Mavis ran through the forest, his tail straight as an arrow. He had to run for his life. The forest seemed to be closing in on him. His dark-maroon hued eyes gazed around the area rapidly, looking for something to escape from. It seemed like the day was never going to end. Suddenly a rock appeared in front of him. Digging his heels into the ground, he tried to stop, but he slammed his side into the large rock, causing him to loose his breath.
Dizzy and confused he let his body fall down on the ground. Stars swarmed around his vision, a voice snickering at him from the back of his mind. 'Foolish boy,' Dämon snickered at him. 'Don't try to run away from Fate. It will always catch up to you in the end.' Mavis growled at his darker half. Ever since his run in with Jaylin, Dämon had been teasing him constantly. His search for his brother had gone cold and Mavis was out of ideas of where to find Beere'Augen. Sighing, he laid his head on the ground, unable to move at the moment. The pain in his chest was too great to bear and his breathing was raspy and hoarse.
"Stupid," he muttered under his breath, trying to get the pain under control. He knew he would have a large bruise on his side and a few cracked ribs. If his father was here he would try to ease the pain of his son. 'Father isn't here,' a snickering voice told him. 'You are the one who left Father, not the other way around. You are a foolish boy.' mavis cursed to himself under his breath. He thought life would be easier if he got away from all of the familiar faces he knew, but in the end he knew his place was with a pack. He had heard of a wandering Gypsy pack that had no lands they belonged to. Mavis wanted to find that pack and join it, leaving his father with his new studen, Quin.
Feeling the pain easing slightly and his breathing getting easier, Mavis dared to move. A sharp jolt of pain filled his chest and he cursed loudly. 'Don't struggle, little one. It will only make things worse,' his darker half told him in a harsh whisper. Mavis shook his head. He needed to move or else something big might come up and get him. He didn't want to get killed an an early age. Staggering to his feet, he held his head down low to the ground, his breathing heavy and still quite hoarse. It would seem like the night was going to be a long one if the pain didn't go away soon.

Red eyes gazed through the forest; the moon was low in the sky. He shook his head as a gust of wind shot out from in front of him and sent him flying backward. He growled his red eyes glared at the invisible thing in front of him, the air that surrounded. He wouldn't ever understand how to be able to control this strange ability of his. What was it? He didn't even know anyone who knew. This was horrid... what would happen if he hurt some one? He wondered silently. He shoved the worry away when a familiar sent caught his attention. It was distant and he knew it... he couldn't remember from were it came from but he knew it was important. Could he be his brother? He pondered and looked around, the movement of the wind had changed to bring him this scent.
Beere let loose a loud howl and shortly began a track to bring him closer to that sent. He had been wandering for such a long while trying to stay away from others to make sure he wouldn't suddenly loose control of his powers and harm some one by accident. He didn't even know what he was becoming yet it made him worry a bit yet it was interesting he wondered how his powers would develop how strong they would get.
Beere ran through the forest following the wind, he growled as it suddenly dissipated as he lost control of it again. He stayed calm and looked around trying to catch the sent again on his own. And why in the hell was he able to control the air? Beere gave a slight sigh that mystery would probably show itself in time, as would everything else. There it is he thought quietly to himself catching that familiar sent once more. He knew it all to well yet he still couldn't put a face to whom it belonged to. Beere mentally slapped himself for not remembering and continued to follow the sent. By the time he reached his destination the moon was at its peak in the sky.
Beere-Augen slowed to a halt, as the sent became its strongest just in front of the brush he started out slowly walking through the brush and saw a familiar dark blue and orange form "Mavis?" Beere stared at him keeping a calm composure. What the hell was he doing out here? Last thing Beere knew Mavis was still with their father. His brother seemed to be in pain he had heard yelps not to far back and wondered if he could help. He walked closer to his brother "What happened?" he asked looking at his brother walking over quickly.

