Nosing up various herbs, a winged Soquili trotted along the edges of the forest, flitting his wings absently. It was exciting work, hunting down the plants, but it was for his human, and she was too kind to him for him to turn her down when she needed some help. She had come down with cold a day or so ago, and had quickly worked on finding remedies around the teepee, but realized she'd need to travel farther in order to find them all. Too weak to walk that far, her dear stallion was the obvious answer, and he couldn't refuse her. So there he was, snorting into the dirt like a dog, searching for key ingrediants to some old Indian recipe. It was in no way enjoyable, but it least it would make him feel good about himself later on. Volunteer work seems to always have that effect.

Looking up towards the beautiful, bright blue sky, the butterfly-winged mare lay nestled in the field of flowers. She had finished her adventure in the mountains and was exhausted. Now she rested peacefully, while her tiny friends, the butterflies, fed on the lovely plants around her. While closing her eyes, she took in a deep breath, taking in the sweet smells around her. She stretched out, about to fall into deep sleep when suddenly the sounds of movement were heard nearby. Feeling a bit lazy and tired, she hesitated to move, but she forcefully sat up and looked around.

Rustling about the grasses, Silverwings hardly noticed a mare in his presence. He didn't even scent her! Of course, his attentions were focused at a rather stubborn root which was refusing to come out. He wouldn't have even seen the other Soquili had she not sat up and caused a rustle no wind could. The stallion lifted his head, his eyes widening. "Oh, didn't see you there." Was his eye sight failing him? No, that was silly! He was still so young! It was the older horse that was plagued with loss of senses, not the young wind stallion. He bowed his head some in a show of no danger, and hooved over to the mare a little to better get a look at her. She was of a kind he had never seen before, with wings like the butterflies that seemed to love her so. "Good morning to you." Though he did have some work to do, he was sure Salali wouldn't mind much if he socialized on the job a bit. She was a very understanding human, after all.

With eyes nearly closed, she took a deep breath and smiled. "A good morning to you as well." She yawned a bit and blushed. "Excuse my manners. I am Nalani." The sleepy mare bowed her head politely. "You seem new to me. Many soquili have come and gone, but you I have never seen before. What brings you around these parts of the land?" She shook her mane loose of any grass that attached itself to it. Her long graceful tail flopped to the side as she eyed the stranger.

"I'm usually around on the other side of the forest's edge, or deeper within the trees." He nodded to her, folding his wings comfortabley. This could end up being a nice little break, as the mare did seem pleseant enough. Perhaps even a new friend? When Salali was able to let him roam, he was in desperate need of company. Though he enjoyed a solitary day surrounded by the conifers, when he wasn't in the forest he liked to have some one to talk to. "My name's Silverwings. Nice to meet you." He bowed his head politely, but didn't ask for a name. If the mare felt like giving it, she would. If not, he wouldn't force the matter. It really was up to her to give away her identity, wasn't it? It wouldn't be very gentlemenly of him to force her into anything.

The fluttercorn smiled as she slowly stood up and shook herself of any dirt. "I see. Have you been to the beautiful beach or the towering mountains? They are great places to explore or relax at." After taking a few steps to his side, she stopped and glanced at him. "Well, it's a pleasure meeting you, Silverwings. You have an interesting name. May I ask who named you?"

The mountains were familiar to the stallion, though he had never climbed the tallest peak. Usually, he spent his time in the thick forests on the sides of the mountains, but never at the tops. It was rare that he went on a hike through the more rugged terrain. The beach, however, was a place he had never gone before. He had heard great things of it's gentle waves and such, but had neve experianced it himself. "I've been to the mountains, yes, butnever the beaches. I'e heard they're lovely." He smiled as the mare stood, taking in her full effect. "My name is from my previous human, though I didn't spend much time with her." He nodded, and then stetched out a wing. The feathers towards the tips sported a white like hue that, in the right light, did look a bit like silver. "See? The very tips are where the name came from."
((;__; I'm so sorry for taking a week. <33))
