Fairfax Reicher Reicher how reached the forests edge, entering into the deep woods. Behind him trailed his new slave, a wolf whos soul he owned, Fairfax. "I ask because I hate things without meaning... For a god, you see, Fairfax, I have never seen or had any notion of the afterlife. I don't see the meaning behind it, I refuse to contemplate it." The younger wolf scowled as he recalled his path and where he was going. Why was he telling his slave this? Perhaps he just felt the need to speak, to hear his own magnificent voice. It could be better then the voice of any bird.
He was hoping to perhaps find Sashta or Diego, but he doubted he would. The skeletal wolf could atleast take his new charge to his tree where he kept his goods and his most prized things. He felt he could atleast try to trust such a lesser being with his secrets. Though... if he found out too much... Fairfax followed after his Master, thinking the conversation must be very deep; He did not understand the direction this conversation was going. His name had to have meaning or else... Reicher would hate it..? What did that have to do with the afterlife. Fair's frowned in thought, trying to work it out. He thought his Master must indeed have been very smart to contemplate such things.
Fair looked up, honestly looked up, for the first time since they had begust their walk. He realized at once the changes in their surroundings. Gone was the pleasant stream and soft grasses; Muffled were the songs of the birds, and plentiful were the smells that wafted over him as they entered the forest. He had not realized his condition before, but as they passed a spot where a male deer had left his scent, Fair was overwhelmed with pangs of hunger. He had not hunted in days, ate little but what he had found, like a dirty scavenger. The green wolf looked at his Master, not really expecting anything from him.

As fate would have it, placed beside the "skull tree" as she called it, our dear Sashta would indeed be found. Laying on her stomach, a bone held between her paws as she contently gnawed on the end. Still some blood and the likes on it. True, it wasn't a skull, but she thought maybe Reicher would like it anyway, so didn't hesitate to rip it out of the leg belonging to the doe she'd killed recently.
The remains of such were off to her left a small ways, and still some of the meat was there. She'd get to it when she was done with this. Her ears instinctively perked as others drew closer, and while she had no clue who one was, her tail absently wavered back and forth when the second of them was recognized as Reicher.

He completely forgot about whatever it was he had been talking about when he caught the scent of Sashta. Reicher didn't bother looking back to his new slave as he started to move faster, in a quick jog as he called back, "Keep pace." Within a minute, though, the wolf had made enough ground to cover the distance between him and his counterpart.
His eyes caught a hold of her, and the massive tree which he stored his objects of possession in. Those pupiless eyes also caught a hold of the bone which she was holding. What a darling surprise! He stopped when he came next to her, looking down to the bone. "Ah, for me?" Reicher questioned, a broad smile on his face.
Almost forgotten, but not completely, Fairfax was. He turned his head to look behind himself. "Sashta, this is Fairfax. I told him I would not kill him in exchange for his servitude."

Fair looked up in confusion at Reicher's suddeness. But where..? Then he saw it. Them. Smelled them, really. His entire body reacted to the smell of fresh meat, moving faster.
When he made it to Reicher's side, or rather just a few steps behind his side, he heard his Master introducing him to the female. Fair didn't raise his head but glanced up at the other curiously. She was, after all, only the second wolf he'd ever met.

"Of course." Deciding it was nice enough to present now, she let the bone drop to the ground and nudged it toward him with her nose. Fairfax? So that was his name, was it? Odd. "Oh, Reicher, another one?" She didn't sound angry, just a tad...frustrated, maybe? "How many wolves do you plan to drag around?" Still, she couldn't help but being curious. With both her and Reicher being black and white, the colors of other wolves never failed to spark her interest.
This time would be no exception, and a second later she had stood and drew slightly closer to the stranger, tilting her head to get a better look at him with her working eye. "I like him." Or more, she liked his colors.

"As many as I want." He scoffed to her. Perhaps they could even accumulate enough so they could rival those stupid hierarchys of packs. The wolf was amused with this idea and thought it over as he reached down to paw at the bone, appreciating the gesture. Reicher did however notice the scent of the fresh corpse, but there were other things as well. He tossed his head back again to speak to Fairfax, "Thank her." The adolescent god said idly as he bent down to pick the bone up in his maw and then place it in the large hole of the tree. All the meat and delicious blood wasn't off of it, either! Lovely, he would have a chance to do that.

Fair listened, his ears pressed back against his head. The new female seemed much like Reicher though... she didn't seem to want him there. The smell of meat was distracting him.
She moved closer and immediately Fair's attention snapped back to the female. He held perfectly still and resisted the urge to glance at his Master. He knew he would want him to be still, submit to the inspection. The furr on his neck rose nervously at having another creature so close to him.
"Th-thank you.." he murmured in response to the command, vaguely wondering what was going on.

