Edit: Updated August 20th So, I had my exam thingie and group B strep test. I have to say, this time, it was a little worse than expected.
There was so much pressure that it just hurt when he examined my cervix. I couldn't believe it because it hadn't hurt at 12 weeks or whenever I had my first exam. Of course, everything being so much bigger now, I can imagine.
Anyway, I'm 2 centimeters dialated, which is funny because I already beat my mom by the end of her pregnancy. She never dialated =P
My middle and lower back are very sore which I've chalked up to tense muscles. I've never had a tense muscle in my back before so the pain was scary, at first. I used a heating pad lastnight and it helped a bit. I also woke Mike up and had him rub my back right after the heating pad. But after a while, it hurt again so I don't know. I just took two tylenol to try to help. They haven't been working lately so I don't know.
I talked to my doctor about the cramping and back pain and he doesn't seem too concerned. Nor did either of us seem suprised that I was dialated a bit. Actually, everyone so far isn't =P
The cramping isn't too bad. When I notice it(and I do alot more often than at first)it's about two an hour, maybe. Sometimes it's one every few hours and other times it's been one every 22 minutes and then it's only those two and no more for hours. They're very irregular. They aren't very painful but I'm comparing them to my menstral cramps which are murder for me. On their own, they're probably a 3 out of 10, although sometimes they've been much more painful, it varries.
It still hurts to walk and again, my doctor doesn't seem too worried. That was one of the first things he asked about and he said he expected it to get worse, and it has gradually. If I get up from sitting or laying, it's painful in my hips and pelvis but after I get a few steps, I feel better.
So, my next appointment is next monday. I'm excited to see if I'll dialate anymore =D
Update: August 15/16th: Do you believe this? I'm ALIVE XD
We JUST got internet today. I've had such a hard time navigating Gaia but I think I have it down pretty well.
So, let's see...
I moved and have been very happy ever since. I went pretty quickly and got health care through my county and as soon as it was up(thankfully, it only took about 2 days), I called a very good clinic around here(Paul Larson OB-Gyn)and got an appointment.
I went to every appointment and I just love my doctor, she's wonderful.
I will say that I was extremely nervous for my first Ob-Gyn exam. It was my first ever. But it was honestly not that bad, I was shocked. I was prepared for the worst but it took less than 5 minutes and it wasn't bad at all. It's still the only one I've had but I have one this Monday at 36/37 weeks for my Group B Strep Test.
Mike's back now, and he has been for awhile. My Godmother and I drove and got him(and my bed <3)about two or three months ago. He's been coming to just about all my appointments since he moved here.
It took him awhile to get a job so he pretty much took the first one offered, which was Arby's. It doesn't pay much but he's only been there less than a month and he's first in line for shift manager, which is just wonderful.
My Grandmother offered him to live here for $300 rent and $100 food, which we can handle just fine. She enjoys having him here and it was actually her idea that he move in here. Before, we were planning on Mike getting a studio in the area.
The biggest drawback-we had to give our dog Copper away. That was very hard for Mike but we've both got past it and can look back with happiness on all the stories we have. We know it was for the best. We also gave our mice away but honestly, we weren't too attached. We kept the rabbit and the gerbil.
I had my first ultrasound at 18 weeks, which was on April 11th. We found out we were having a boy. Although we both wanted a girl, we were extremely excited to be having a boy. I thought I would be disappointed but I was much happier.
The only thing was that there were a few white spots over his heart which my doctor said could suggest Downs but with my being so young and my screening test coming back negative, she wasn't worried.
She did, however, order a second ultrasound four weeks laters because they couldn't get a good view of his spine. That was on May 9th. Most of the white spots had disappeared. There were around five at 18 weeks and at 22 there was only one. So, she wasn't worried at all.
Then about four or six weeks ago I found out my doctor was having a baby, too! She had forgot to tell me about that. I was really happy for her. It was her first, too. She had her baby August 1st and it's a little boy. So, I'm seeing a different doctor at the clinic until she comes back. He's a nice doctor but I've only met him once so far. My next appointment with him his Monday.
