This is my second cult story. The chapters may be edited after they've been posted. So, don't be surprised if you notice stuff missing or stuff that you didn't notice before. And to new readers (which I most likely won't have): Chapters normally take a while to be done so don't be overwhelmed by the number of them. You'll have plenty of time to read all of them.

Also, don't forget to check out Seaphron's story, Cult Team Go!

Memoirs of Masamune

It was a troubled time, to say the least. Panic just suddenly spread all across the lands, like wildfire. It overwhelmed many of us.

~Extract from Memoirs of Masamune the Fifth

Chapter Twenty: My Name is Betman...

'Everyone was pretty impressed with me. They say that without my bravery the world would have been lost, or crap like that. Tsch... I guess that's how I ended up as a Squad Leader. I was getting so much praise and s**t for what I did that day... like I should get praise for what I had to do... I'm a mercenary. I do what I'm told and I get paid. Rescue... protect... kill... it's all the same to me. It's my job. And I guess that's why I'm here now, out in this desert, under this damned boiling sun. To do my job.'

Character Info

Note: Just because someone isn't listed here, doesn't mean that they aren't in the story. There can be culty-based characters not listed here.

Masamune: Nintendo Cult Recorder and Strategist. He tends to think a lot about things, making him an excellent strategist. But if he is caught off guard he may slip up and rush to decisions. And some of his decisions and plans often look poor to him in hind-sight, and he is often ridden with guilt or regret.

The Lifeless Fox: Oracle of the Damned and the last living descendent of the Oracle of Delphi. He is able to recognize things on a supernatural level. However, he only predicts when bad things are going to happen. His visions and predictions are seldom specific. He also wears extremely oversized clothes.

Nter: Leader of the Nintendo Cult Hyrule Outpost. He is a mighty warrior and a good leader.

Altae: Second in command of the Nintendo Cult Hyrule Outpost. She tends to be strict with those under her command and expects much out of them. She has an eye for seeing potential in people and is often irritated when it is wasted.

Meta_Ducky: Leader of the Nintendo Cult Dreamland Outpost. He was killed by Nightmare, the Azure Knight.

Betman: Survivor of the Dreamland Outpost. He is a Culty with strong moral convictions. He strongly dislikes harming an unarmed enemy and he is angered when innocent or defenseless people are killed mercilessly. But after the fight with Astaroth and watching his comrades being slaughtered, there are times when he explodes in rage and brutality.

Ziggy: Survivor and second-in-command of the Dreamland Outpost. Since the Dreamland incident, Ziggy has become quiet and often aimlessly roams the halls of the Hyrule Outpost. However, she has made it her duty to look out for Betman, the only other survivor of the Dreamland Outpost.

Meta_Fish: Head of the Nintendo Cult.

Trenn Flashkill: Leader of the Nintendo Cult Mushroom Kingdom Outpost.

Bodewyn: Leader of the Nintendo Cult Lylat System Outpost.

Squall Mage (Xiloscent): Nintendo Cult Hyrule Outpost Alchemist. He is barely ever found without wearing some variation of his signature blue alchemist's robe. He is a skilled Alchemist, and creates many potions and enchanted items for the Cult. However, there is evidence suggesting that he has delved into other sciences as well.

Seaphron: Member of Squad E of the Hyrule Outpost. He is a skilled fighter with spears and lances.

Echo Member of Squad E of the Hyrule Outpost. He has the unique ability to control sound waves. Besides utilizing this as a powerful attack, he is able to hear things that a normal person would be unable to.

Kegan: Member of Squad E of the Hyrule Outpost. He often wears a nice white shirt, even when in combat.

Transnine: Squad Leader of Squad B of the Hyrule Outpost. He is skilled in the use of katanas, wakizashis, tantos, and certain magic.

Akuyoko: Member of Squad B of the Hyrule Outpost. He is very quick on his feet and is often sent on scouting missions. Akuyoko's fox-like ears and agility is due to experiments which have long since been abandoned.

Romyion: Member of Squad B of the Hyrule Outpost. Some might think of him as the equivalent of a 'village idiot'. But he actually has quite some talent for fighting.

Demonix: Member of Squad B of the Hyrule Outpost.

Geno: Member of Squad B of the Hyrule Outpost. He is excellent with a katana and is a respected warrior among his outpost. He can be sarcastic at times but there are also times when he is very serious. Due to this, some people have trouble understanding exactly what he is meaning to say.

Raui: Squad Leader of Squad D of the Hyrule Outpost. He normally fights with a rapier.

Seron Adrix: Member of Squad D of the Hyrule Outpost. He uses telekinesis and long whip to battle enemies at a distance.

Maul: Member of Squad D of the Hyrule Outpost. He's over-eager to jump into situations which often gets him into tight spots. His most prominent feature is that he has cat ears and a cat tail. Like Akuyoko, he gained his animal-like characteristics because of certain experiments that have long been abandoned.

Akkad: Member of Squad D of the Hyrule Outpost. He fights with an unusual weapon. A thin blade lines the sides of his shoes. He uses this to put a cutting edge into his kicks.

Gonbe: Member of Squad A of the Hyrule Outpost. Gonbe is quite skilled in healing magic and along with Squall Mage, she makes up the Hyrule Outpost infirmary team.

Skine: Member of Squad A of the Hyrule Outpost. Skine has power of fire. He is loud and a kind of pyromaniac. Nonetheless he is skilled at what he does.

Michailia: Member of Squad C of the Hyrule Outpost. Michailia is a very pretty and kind girl. She can control certain elements of nature and use them to her advantage.

The Forsaken Swordsman: He is a master swordsman and has a grace in battle unmatched by any. Every one of his attacks is swift and smooth. Hardly ever does his stance break. He joined up with the Nintendo Cult after encountering Squad E in Death Mountain when both were searching for the Goron's Ruby. Forsaken Swordsman is a warrior with a great sense of honor. Not much is known about his motives or who he actually is.

Summary

This section is to allow new readers to jump right into the story if they don't have the time to reread all the other chapters. I will have a summary every ten chapters.

Chapters 1-10

During a storm a young prophetic child named The Lifeless Fox appeared at the Hyrule Outpost of the Nintendo Cult. He fortold of doom and when no one believed him they were caught off guard by an assault of Metal Slime. But with Echo's help, The Lifeless Fox was able to destroy the otherworldly music-box that was causing the attack. After this everyone started to believe The Lifeless Fox's predictions. But there would be little time to relax as the Dreamland Outpost was under attack by Nightmare and Astaroth. Squad E, led by Masamune and accompanied by The Lifeless Fox, hurried to Dreamland to assist their comrades. Unfortunately, everyone was killed save for the second-in-command, Ziggy, and Betman, who was cursed after winning the battle against Astaroth. After a few days they would all return to the Hyrule Outpost. A short time of peace would pass before Squad B would fight with an assassin who supposedly came from an unknown land called Amahara.

ART FOR CHARACTERS

I have decided to start paying Cult artists for drawings of the characters of this story, Memoirs of Masamune. I will pay up to 10,000 gold for each drawing. Though it is most likely that you will be payed less than the maximum.

The payment will be based off of:

Quality of the Drawing
Neatness
Likeness of the character as described in the story
