mostly covered by the even more symbolic hat that adorned his head. The cloak he wore was concealed by the back of the chair and the only visable thing that even remotely looked related to a weapon was the metal gauntlets that covered his hands.

Adjusting the glasses that he wore he looked up at the owner with a smile. "I would like some water if you have any...as well as some rice and noodles." The words faded as suddenly as they came. Piercing was a good way to explain Saphen's stare as it seemed to analyze everything around him constantly but just as quickly move on to the next object with seemingly little thought.

And just when he thought people weren't hungry at all within the Arena...

Snow jolted his senses to alert when he looked at the very first customer who came to the restaurant, slight disbelief in his eyes. But already moving without much thought, he gave a simple brief nod to the man while his bloody red bangs swished back and forth from his quick strides.

"All right. Rice, noodles and some water coming right up."

Time to cook.

Unlike some men who have no talent for cooking - even less than some women who had the knack of burning the cooked food into charcoal and such - Snow was surprisingly smooth at his skill, already a delicious aroma wavering across the restaurant as he turned on the heat for the frying pan and the sort.

Rice and noodles, eh?

Grabbing a cup of glass and a pitcher filled with an icy cool water, he placed the glass in front of Saphen and poured about two-thirds of the glass full with the refreshing taste.

The pitcher was then set down on the table in case Saphen wished to have another cup.

"The food will be ready in two minutes." He commented, giving a polite bow before whisking off to the kitchen to do his bidding.

............

A searing blast of heat echoed out of the kitchen as Snow began his meal preparation. Intentionally setting the fire high, his plan was to cook the meal using a high concentration of heat to reduce the amount of time it took - while also keeping the food tender and chewy without losing its main flavor. Smells of soup also wavered - hinting of some exotic menu as sounds of chopping and cutting was heard behind the scenes.

In just a minute or so, Snow appeared back out of the kitchen, carrying a rather hefty tray full of delicious food which the customer might find appealing, if he is hungry.

A decently large plate was filled with some cooked vegetables, meat that was bathed under a light sweet sauce and fried to add texture to the flavor...and slightly spiced tofu with the exterior warm and the interior contents slightly cool to allow the eater to enjoy the slick sensation of the tofu's surface. Separated by a small alignment of ice which melted under the intense contrast of heat, with fog seeming to emit off of the plate, Snow placed the meal down, along with a bowl of rice for the customer to use and add toppings to if he wishes from the plate.

On the other platter was a simple bowl that emitted a slightly sweet & sour smell, vegetable leaves and long onions chopped into symmetrical proportions - arranged in a circular manner within the bowl itself. The finely- thin noodles seems to be freshly bathed in the soups flavor, giving it an extra 'kick' in the mouth while providing a natural sweet tangency that can make any person drool with hunger.

Giving a polite bow once more, he took a step back. "Any other orders, sir?" He questioned with a soft smile.

"No I am quite alright," taking a sip of the water he smiled for a moment "I should have guessed a man of your ability would have fine water here."

Setting the cup down he began to eat quietly as he turned to look around the building. "So you take the time to create this place even when you have battles to train for?" In a way Saphen was almost talking to him self but in another way also talking to Snow.

"Oh I am Saphen by the way, tis an honor to meet you." Lifting his well known hat...probably more known than he was he revealed his dark blue hair as he bowed his head in respect. "I do appreciate the meal despite the others member's lack of hunger."

Taking the food in with disciplined pace he observed each piece accordingly taking into account flavors, spices, the bowls they were in, and the heat that was created by them as he continued to look about the room.

The man laughed. "Water is of no concern here -- after all, this place is a Restaurant, is it not?" He questioned with slight amusement, proceeding then to unbuckle the blades still clinging onto his hips and setting them to the hangers on the wall nearby.

"I have battles to train for, yes, but why waste one's entire energy on battles day after day, when one can also relax and do what they find entertaining and such?" He continued on, taking off his cloak and revealing the - suprisingly - lack of armor for his fights. Just a set of finely customized bracers, rounded shoulder plates and a simple piece of leather armor for his chest. Lacking detail on the body itself, it's evident that one strong blow at the armor would pierce it easily.

Unless there's something more to it.

"The name's Snow. A pleasure to meet you too." He affirmed, turning back and giving a light formal bow once more. "Please enjoy your meal for the time being. If there's anything else you need, by all means, say so." He added in the meantime.

Saphen in contrast was slightly more armored than his friend and meal maker. The dark metal chest plate he wore was complimented by metal gauntlets covering most of his hands but leaving his fingers gloved leather for mobility. A pendant adorned his neck of a metal dragon with it's body wrapped around a blue marble as if it was sleeping with a favorite stuffed animal. There was no sword to remove, no weapon to disarm, not even a boot dagger to slide out but surely this man must be equiped in some way...right?

"This is true all things considered these battles could be our last." With a sigh he thought about his last battle with a flash of memory "Unfortunately my last opponent hasnt been showing up and may be DQed at anytime...I truly do hate to win battles as such...no honor in it...no honor at all."