Poor thing. Looked so...pathetic, if that was the right word. "Reicher," she began seriously. "If you're going to keep these you have to feed them." Judging by his appearence, if anything he was better off with Reicher. She couldn't help but wander how he'd managed to upset Reicher enough to end up like this, but didn't care enough to ask. Stepping back, she turned and moved toward the remains of the doe.
Biting down on the back leg it still had left, she managed to drag the dead creature to the spot where she'd stood only seconds ago. "Here," she told Reicher's newest slave, nodding her head to indicate he could eat it. Then, almost suspciously, she glanced over her shoulder toward the white wolf. "Where's Diego?"

The wolf rolled his eyes, although it wasn't visible. It never was evident what his eyes were doing, though, so the gesture was lost on them. "I was going to, Sashta. It's not like I could of forgotten." It wasn't like she didn't know that, either, he just liked to remind her of these things. He watch as she offered him the meat, and gave Fairfax an approving nod. It couldn't hurt him to get some meat on his bones, he didn't want to have a useless little beast afterall.
Diego? An adolescents mind was slow in taking this in, and trying to remember. Oh! Right! He remembered. "I had left Diego somewhere and told him not to move. I'm hoping something eats him while i'm gone." Reicher's face turned to a sneer at the mere thought of that crude little pup. "That's not entirely true, though, for if he died then I wouldn't get to maim him anymore."

Not wanting to be impolite, Fair tried not to blatantly stare at at Reicher for his approval to eat. The female's word seemed to be all he need but just in case... The cruel smell of fresh food was driving him a little insane until he finally saw Reicher nod, and tore uncermoniously into the scrap Sashta had given him. He closed his eats, ecstatic to find the taste was indeed better than the smell. I had been so long since he had had fresh meat.. and deer no less. Perhaps when he got his strength up again, he might work on his hunting. That is, if Reicher didn't mind.
The wolf ate quietly, swallowing hunks of meat just as soon as he could tear them free. He only listened halfway to the conversation, but he caught what Reicher had said about "Diego". The word "maim" made him pause and glance over, mid-chew, a peice of meat half in his mouth and half still attached to the bone.

"Perhaps," she agreed slowly. Yes, maybe he didn't forget about feeding them all together, but feeding them regularly was much different. "If you're going to keep these, Reicher, you have to feed them as often as you eat. Or at the very least almost as much." When she thought about it, she realized she had no idea how often Reicher ate. If it was a lot, maybe "the very least" would be best. If they ate too much and I got too strong they might try and revolt, and that wouldn't end well for any of them.
"He's got a weird name." Sashta was plenty comfortable with talking about a wolf who was standing right there with Reicher. He was busy eating anyway. "Make sure you don't get more of these than you can take care of, alright?"

"This one will be different. He will be gratefull for what I give him, I already spared him the worthless life I was going to take." He snorted, not bothering to look at Fairfax as he spoke of him. On a mental roll, he continued. "Besides, if meat sacks like Hige can do it with their moronic little packs, surely a god like I can do it with ease. Why, I could take care of more then just two. I could take care of a group of equal size to their pathetic little packs!"
Surely that is what he could indeed do. It didn't seem too hard anyways, lording over little mongrels and telling them what to do. Especially with Sashta to aid him for those things which he did not understand, for example wanting to protect others. It baffled him, those social norms which he did not follow. Hopefully no one important was listening either, for they might steal his idea. Everyone wanted his ideas.

Fair let the last small chunk of meat slide down his throat with much content. Though he was finished eating, he continued to stare at the remains of the deer, marvelling at it. If it had been his own kill, he would have torn the rest up and buried in various places for later consumption. Tilting his head slightly, watching a small drop of liquid roll over the exposed flank, Fair considered the possibility of never eating old (sometimes half rotten) meat ever again. The idea refused to compute in his head and he eventually let it go.
His Master was still talking to the female, supposedly recapping what had happened. Fair waddled over a safe distance and sat down, staring at the ground, and waited for further instructions. His ears pressed back against his head comfortably; the furr behind there had been packed smoothly from frequent ware.

"A pack?" The thought of it was nearly laughable. She'd admit he could easily drag around one, maybe three of his little...slaves, for lack of a better word. But a pack? Honestly. Despite her thinking, her tone was assuring enough. "Yes, Reicher, you do that. If you get enough you and myself will play the alpha roles and won't have to live under a "meatsack" like Hige."

Reicher, not being able to sense the sarcasm on his counterparts tone, took it in all seriousness. For she had no reason to be joking with him, she knew he hated jokes. "No, not a pack! I would never form a pack, their hierarchy disgusts me. I'd say it would be more of a..." A glimmer passed through his eyes, obviously having just formed a horribly, wonderful idea. "A cult."
The skeletal wolf then threw his head back to release a banshees cackle, high pitched and blood curdling. Oh, he loved himself! What a marvelous thought! Oh, yes, he deserved such a thing! A temple to his own greatness!
