Fondest greetings to you all.
I was just curious if any oen here has seen the 1990 TV mini version of POTO?
I remember watching it with my grandma as a little kid and enjoying it, it being my first introduction to Erik and his marvelous world beneath the Opera. I have since become a huge fan of Erik in all his forms and just recently ordered the DVD of the mini-series of eBay.
I'm looking forward to watching it again, but I thought I'd ask and see if I could get any opinions of it before hand.
I know the characters have been changed some and the story, but that has happened in ever adaptation I have seen. As a bonus, it was filmed at the actual Palais Garnier, which is an amazing place to see if you ever get the chance.
I'll let you guys know what I think after I watch it.

D: OMIGOD. THAT DVD IS MY MOST PRIZED AND PRECIOUS POSESSION. *takes it off the bookshelf and hugs it* OH MY GOD. I LOVE THAT VERSION. O_____O
xD; It's so amazing. Erik's so cuddly. <3 It's amusing, really. I think this DVD's the thing I'll miss most if I end up going blind within the next three years like my eye doctor said. xDDDDD <3 BEST. MOVIE. EVER.
(D: Oh, and don't expect Youko to be uber-funny for a while, guys. Youko is going to be boring. Because she is sort of upset. Forgive her. <3 She'll get funnier. xD; )

NOOOO!! Yuoko why?!?! You are the only person who can make me laugh so hard I fall off the top bunk or blow some liquid out of my nose or cry to the point that I go blind for a few days!!!!
Anyways, I would really like to see it since you all have given such high ratings!

It's decent enough - I'll watch it when I'm interested in sickeningly adorable Erik/Christine fluff. Philippe is pretty good looking, too, if I do say so myself.
Overall, my one description of it is: if one wants a teddy bear of an Erik who has been emasculated of all Erik's dangerous nature, then this is the version for you!

Well thanks all of you. I had heard about Erik being pretty much a non-threat, but I'm still looking forward to checking it out.

Despite it's shortcomings, it does have some of the most hilarious lines.
"*hearing Carlotta's singing* The place really is haunted! What is that?"
Manager/Daroga/Person Character: "What are you going to do about all this?" Erik: "Oh, I know what to do. I'll kill them both!" Manager/Daroga/Person Character:"Oh, come now! Be serious!" Erik: "I'm teasing. Probably the only one I'll have to kill is her." Manager/Daroga/Person Character: "Erik!" Erik: "What has happened to your sense of humor?"

I loved that part. <3 And... please, don't kill me if I don't get the following word-for-word.. I haven't watched the movie in ages...
Erik: Good morning! Did you have a nice sleep? I like taht room. Warm, cozy bed, nice, waterfront view. Christine: o_o; Erik: So! :3 What shall we do today! Oh! I know! Let's have a picnic! Christine: ...a... picnic...? O_o xD Erik: Yes! I know a nice clearing in the woods- we won't be interrupted there! And while we stroll, I can show you where I live! Christine: o_o;;;; Erik: :3 Hat, you think? Formal touch? Christine: ... Erik: Yes, I think so too. And... this! *picks up walking cane* And... voila. *taps picnic basket with cane* Shall we go? *offers Christine his arm* Christine: ... :3 *takes it* *Both trolley off*
xD Omg, I love that scene. <3<3<3<3
And I'm sorry, Confidential. n_n; I'm just not myself lately. <3 Lots of horribly distressing things.

Thicket Wait, wait, wait. Please tell me it's NOT a comedy. No, it isn't. Erik simply has a very eccentric and dry sense of humor. It is certainly more light-hearted than normal version of Phantom, however.

XD Sounds like the Robert Eglund film and that is only loosely based off the novel.
