SUMMARY:
Last night, a number of us met with the Mothership, at Zooeep's request.
During that meeting, Mother revealed her concerns for us, and for our future. She said she thought we were on a certain path to self-destruction. She also revealed how she planned to protect us.
We were there to show her that we are capable of rising above our worst emotions, that we could achieve peace through our own effort: not only between Gaians and Zurgs, but between Gaians and Gaians. In the end, Mother announced that we had "opened her eyes." She said she had made her decision and would let us know soon. We are optimistic.
The following is the bulk of the transcript. The entire meeting took nearly 4 hours. I have edited out the chatter, and in a few cases, pasted bits of sentences together when they were interrupted. If anyone who was there feels that the edits I've done misrepresent the content, please PM me with comments or revisions. :edt:Some have asked who Moof is. There was a time when Zurg was a planet of warring nomadic tribes. They were headed for complete destruction of their planet. The end seemed near when they had their great "Apple Wars." Moof was a sort of prophet who was able to unite them. Without Moof, they would never have evolved to become the advanced race they are now. designergrl: But all have decided to put away childish things, all have decided to evolve further, to embrace peace, to embrace one another, to embrace your peoples as well. KLN: Remember your own past. One of your own kind had to finally stand up to save your kind from disaster. We must do the same. Only united as one.

As would any being.
But it is not just you, or the family. But everyone alive. We all had a hand in it. The chaos is on EVERYONE'S head!

If we were just allowed to fix that mistake... We could repair our world! I would stake my life on it. I swear that to you.
With the BLOOD running in my viens, I would stake Gaia's success.

If I may make a final statement before stepping down... Mother. You said that you would fix a mistake. And I personally made enough hatred of all that Dark Energy out there... But I want to make it up. I want to fix it. I have evolved in mind, if nothing else. I would, with all honesty, give my own life to restore Flarn's. Because he was innocent! He was INNOCENT!

Lorelei Yeager: May I speak? Mother, I am a mother myself, and I have children, as well as running a shelter. They had nowhere to go, no one to turn to, and I was their last hope. If humans are not capable of giving hope and peace, such as my shelter or this meeting, than how is that we can fail?
If the majority help, want peace, or just realize that the fighting is worthless, can that not be seen as a change for the better?

Lorelei Yeager: yet, children grow up, we cannot stay children forever

But a few have already been trying to come up with a way to counter darknrgy. I know it's forbidden on your planet, but there is no law against it here. Maybe we can help because of that.

Mother, I know we seem weak, and I know that, at times, it seems as though we only have the possibility of causing pain and inducing hatred, jealousy, and other negative emotions....I know it seems like we need protection, and as though we're only leading ourselves down a path to destruction, but that's not the case.
There is strength in each of us, in our beliefs, in our emotions, in our attachments-- in every part of us. It seems invisible sometimes, but it's there. It's always there. Especially now. Look what good we've done in these past few weeks....

It's true, there is so much heartache and pain, but there is also so much love, and that love has been so evident these past few weeks. We couldn't have discovered that love without the pain. We couldn't have become what we are now without it-- without that pain, and without those negative feelings, because without it, there is no happiness or appreciation. Mother, I know that you are here with a goal to establish and maintain order and peace on Gaia by becoming supreme ruler over our world. You mention Gaian nature so much, our nature that leads us to be rebellious and wage war.
However, if you suppress all evil on our planet, there will have to be a path for it to escape, as good must coexist with evil at an equal level. Where does it all go?
If there is to be no evil, no conflict between Gaians, then there is only one route that evil can take to leave the planet...our planet that have intergalactic transport... Knowing the intricacies of the universe better than we do, it seems natural that the Zurg would understand the mechanics of the balance of good and evil, light and darkness...
And yet, it seems to me that by letting our evilness flow through you to escape our planet, you are essentially letting yourself become corrupted...If you care for your family's corruption, how can you not care for what could happen to yourself?
Therefore, I know that absolute rule over all of Gaia through an intergalactic species such as yourselves is not a good idea. Instead, I am sure that the best route to peace would be a thorough think over and planning of the future of Gaia based upon non-violence and message-spreading.

Gaia isn't and cant be led by one person or being. Too many things exist.
Gaia is led by the many, and well its done us well so far.

Perhaps you were right. But we have sought something better. We have worked hard to try to bridge those gaps, by supporting the peace movement. And we are here, today, trying our best to cooperate in the name of peace.
You once thought we posed a threat. But we are doing what we can for the greater good. Things, people, and circumstances can change, mother. Even people like Gambino, the sniper, and X.

Free or Dead. I completely agree....Perfection is not fun. I enjoy the awful feeling along with the bad. Utopias have been tried before and all have Failed. As Much as Mother would like to think that we culd survive in a utopia...the lack of freedom would eventually return us to anger and Hate. Utopias do not last.

Criystal -- I hope that what you are feeling is just the typical release of tension... that can often lead to a feeling of being down.
I feel more hopeful each day. Perhaps because I've had the amazing priviledge to watch this develop minute by minute, I feel like I can see peace blossomiing like a flower just at the beginning of budding.
We do still have a journey ahead of us. I think the hardest part is behind us now, though.

After spending 4 hours speaking with mother, everyone was exhausted.. Yet she really seemed to understand our situation.
She still didn't give a final answer, but Im sure she understands the different points of view that are against her plan....

All -- I think the one unanswered question is what will happen to Flarn? Will he get well? Maybe that's what leaves us with an unsettled feeling.
That, and there's always one last twist before the happy ending, right?
Still, knowing that we can anticipate at least one more "zinger" I feel really bouyant. I have my own theories about 09, 11, and 03's weapon of ultimate warm fuzziness.... we shall see.
And I'll post the unedited version in CIPA, which is Private now (no longer Hidden) so everyone can see it. I'll add a link in the first post here.
