You'd think there'd already be this thread....but when was your first time reading yaoi or slash? Mine was POTC slash, and that was about....well, about two months after the movie hit theaters. My first shounen-ai was Eerie Queerie, and my first actual yaoi was FAKE. Yours?

Mine was HP SLASH on ff.net I was a bit "icked" by it at first, but i quckly grew to love it.... Man that sounded Cheesy...!

My first encounter was of Fiction Press not knowing what Yaoi was, I had to pick the one with like 8 warnings in it (only to relish half way through it that it was two boys, but after that I was hooked. And my first Manga on it was Gravitation

Tsukichi I've been wanting to read Gravitation, is it good? I've only read the first Manga, and am hooked on it... so want more of Gravvie... As for when I first encounter with slash, I don't really remember... I think it was like my second year of high school, (Year 8 where I use to live) and I've just finished year 12 now so that was over 5 years ago... sweatdrop No wonder I can't remember.

My first Slash experience was five years ago. I was reading a fanfiction story and write at the end two guys kissed. I can remember thinking'wow, that's so cool'. About a week later I stumbled across a gundam wing fanfiction site the was all Yaoi... I've been hooked since..

When I first thought about slash it was um... Four years ago? Four and a half? Something like that.
I was really into Digimon. I don't think I read any certain pairings. Mainly Mary Sues(shut up!). But then I stumbled upon one called Bonded by Her Royal Weirdness, I think it was. Yamato/Koushiro. After reading it I sat there for about five minutes to let it sink in. It didn't bother me but I didn't go searching for more right away. Except, I kept finding more of it by accident and reading it...
Then I was hooked within a few weeks.

Unfortunately, no. -whimper- At the beginning, I only read POTC and LOTR slash, because I'm obsessed with Lord of the Rings. -MerryxPippin- drool. Elf love- drool.) When I try to find Wolf's Rain, I mostly go for ff.net. Go to the anime section, Wolf's Rain, then you can pick ratings and everything. (Yum). And with the Inuyasha fics, you can also choose charas 1 & 2 (mostly I do that to find only SesshoumaruxKouga fics, or MirokuxSessh).

God, way back. I was new to anime and manga. I'd seen Utena, Sailor Moon, Vampire Princess Miyu, and Kodomo no Omocha. Very fresh into anime/manga when I stumbled on a website that was part of a collective called SnoY (oldies may remember it, it was a CLAMP exclusive collective run by a lady named Val) and she had this website just for yaoi moments and pairings in CLAMP series and I read pretty much the whole website. lol I was kind of interested in a, 'what the hell' way. And so I picked up some of Viz's X/1999 the next chance I got and keep waiting for the slashy/shounen-ai scenes. And if anyone remembers how slow Viz originally was releasing X, you know how slow it was. When I got into X they had the first six volumes out (this was about three and a half to four years ago, lol) and the really slashy stuff doesn't start popping up until about volume 9 and up, so I started getting introduced to other series in the mean time to help my unfulfilled curiousity: Wish, Yami no Matsuei, Card Captor Sakura were the earliest ones.

Okay, this is so going to date me, but my first experience in the world of slash was Highlander: The Series slash. I started reading and writing in during the second season which means I've been doing this since 1993. First yaoi experience was (believe it or not) random bits of Digimon yaoi when I was in Japan, which makes it `99. Good god I feel old.