Mavis' ears pricked up as he caught the scent of another wolf. His body stiffened up instinctively and a fresh jab of pain shot through his chest. He grinded his teeth together as he forced himself to push the pain down. All of a sudden a hacking cough arose from his maw, a droplet of blood appearing on his lips before falling down onto the sandy ground. Gazing down at the small droplet of his own blood, he widened his eyes, panicking slightly. Had he really done some damage to himself this time.
Hearing soft footsteps heading towards him, a tiny voice in his head told him to flee, but something made him stay. Hearing a familiar voice, he raised his head up to see his brother standing in front of him. He opened his maw to say something when another hacking cough escaped his maw again. 'Curses, I really have done it this time,' he thought to himself bitterly as more blood fell from his lips to the ground. 'Poor brother doesn't even realize that you have me just like mother has her inner demon,' Dämon said to his lighter half in a taunting voice. Mavis narrowed his eyes slightly, wondering if Beere did know about his other self.
"Brother, what are you doing here?" he finally asked Beere in a soft, hoarse voice. He could feel the aches in his chest growing slowly, despite him trying to make them lesser. The pain would soon spread to his back, causing him to stay out in the open until he got better or someone came by to take care of him.

Beere came from the bushes and saw his brother’s maw stained with his own blood, he had heard violent coughing a few moments before. What had Mavis done to cause himself such pain? “What did you do?” he asked Mavis then asked his brother another question “what are you doing out here?” And to Mavis’s question he answered, “I live around here.” The last thing he knew about Mavis was that he was with their father.
Beere walked closer to Mavis to examine the extent of the damage panicking now would not help but only worsen matters. “Does it hurt when you breathe?” he asked his brother. He had noticed that Mavis was in more conflict with himself but he would keep quiet about it for now. Beere was more worried about how to help his brother right now, if this wasn’t patched up soon. Mavis would be in serious trouble cause he would have to wait until it healed before he could move and by that time… something else could get to him drawn by the sent of fresh blood.
Beere sat on his haunches beside his brother and placed his paw gently on his brother’s ribs trying to find the extent of the damage he knew very well there would be a large bruise there by tomorrow. Beere watched as suddenly the wound started healing. He stayed calm and watched as it healed mostly anyway, he pulled his paw away and looked at his brother with a questioning glance, he couldn’t do that yesterday.
"Any better?" he asked his brother knowing full well it would be.

Mavis pinned his ears back when he heard that Beere lived out here in these parts of the forest. He quickly glanced around, wondering if the wolf that his brother had been living with was nearby. Seeing no other wolf around, he turned his gaze back towards his brother. He opened his maw to say something when he felt another wave of coughs rising up. Clamping his jaws shut, he managed to keep the coughs down.
Not wanting to risk talking, he nodded his head slightly to Beere's second question. With each breath it felt like something was being poked into his side, digging into his lungs. He closed his eyes for a few moments, hoping the pain would go away soon. He knew he wanted his brother closer to him to keep away any rogue wolves or other predators from getting to him. The scent of blood might already be thick in the air and soon hungry predators might come to attack him while he was weakened.
Mavis started to sit down next to his brother, he stopped suddenly when a paw was pressed against his ribcage. He glanced down to see that it was Beere's paw on his chest and he stared at it curiously. As if someone had sped up time, he started to feel the pain slowly going away, his breathing getting better. A matter of moments later, the paw had vanished from his chest and he was able to breath easier. Most of the pain had vanished, leaving a dull throb of pain as a reminder of the injuries he had delt upon himself. Mavis knew he would still have a bruise on his side, but at least the injuries to his lungs had healed up almost completely. Mavis looked up at his brother as he heard Beere ask him if it was any better. He nodded his head slightly and leaned forward a few inches. "Yeah, better. Thanks, brother," he said in a soft voice. 'Mother nearby?' Dämon asked in a curious tone of voice. Mavis growled at himself under his breath. He had unknowingly dropped the wall the moment Beere had placed his paw on his chest. Mavis didn't want to answer Dämon then.
"Brother, what are these stories of you being chosen to become a Shaman?" he asked Beere curiously. He had forgotten where he had heard that. Dämon would probably know, but Mavis didn't want to asked his darker half right then. "And what of Mother? Where is she?" Dämon's attention snapped to his lighter half. "Mother," the darker half whispered, taking control of Mavis' body temporarily. "Mother is gone, isn't she?" A tear fell from the corner of Mavis' eye. "No, Mother cannot be gone." "But Mother must be gone if Brother is here alone." Mavis shook his head slightly. "No, Mother is still alive. Mother left Brother in the care of another wolf." "Then where is this wolf?" "I don't know." Dämon gazed at Beere curiously, wondering what the other male was thinking of this 'one' way conversation. "Mother has to be alive. Otherwise Father would have told us that Mother was gone." Mavis then realized that Beere was still here and he looked up at him. "Mother is still alive, isn't she Brother?"

