He'd gone running from his father and the pretty green mare to find his mother. She'd be glad to know that he could beat his father in a race and that he'd come home when he was suppose to. Good old Sedi had come home while his father stayed to play with another girl.
"Mamma!" He skidded into the little clearing where they were staying and managed to get his feet under him before he crashed into her as he was prone to doing. One day he'd probably end up knocking either her or his father to the ground but at least now he was still small enough to not do much damage.

 The chocolate mare had been quietly grazing and watching the other children play as the day had gone on lazily. Remy had gone off with one of the colts which was fine in Kitara's book, after all, all the children could use some one on one time with their father.
Her small white tail flicked against her back side as she lazily lifted her head as she heard that cry come from her left. It wasnt a cry of urgancy, of fear, but one that never the less demanded her attention. "What is it?" She asked before her eyes rested on little Utsoasedi. She smiled at him and chuckled. "Did you beat your father back here?" she asked him as she looked past him, expecting to see Remy bursting from the forest at any moment.

"Uhhuh." He nodded as he pranced in place for a moment. "I'm gonna be fasta dan him in no time." He stuck his head up proudly. He'd be faster than is father and he'd prove he was better. That way his mamma would be proud of him.
"Doh.... dadda got distracted." He beamed up at his mother. "Pretty green lady friend made him stop an he tol me to leave dem alone"

Kitara laughed and chuckled at her son, nuzzling him affectionatly again. "haha, Yes Im Sure you'll race the wind and win someday. You've just got to practice. " she said, her face alight with motherly love.
Her face fell as she heard his last words. Green lady friend? "You mean... he told you to go away... he let you run all the way back here alone?" Kitara seethed with anger.. It was one thing to go off with a lady, It was another to leave their children alone in the woods while doing so. The mare set her jaw and snorted loudly.

"I'm gonna be stronger dan him one day." He puffed up proudly before he danced in a circle. "Den i'm gonna be betta friends wit' the ladies dan him."
When his mother asked about being sent home alone he stopped for a moment. "Yea. Said the lady was gonna say tings i didn need ta hear. So'e said should come home for you worried" He didn't think anything of his fathers words. If his father had told him to get home before his mama worried then he would go and he had.

Kitara's body litterally tembled with anger, she couldnt remember a time when she had been more irriateted. She smiled at her son never the less. "You did as you where told and thats good. " She didnt let on how mad she was at their father, after all it was none of their consern, and it wouldnt do to fight in front of the foals. But Heaven help Remy when he sauntered home.
She warrily eyed her son. "You're going to be better friends with the ladies huh? Just you mind their hearts son, lest you loose a lady thats close to you one day..." Her words held a bit more sorrow to them then she had intented, and she realised it did sting... the fact remy was with another mare.

"Ah wouldn't do none of that." He snorted as he pranced around her. "I know betta. Gotta treat da ladies like they as important as mamma." He stopped and scrunched his nose. "Nah .. not that importan." No lady could be better than his mamma.
"Green lady looked like she wanna play with daddy. He probably not gonna be as fun as ah could."

He had left the 'Green Lady' alone, wandering back through the woods feeling very... Defeated. Thoughts were whirling through his mind and there was that nagging voice confirming that he was unneeded... That he would go right back to being so now that the foals were a bit more independant. Now that...
His ears ticked towards the sound of his son's voice.
... Now that his son had probably gotten him into a world of trouble. More trouble with an uppercase 'T' that he'd have to explain. This wasn't how he wanted to talk to Kitara... That hadn't been how he'd wanted to talk to Rogue.
She was right. He was nothing but a horrible scoundrel.

Those innocent words from her sons mouth stabbed at her heart. "oh yes, Im quite sure she wanted to -play- with Remy... and that he wanted to play with her too." she said at length, though her voice lacked any Joy and sounded monotone. She huffed and nudged her son, as a smile once more tugged at the corners of her lips. "Just you remember to treat ladies right and You'll go far in life." she said.
The sound of hoof beats reached her ears again, She cast a glance at Remy and then turned her head away, pointedly ignoring him. In truth she couldnt so much as look at him right now, her belly knotted up and she snorted again.

He puffed up proudly again. "Gonna be tha best so yer proud o me." He danced around for a minuet before he noticed his father. Aww that meant that he hadn't gone to play with the pretty lady. He'd come back to fast for them to do anything fun.
Snorting he pranced toward Remy. "Thought ya was gonna go play? Can't play if yer here."

"Never said Ah was gonna play, Sedi... Said Ah had ta talk." He nosed the colt gently before casting his ember-like gaze towards Kitara. "An' now Ah need ta talk t'your momma... If she even gonna talk t'me." She wouldn't even look at him... Why would she talk to him?

"Aww thats sweet of you Sedi. " she smiled and tilted her head. "I suppose you best go keep an eye on your sister then, while Your father and I have a talk. " she nuzzled him gently once more and gave him a slight, yet affectionate tap on the rump.
The mare turned to look at Remy, and her amber eyes matched his Gaze, her eye brows furrowed softly and she only shook her head. She was going to explode.. "Before... You say anything Remy.. " she paused, better to choose her words carefully now, yet it was so hard as her body seethed with anger. "Im not mad you have met another mare... we never..laid guidlines to our relationship.. I just wish you had waited until the foals where older." She cleared her throat and took a Step towards Remy. "But If I EVER... Ever... hear that you tell one of my children to leave you alone so you can be with your girlfriend... and to run back home to me... alone..." she couldnt finish the thread, her voice cracked and she shook her head again. She was so angry she couldnt think strait. "I...ugh.. Remy."

"Yes'm" Happy to do something for his mother he trotted away to find where his sister had wandered off to. She didn't like it when he or his brother came to find her but at least if she was fussing at him then neither of them were getting in trouble.

She might notice that there was something missing from his gaze when her amber eyes met his fiery ones... There wasn't much 'fire'. It was almost as if something had gone out. He lowered his head, eyes 'focused on the ground beneath him. "Ah didn't want Sedi hearin' words he shouldn't be hearin' from anyone... She a friend, chere... She was a friend." He closed his eyes, feeling that pang of guilt twisting inside of him like he'd just drank too much icey water too fast.
"Ah... Need you ta tell me somethin', chere... An' Ah need you t'be honest... D'you need me? Ah mean really need me? IF it hadn't been for da foals would we have seen each other again after..." After everything that had happened between them? "Ah see you an' Ah think o' runnin' free... O' somethin' you'll be able to do again once those three trouble makers are old enough t'do da same... When they runnin' free ain't you gonna be too, chere?"

Kitara was still angry with him, but something in his tone calmed her enough to see the fact that he was hurting. Her stone faced gaze slowly sofened as she watched him and listened to his words. She didnt... need him per say... their visits with eachother had always been plesent and she couldnt think of how her life would be with out what he had taught her.
"remy... I may not have needed you... but that didnt mean I didnt want to be near you. We both ran free... we both ran our own lives, and yes these foals chain us down now, but not for long. They need you now, and I need you now. And they will always need you.... I will always need you too. My life would never be the same with out you in it. You can run free and still love and need the people close to you. There are invisable chains that bind us all together.."
