Green fur rippling with every step taken, pink eyes darking this way and that. Ears flicked back and forth trying to listen to everything around her as the sun began rising. Slowing slightly Weusinafi refused to stop pushing her body to the limits. The leopardess had gone two days without sleeping, the toll of it slowly catching up to her, yet she refused to let it bother her.
Eventually she came to a stop just on the skirts of the Swamp pridelands, this however was unknown to her. Slinking off towards the nearest tree she pushed herself to climb it, tail flicking behind her as she did so. Blending well into the leaves of the tree, Weusinafi made herself comfortable as she watched her surroundings carefully.

Mama took a deep breath, inhaling the familiar scents of her familiar surroundings. The goddess knew every piece of these lands and every lion within them. This was her domain, and no one was long in it before she knew about them.
But this was no lion she smelled. Scenting the air, she gave her tail a flick as she thought. A moment later, and the wings and jewelry and curling horns that marked her as something more than a mortal had disappeared, leaving her looking nothing more impressive than a pretty, brown-and-green lioness.
And after that? She cloaked herself even further, disappearing from sight entirely. Mama would make sure she saw the stranger before the stranger saw her, if she indeed deigned to show herself at all.
In this way she moved through her territory, keeping her eyes and ears open. As it turned out, the leopard was a difficult one to spot, patterned all in lovely greens. Mama paused below the tree, but where she'd be within easy line of sight when she made herself visible once more.
When she did, it was only halfway - the translucent figure of a lioness, the backdrop of the swamp showing right through her.
"Stranger," she breathed.

Ears pricked the leopardess turned her head towards the voice. At first her pink eyes saw nothing but, after doing a double take she could see the translucent figure of what appeared to be a lioness, however this leopardess was not one to be fool.
"Hello to you too." Was her cool response to the goddess. Her tail flicked behind her before she rose to her paws and jumped from the branch landing a yard or two away from the other. "I must aplaud you on seeing my hidden form in the lush leaves."

"Stranger," she repeated, "Of course we saw you. We see everything in our lands." As she spoke, a second form appeared to her right side. Again the form was translucent, but this one was fainter and flickered some, brown touched with hints of white.
Only Mama spoke, but clearly she spoke for 'both' of them...and whoever else might be hiding.

The leopard was taken off guard by the flickering form of another. She had only expected one, to see another was completely surprising. Nafsi quickly hid her surprise as best she could. "Ah, well I still applaud you." She replied with a polite nod her voice remaining the same as before.
"Allow me to introduce myself, I am Weusinafsi." The female spoke to the translucent pair with a bow of her head. "Would you give me the honor of knowing your names?" She asked as politely as she could.
She found herself to be quite curious as to what the pair looked like when not translucent but prevented her from asking them to reveal themselves, she figured they would show her when they were ready.

"Weusinafsi. Stranger," the more solid form intoned. "Our names are gone," she then answered. "We are the restless dead."
A distant stare. "Why have you come here, stranger?"

Restless dead?
Was that supposed to scare her? If it was it didn't really work it only caused the leopard's curiosity to grow, expand. "I was passing by and stopped to take a rest." Nafsi replied relatively unfazed. "I didn't mean to disturb you." She stated unblinking as her tail flicked absentmindedly behind her

"Passing by, stranger passing by," the first of the 'ghosts' mused, while the second gave an unsettlingly cheerful giggle. "Not a good place to rest, no, not with the crocodiles."
"Crocodiles!" Repeated the second, with another giggle.

Arching a brow she echoed one of their words, "Crocodiles?" She had heard about the beasts but never saw one, so she had no fear of them, not yet anyway. Truth was she didn't even know what crocodiles were let alone how dangerous they were.
Clearing her throat she was determined to remained composed, collected. "Well you 'ghosts' have nothing to worry about, I won't be staying long." She paused flicking her tail. "In fact I was planning on leaving here soon."

"Crocodiles will snap you, yes, snap you if they catch you - roll you in the water and break all your bones.. It's not very nice, no, not very nice at all." This time, both giggled - and then disappeared. The giggling lingered a few moments, however.
"Soon! We'll be watching." It was, however, quite the last of them - or Mama, rather. The leopard had turned out not to be very amusing.

Nafsi simply shook her head rather confused by the whole ordeal. However she didn't seem to want to think about it any longer. Whatever these ghosts were, well they were trouble and she wanted nothing to do with them. She had said soon yes, but she had decided she'd rather just leave now.
It was a lesson, she wouldn't be returning to the swamplands any time soon."
