A child walked up to the house where a certain cat lived. He had wondered about the other fable ever since he learned he was a chinese fable. Perhaps, being Japanese, they would have something more in common. Also he seemed to be closer to Bijin's age. He knocked softly on the door and waited for an answer.
Today, Bijin was wearing a pretty blue kimono with small white flowers with falling petals along to the side and a white obi.

Kinnara walked over the door. He thought to himself maybe it was Aurora but he knew that Aurora always called before he came over. He scratched his head and opened the door. To his suprise he saw Bijin in front of him.
"Umm, what bring you out here this day," he asked tilting his head a bit. "Come in it is cold out there." Kinnara then moved out of the door way.

"Ohayo Kin-sempai! Arigato."
The small boy bowed and stepped into the other's house, admiring it with large brown eyes. While he hadn't really been cold he appricated the thought for his well being. The look on Kinnara's face suggested perhaps he should have annonced his intention to visit him before he walked over. But Bijin was currently peering around from where he stood. His house was very much Japanese in style so he was interested in other people's homes. Then he remembered his manners and looked back to the cat.
"I am without friends a lot, I was hoping to come over and play. Or at least become better friends. We share some culture in our fable, so I try to be close friend with you first. I do not see Auro-sempai much and I have only met three other fables. A pretty bird girl, one who likes to swim, and a rabbit that jumps alot. You have a nice home, it is comfortable."
The younger boy smiled brightly at him as his curiousity got the better of him and he started to look around again.

Kinnara ears twitched a bit and his tail hung low as it swished. He looked down at the ground and then at Bijin. He wonder why this fable boy was attracted to him so. Kinnara closed the door behind Bijin.
"So Bijin it is good you meet other fables. Briar he has been busy. He has been to busy even to see me. I remember when it was the two of us. Me and Brair. But anyways the rabbit girl is Ure. Though the others i don't really know. This apartment is my mom's house. It normal kept up to be very nice looking not want to seem like a pig or a slob," he said with a smile.
Kinnara tilted his head a bit. "I am suprise anyone would be intresting in where I am living. Being the cat and all. And I am also suprise that you call me Kin. Only Brair calls me that or close friends if I had any. If you want I have movies, if you want to watch any."

Poor Bijin made a horrible attempt to say 'Briar' but his Japanese accent wouldn't let him do it. His r's sounded very funny and he made the greatest face trying to pronounce it.
"I will call him Auro-sempai, its easy. So you and Auro-sempai are very good friends yes? I hope to have many friends. The new fables are different. Ure jumps a lot, she jumps over me. The bird girl say her name is Flerida. And the swimming boy is Rune."
He smiles as Kinnara told him about his house and wondered why he is so interested in his house.
"My home is not like yours. A cat is very clean and likes things in its place so I thought your home would be clean. My home is also clean. We do not have things like a couch or sofa. It is very different. Okaasan had it built to be just like home in Japan. Maybe you come over and see my home one day? I can make you fried tofu again."
He tilted his head a bit as Kin talked about his name.
"Should I call you Kinnara instead? I do not wish to be rude? Most people just call me Bijin, I have no nickname since it is a japanese word. Movies would be nice, what movies do you watch?

"No no it's okay to call me Kin if you want. I am often cleaning up my mother's mess. Though it is not hard to do. Anyways I have a lot movies and animes. My mother likes this anime called Fruits Basket. Have you ever heard of it." he said.
Kinnara then walked over to the dvd collection he had. "Anyways do you know anything about a Zodiac?"

"Hai! I like Fruit Basket! Momji is my favorite!"
Bijin happily walked along side Kin, still admiring his house and all the differences. When Kinnara asked about the zodiac he got confused. Well of course he knew about the Zodiac.
"Hai, I know of the Chinese Zodiac. I study it sometimes with my okaasan. My sign is the Dragon and hers is the Rooster. What is yours?"

"Well I am not the tiger if that is what you are thinking," he said sishing his tail side to side. He sigh in relief that he was not the year of the rat or he would have exploded with a bad temper. "What do you remember for the Zodiac. About the 12 animals. Was there one you remember not there?"

