Note: I am doing my best to write this from as unbiased viewpoint. This is difficult to do, as the subject matter is very intolerant. If you are offended by Neo-Nazism, skip over this thread.

Prussian Blue is a folk-song/pop duo formed by Lynx Vaughan Gaede and Lamb Lennon Gaede, two fourteen year old twins raised in a white supremacist family. Since the moment they first recieved national media attention, these twins have been considered icons and symbols of the Neo-Nazi subculture.

Website: http://www.prussianbluestore.com/

Their career started in 2001 when the twins played at Eurofest, a white nationalist festival. They began to play instruments soon thereafter. The first media attention they recieved was in 2002 when VH1 featured them on a special called "Inside Hate Rock." Since being on national media, they've shown up in the news quite often, gaining in popularity each time among White Supremacists and Neo-Nazis.

The band is managed by their mother, who has kept them in the spotlight from the young age of 7. They claim to like the attention they recieve, and sing out of free will.

In 2004 their first CD, Fragment of the Future was released. This CD contained many white nationalist themes, but made many sales within their specific community.

Their next CD, The Path We Chose, was released in 2004 and lacked most of the racial overtones the first album had, and was more about mainstream content, such as boys and dating.

In 2005 they released a DVD, Blonde Hair Blue Eyes, which had several music videos and live performances. They toured the US that same year.

As an example of this group's controversy, I have included an MP3 of one of their more controversial songs and the lyrics:
http://67.55.58.224/Prussian_Blue-I_Will_Bleed_For_You.mp3

Quote:
I see you all around me. I see the apathy in your eyes, knowing not what it means to be free, watching as the White flame dies.

It means nothing to you, Pride is an unknown trait. Tell me what are you gonna do run and hide or face the hate?

To every man who doesn't dream, I am the Dreamer. To every man who doesn't believe, I'm the Believer. To every man who doesn't Receive. I'm the receiver. To every man who refuses to bleed, I will bleed for you.

Well you're walking round in circles, burying your head in the sand. Watching but not caring, while they rape your land. Turning your face to the wall, living in a second class world, while the valiant stand and fall. You just do as your told.

Tell me how do you live with yourself? Hang your head in shame. Have you no pride in your heritage, and no pride in your name? I'm glad that I'm not like you. I know my children are proud of me. While yours still suffer too, mine I know will always stay free.

What do you make of all this?

Should these children, be pushed by their mother to live in the eye of a white supremacy hurricane, so to speak? Is their mother in the wrong?

Do you see these girls having a future as a singing duo, or is their band going to befall some unfortunate fate?

They're fourteen. They could choose whether or not they want to sing. Their mother may have gotten them started, but they're the ones choosing to continue. Yes, their mother is in the wrong, but the twins are also in the wrong. Were they taught about racism in school? Probably. I don't know what they think they're doing, but I'd like to find out.

I did some studying and I was surprised at what I found. Families who believe in White Nationalism, and I don't mean rebellious teenagers, but entire families, often use that belief in White Nationalism as a way for the family to bond. At every website I went to that spoke from their perspective, I saw very strong family ties.

I'd like to point out that nowhere in Prussian Blue's songs does it speak out against Jews or Blacks. Instead, their music praises "being White." It seemed to me that more than being anti-Semitic or racist, White Nationalism is mostly about being White and strengthening the ties that White people have with members of their own race.

Just another viewpoint...

Yes, I can see how that could bring families together. The thing that seems to be making me uncomfortable is that they praise being white, as opposed to what? It's like if someone said "Oh yeah, it's great having brown hair, brown-haired people are so awesome!" What would you feel if you had blond, red, or black hair? Instead of praising all races, they praise one race.

Anyways, it doesn't make sense to me what's so special about strengthening ties with members of your own race any more than strengthening ties with members of your own shoe size. The thing is, it's skin deep. You might as well strengthen your ties with members of all races.

I agree with you on that point, by far. People shouldn't single one another out based on racial differences.

However, I will point out that the National Assiciation for the Advancement of Colored People (the NAACP) is primarily black only, and as a key of their movement, teaches black people to stand together and strengthen ties.

Granted, the motivations and goals are widely seperate, is it wrong to say one group can't exist but the other can? Very much so. This very point is the ONLY reason I don't believe white nationalism should be abolished.

My honest opinion, setting tolerance aside for a moment, is that Nazism is an abomination and a shame of mankind. However, it exists, and since it does, and since I believe VERY strongly in the right for anyone to believe what they want and be allowed to express their beliefs, I feel it should be allowed to exist. But if anything one of those people says or does affects me adversely in any way, that person is giving me the right to return an equal amount of negativity. Through legal avenues, of course.

I agree with what is said. I consider myself tolerant and I would never start to talk about Chinese people or German people as supreme or better. As was said before if you start like that, you can do this with anything. Haircolor, eyecolor, shoesize, weight, height etc. etc.

There was once that poem or so, I don't remember all of it, but it went like this:

When they came to get the communists, I didn't stand up for them because I was not a communist.
When they came to get the Jews, I didn't stand up for them because I was not a Jew.
When they came to get the homosexuals, I didn't stand up for them because I was not homosexual.
When they came to get me, there was nobody left to stand up for me...

I know it's kinda off-topic, but I thought this was worth a thought.

But then I also understand the other point of view. Of course it can strengthen families etc. when there's something highlighted that everybody in the family has in common. It always strengthens a group of people when they either find things in common or when they find someone or a group of people that can function as a scapegoat, as an "enemy".

That doesn't necessarily mean something bad. There are homosexual bars where heterosexuals are kindly asked to leave; there are clubs and associations where only blacks are being admitted to; there are sport clubs that only want women to join etc. Is that always bad? No. It only becomes bad when people that are different aren't accepted or tolerated anymore. Only then we have a real problem.
