I got this idea... Need audio-enabled kids for this, so those without a mic need not apply. Seems me making the dean's list a while back got me a reimbursment, which means for you lucky kids.. I got some to spend. So. We'll set this up contest-style. Playing for Gaia donation items courtesy of me to the winner(s). Let's see who's down first, and then I'll get to posting on the terms. Remember, audio-enabled people only. No collaborations.
Post if you're down. Tell your friends on Gaia too.
And just so you know, submissions to this contest will remain property of their makers. If there are enough entries, I'll probably put them on a mixtape and post the track list and URLs somewhere in the Hip-Hop subforum.

Well, my partner in crime joined, so I'm guilty by association. Plus, I was pissed about not being able to get anything ready for the first Mixtape.. Edit: I request to be the 1st track, the intro. Me doing a freestyle, or written s**t, most likely without a beat or with something light behind me. Basically a Hip-Hop focused 1-minute verse.

Rules
-This will be a contest for a single song from each participant.
-There is a 3-minute time limit.
-There will be no independent production on part of the participant -> commercial beats only. Only editing on the beat that is allowed is for cutting the beginning and/or ending to fit the time limit, or to signify the song's end.
-Content must be original. The only type of feeding that is allowed is from the subject/topic of the original lyrics of the background music. Absolutely no direct feeding of lines is allowed.
-Completed song must be submitted before February 28, 2007 in the form of a URL in this thread (upload to a third party site such as soundclick, etc.). If you are not able to do so, it can be submitted via MSN to viral_sin@hotmail.com so that I may upload it for you. Anyone that fails to submit a completed song before then will be disqualified without discrimination.
Voting
Will be done by non-participants. A seperate thread showcasing these tracks will be made in the Hip-Hop subforum of the Music forum of Gaia. This will allow for a more diverse vote. Rules on voting will be posted in said thread.
Prizes Cause we know you've been waiting for this.
First place - 10 donation letters.
* - Donation letters will be for the month in which voting ends. If it ends close to the end of the month, it will be for the following month.

Amendments to: submission rules
-Posts for submission should contain the following:
+Artist - Title (of the original track)
+Title (of your remix)
+Your lyrics
+(Your remix of) The song itself