Beere-Augen looked at the wound that he had healed he had done it without thinking. And he didn’t even know he was able to. He was becoming a Shaman? The thought dawned on him he knew nothing about Shamans or Seers and yet he was becoming a shaman, as he atleast knew they had healing powers.
“Welcome” was all Beere had said as he listened to Mavis. “I see you have an inner ‘demon’ Mavis” beere observed he wouldn’t scorn his brother for it, their mother had one too just like Mavis’s new one. He didn’t remember his brother having a demon when they were pups perhaps it was recent? “No Mother is not nearby but she isn’t dead.” He responded to the questions that both the demon and his brother asked. “I would know if she was dead,” he told his brother “I would know it.” He then added to calm them both “I saw her not too long ago.”
“I didn’t know I was ment to be a shaman until a days ago while I was hunting.” He explained to Mavis then tried to straighten a few thinks out about Kiros “Kiros has his own family too he stays with them as well as with me.” He told mavis calmly still sitting beside his brother, not bothered buy the fact Mavis had a demon. it was part of their blood after all.
"How have you been brother?" he asked wanting to know how Mavis and father had been holding up.

Mavis flicked an ear at his brother's comment about his darker side. He wanted to scorn Beere, but didn't. He didn't want to sever the already weakened ties he had with his brother. Shrugging slightly, he sat down on his haunches, tucking his hindpaws neatly underneath his body. "He can sometimes be a nuisance." He didn't want to tell his brother that Dämon had been with him since they were pups. The darker half was surpressed by his innocent mind when he was a pup, but when he became a teen Dämon became active and started to take control of Mavis' body whenever his lighter half's guard was down.
Mavis sighed at the news that their mother wasn't dead. That was when Dämon took control. "If Mother is alive, then why isn't she around?" Mavis growled in the back of his throat. "Mother must be busy like Father is." Flit was always busy doing something. That was one of the reasons why Mavis had left the Outriders' packlands.
"Kiros?" Mavis asked curiously. "Brother's keeper." "Must be brother's keeper. Why did Brother stay with Kiros?" He was curious as to why their mother would feel safe in allowing Beere to stay with this lone wolf. He heard the last question Beere said and he shrugged slightly. "Been alright. Wandering around the lands trying to gain some knowledge of everthing. Father is loving the packlands his Alpha has near the ocean. I grew tired of it." He flicked his ear again and looked at his brother curiously. "what have you been doing other than trying to get control of your shaman powers?"

"I see" Beere-Augen looked toward his brother. Beere nodded "Mother is busy." he confirmed ignoreing the growl. He couldnt remember were she went since it had been a long time but he was sure she would come back one day soon.
"Kiros is the one who took care of me." he explained to his brother, He did wonder why Elsig had left him in Kiros's care rather than Flit's but that question could only be answered by Kiros and mother. He would have to ask the next time they spoke. "Because I was told to and I was too young to wander around before" he figured, even he himself didn't know why he was told to stay with Kiros. Kiros now had pups of his own and Beere wondered why he was still staying there.
The Teal-gray wolf listened "So how has your quest for knowledge been?" he inquired quickly before Mavis asked him a question. "I haven't been up to much except exparimenting with mynew abilities although I haven't told anyone yet besides you my brother."