"Tsk. Just fight for your life, and the battle might not be your last." Snow queried, finally sitting near an adjacent chair, facing the back support at Saphen as he sat down with a light 'plop!'. A fresh breez blew through the slightly opened window nearby, causing Snow's hair to flow along with the gentle breath. "And you're not the only one who's been winning by default. I've faced about...what, three opponents as of now, and I've already won two of it. One is a forfeit by a damned fire user....

And the other, well, disqualification. That the sort. I can't say I've been having a good time here lately, considering how there's an actual LACK of opponents to fight with recently..."

He sighed.

"Still, if you keep on winning, and I keep on winning, perhaps one day we might have to face each other in a battle, no? Until then, do your best, and good luck in your matches."

Saphen studied him for a while pondering all options that his brain could be functioning. This wasnt some ego boost but rather just the simple way Saphen's mind worked...he was analytical as well as random if that was possible. "Fire user huh? so in reality your most likely a person focused on water based attacks and possibly some air strikes due to the nature of oxygen used to create water." Again he was partly talking to him self and partly to his new found friend. "I have only truly one one match in this entire tournament. The second the person went AWOL and the third I almost had him but at the point he amounted his counter assault he had to forfeit...and that man was no walk in the park it was indeed unfortunate."

Taking another sip of his water as if it was alcohol he turned back to Snow "But what can you do, this is the nature of large scale tournaments."

A bit casual and a laid back tone in his voice, Snow gave a small stretch to his stiff muscles, using it to relax his body a bit. "Mm...I am a cursed being, partly human, partly not. Darkness is my true specialty, but because it's an unstable factor even for me to surpress, I rarely use it at all. My abilitiess, as you've correctly guessed, lie between the realm of a wind and water user...though my expertise lies in ice."

Another pause. As if recalling much of his battles against fire users and his defenseless ability to fight back before, his eyes winced unconsciously, betraying his feelings for a moment.

Damned bastards of fire...

"Individual spars are fine - as much can afford to it during their spare time. Unfortunately, as such large scale tournament predates, much of the time is needed to be actively engaged...
And some opponents are bounded by other reasons, not only by this. That's all I can say though..."

"Interesting we are very much alike you and I. More so focused in one area of the elemental chart as well as one weapon style." Weapon style? wouldnt one need a weapon to have a style for it? Apparently Saphen must have some sort of weapon to be in the style at all... Though these thoughts might push through one's mind they would soon be shattered by his next point. "Fire and water users dance between eachother destroying and being destroyed by different forms of each," with a pause he smiled "Than again all elements react to eachother differently of course you being ice would have disdain for fire which melts it to water but water inturn can quench fire in the right quantity." As if the second response Snow had came crashing into his mind he turned his head to Snow as he spoke once more "We all seem to be bounded by reasons of our own in this tournament...just depends on which ones will prevail and which ones are self destructive."

"We may be similar in using one area of the elemental chart," Snow began, giving a lull twist on his head slowly. "-- We may even be similar in using the same weapon. But that doesn't mean our style will be entirely the same. No -- "

Reaching up as if stretching his back muscles, Snow clenched his fists, an audible display of frost exploding from his palm in a silent display of snowflakes.
In Spring? Snowflakes?

"-- Our style is never the same, you and I. Fire can melt the ice. And water may quench the fire. However, using the right fire combinations, even water can be dispersed quickly before it could be of any use for the desperate fighter. Fire has no limits on how high its energy can be -- but alas, ice and water does. Natural regression versus energetic progression is never the same. That's why ice users like me are always at an disadvantage regardless."

He finished his stretch, looking at Saphen in response. "The ones who prevail are those that are just plain lucky bastards. A small advantage opened up to them and they took it. That's what we are, are we not?"

A cup of blue jello appeared. It had whole blackberries and blueberries dancing around the center of its fluid state.

"I would like some whipped cream. And some starfruit."
"Failure to comply will result in annihilation."

"But fire has a major problem with it... it must have a fuel source. When water turns into steam it is still using the same source and when that steam is frozen it is still that same source. But fire only lasts as long as oxygen does...take away oxygen and there is no fire to bring it to that point." Saphen pondered how to place his next words into a sequence that continued his point. "I am not a fire or water user my self but knowing your opponents helps none the less. You are right though even the same fighting style with the same weapons used by two different people will always be different though I can't imagine us using the same weapon...mine is a tad bit rare now a days." Returning back to the other point with out transition "Water does have absolute zero but that can be a painful experience...The other thing that people forget is we are made of a large amount of water...we need water to live...another scary thought." Turning back his attention he went off topic again he took a coin out of his pocket...closing his hand he opened it a few seconds later to reveal two smaller coins...closing it once more he than revealed 5 coins which were also smaller than the ones before it "But it is wise for you to know the problems with your element and the strengths of your opponent...but the world is balance...I am not sure I would go quite so far to say that water users are at a disadvantage but rather balance flows one way until it rains...of course rain can also be a vital weapon in the fight against fire," Saphen had an ability to go off topic that was olympic worthy.