"Not there? Hmm...lets see. Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. But what was that story Okaasan told me. About a race of some sort. And one animal was left behind, while another was tricked into losing. By the rat! I remember that much."
He looked thoughtful, yet something in his eyes made it seem like years of wisdom was locked somewhere behind them. Then, inspiration after remembering Fruit Basket.
"The cat! The rat tricked the cat by using its own vanity against it. And it tricked the ox into letting it ride on its back so it could come in first. But why do you ask?"
He looked curiously at his friend.

"Well I am suprise you have yet to figure it out who I am," he said. "Everyone made it. Everyone but one." He then sat down and held in his hand Death Note the movie. "My sign nor I will ever be one with the Zodiac. "

Kinnara was the cat in that story? Well that was interesting but something occured to the Japanese Fable. As usual, he was going to come right out and ask what he was thinking. Bijin tilted his head a bit, looking at Kinnara. Then he kneeled down next to him and looked into his eyes.
"Why would you want to be in the Zodiac? Fame? Recognition? All of those come with a price I wouldn't be willing to pay. Everyone would expect you to be a certain way and never change. If you did anything outside of what you are suppose to do, then people would get mad. Then a bunch of people would try to be just like you and blame anything that happened to them on you being a certain way. What would happen to you? Would you be you any more? Or would you be what everyone else expects you to be?"
It was an honest question, or set of questions. Bijin couldn't fathom having to live up to everyone's standards and only act the way they say he was suppose to. Because he only did what made him happy, he didn't care much about what other people thought unless they tried to hurt him.

"No..Nothing like that," Kinnara said in a very serious tone of voice. He then held his knees to his chest with his hands. Kinnara still had the dvd in his right hand. "I don't care about things like that. It's just ............I dunno.........I was forgotten. I slowly fade away by each year. I lose a little part of myself each day that I live. And then she left me too. Those thousand of years ago. She left me for a high place in life. We told each other we would stay with one another no matter what, but then somehow they took her from me and change her heart."

Bijin listened to this with a quite sorta of reflection. To be forgotten, that would be hard if it was by someone you care. Bijin felt a form of loss in himself but yet he gained something from the loss as well. What it was he didn't know.
"If she truely loved you, then they couldn't have changed her heart. I believe love can do amazing things. It can change lives, it can bring the greatest things to light that we never have seen before, and it can heal wounds we never thought would close."
Then Bijin put his hand on Kinnara's. His face was a soft smile.
"And there is more than just the love of another. There is the love of family, the love of friendship, and the love of yourself. You only lose a piece of yourself if you give it away freely. You should love yorself because that is a love you will always keep. Nothing can take it away from you. And you are my friend, so you have the affection I will give you as long as we remain friends. I will not forget you. I give you my word on that."
He was completely serious as he said all this. Bijin always kept his word, no matter what the cost to himself was. It was something deep within him that he couldn't fight, nor did he want to. Kinnara needed a friend who would always be there for him. And if he could, Bijin would try to do that.

"Love may be one thing but if she defied the Jade God it would have been the the end of her. She had no choice in the world. That is proubley why I hate her the most and why everyone hates me in return. It seem this hatred is just me not being with her. Damn. Damn that rat. Slowly with each passing day I forget everything. Maybe one day I will be free but I know it will be a long path before that happens. Even I slowly forgot about her and all her sins. Til Aurora left me. It happen all over again. Forgotten and left behind. Just like that day."

Slender arms were suddenly wrapped around Kinnara's neck and the faint scent of jasmine was wafting under his nose. The soft silk of Bijin's kimono brushed against his hands as the young fox held the cat. Bijin hated to see his friend in what he thought to be so much pain. He didn't understand the concept of being hating merely because he was forgotten, but he understood the pain of fate's whim.
"Kin-sempai. You are not alone. I am here, the others are here. Auro-sempai may have left you but you are still not alone. Please do not be sad. Everything must leave eventually, nothing lives forever. But it will always be reborn elsewhere. If you can find it, then you will always have what you lost."