Mavis flicked his orange-tipped ear as Beere confirmed that their mother was busy. Busy doing what, the young male wondered. Sighing, he flicked the ear again and thumped his tail on the ground. He had wished his mother would come see him every once in a while. Maybe that way the demon inside of him could become under his control.
Pricking his ears up as his brother told him that Kiros was the one who took care of him, Mavis could feel Dämon getting more and more nervous of the other male. 'Something wrong?' The darker half of Mavis shuddered slightly, causing Mavis' body to imitate the body movement. 'The smell of this Kiros is all over Brother. I highly doubt brother would stay with someone like that unless Mother was unable to take care of Brother.' Mavis shrugged slightly, not wanting to believe the darker half.
Turning his gaze back to his brother in time to hear his question, he canted his head to one side. "It has been a difficult one, but I have finally made up my mind and have decided not to return to Father. I am sure Father will be fine without me, but he is still missing Mother." Standing up, he walked the little distance between him and his brother and he nuzzled Beere's neck gently. "I hope you become a strong Shaman, Brother. I am sure you will gain control of your newfound powers unlike me with my demon. He is a handful and is hard to get under control." He could feel Dämon's anger for him grow with those words, but Mavis didn't care. He would either have to put up with Dämon or continue to fight his darker half for the rest of his life.

“Maybe we should go look for her?” Beere suggested he missed their mother too and did occasionally wonder why she never came to visit him. He had contemplated looking for mother himself but he would rather enjoy going with Mavis his only brother. Beere would be able to spend time with his brother he hadn’t seen since birth.
Beere nodded, he would have liked to see their father once perhaps he would sometime soon. Beere grinned and nuzzled his brother back; he was quite joyful to have his brother back by his side. The blue-gray wolf nodded “I promise you I will become a strong shaman.” He smiled comfortingly to his brother “I am sure you will get him under control after all mother did.”
“And don’t forget you are my brother and I will always be here.” Beere said finally after a little while.
((OMG! I am so brain dead))

['tis alright. so am i. ^^;]
Mavis canted his head as his brother suggested that they go look for their mother. He wanted to say yes, but his inner demon chuckled darkly at the question. 'Is theres something wrong with finding Mother?' he asked the darker half curiously, a hint of hurt mingled in the question. 'What if Mother doesn't want to be found?' Mavis started to answer Dämon when he felt Beere nuzzle him back.
Ignoring his darker half, he turned his full attention on Beere, not wanting to waste a single minute while he was with his brother. He smiled widely as he heard his brother say that he will become a strong shaman. He flicked an ear, though, when he heard that their mother gained control of her inner demon. He had no idea that his demon was tamable since Dämon liked to do whatever he wanted to whenever he wanted to. Sighing slightly, he nodded his head somblerly. "Hopefully I will get him under control. It has been too long since I have found peace within myself."
The next statement his brother said put the smile back on his face. "And I will be here for you, too, Brother. Forever and ever," he said in a sing-song voice.

Beere waited, his question went unanswered he would ask again soon. “Of course you will” he assured his brother just as soon as he accepts himself. Beere thought privately. “You will find your peace” Beere promised his brother, “I will help.”
A grin spread across the usually calm wolfs face “I bet you will” he smirked
“So do you want to look for mom?” asked the shaman to be again.

Mavis held back a cringe as he heard Beere say that he would help him control his inner demon. He didn't want to drag his brother into his problems. He wanted to control Dämon by himself like their mother had. Sighing, he shrugged his shoulders, noticing a smile on his brother's maw. He didn't know that Beere smiled, but at least it was better than his calm expression he always wore.
Hearing the question again about them finding their mother, he opened his maw slightly to answer his brother when he felt Dämon stir. 'Stay out of this,' he thought angrily to the darker half. Feeling his inner demon creep back to his little corner. "I would love to look for mother, but not now. I cannot show my face to Mother with this demon on the loose. Don't fret, though. I will seek you out when I get my inner demon under control." He gave his brother a shy smile, hoping he would understand the situation he was in.