My Aunt and Godmother threw me my baby shower where I got a wonderful crib, carseat/stroller combo, crib matress, crib set(bumpers, quilt, sheet)and just tons of other stuff. We have just about everything we need, I think. And more than enough clothes. My brother's ex girlfriend gave me a huge amount of clothes(although she has two girls, there was alot of neutral stuff)as well as a bassinet that rocks and vibrates, a swing, and a bouncy seat.
I am going to work at some point. With my Mom also living here, she's offered to baby sit for me while I work. My only concern is she needs to have a surgery to remove a hernia she's had for 3-5 years(don't ask, she's just been too scared/stupid)and lately, it's been making it difficult for her to lift things. And now her back has been going out alot lately so leaving her home alone with my son makes me uncomfortable and Mike is pretty well against it.
However, my Grandma is very insistant that I have a job at some point. We talked and it's agreed that I get a job out of the house after my mom has the surgery and recovers. In the mean time, I will continue working on my GED and looking for jobs I can do over the internet. She's fine with this.
So, I'm now 36 weeks pregnant and getting so very anxious. The baby now has a pretty normal schedule when he sleeps and is active and it doesn't change too much. He squirms alot if I'm hungry though =D
I won't know for sure till Monday but I'm thinking that he has dropped. I feel alot of pressure low in my uterus that I can feel it in my v****a, I think. He's stopped me from going potty when he squirms >.>
It's very difficult for me to sleep, stand, walk, and sit. He isn't a big baby but he kicks with muscle. I'm anxious that he could come anytime. I'm hoping he doesn't, though. I'm ready for him but I think he could stand some more time inside =)
Wow, long post. Well, that's pretty much everything that's been going on since I left xD
Quick question-How did you all do on the Glucose screening test?
I did fine and everything, no diabetes but oh GOD that was hard. First time the numbers were a little high so I had to come back and do the second test where they give you more of the icky stuff. That didn't bother me but it was the fact that I couldn't eat for 12 hours before the test that hurt. Lately, if I don't eat for more than about 3 hours, I start to feel sick. Any more than that, I get worse and worse.
So, they took some blood from my finger, I drank the stuff and went out in the waiting room. I wasn't feeling all that great but I managed to make it to the second blood test an hour later. Almost right after that, I felt very light headed. Mike got a nurse and they got me to a room. The nurse meant well but I don't think she understood that I wasn't supposed to eat because she gave me a granola bar(I felt alot better after it!). So, I had to re-do the test again a week later.
Again, no food 12 hours prior. Took forever to drink that liquid(at least an hour to get the one little cup down). I finished most of it and I wasn't feeling so hot. They got me to a room to lay down on an exam table and nap till the blood test. I napped for a little while, rolled over and felt awful. I knew I was going to throw up but I was so calm about it that I was laughing. I got my flip flops on, hopped off the table, walked calmly to the bathroom, and puked all over the toilet xD I felt better afterward, though.
My doctor decided to just give me a OneTouch machine and asked me to check my blood for about a week and a half. The numbers were under what she wanted so I stopped testing, showed her what I had, and that was that. No more glucose drink xP
I thought this might be better than making threads for every question I have =D
New Questions
Old Questions arrow If you cook with wine, should you not eat what was cooked in wine if you're pregnant? arrow I was looking on WebMD about symptoms and saw 'pregnancy mask'. What's that? Is that what people talk about when a pregnant woman is 'glowing?' arrow I have looked in the phone book for free health clinics and I can't find many. I found one with a 'sliding fee'. I know what a sliding fee is but without insurence or income of my own right now, could I get care for free? I really need to get to a doctor for an exam! arrow What can I do for headches? A bath is too much hassle in a house with only one bathroom. arrow Nausea or morning sickness? I feel sick to my stomach but I haven't vomited. I couldn't eat much of anything today so all I've had was a huge plateful of spaghetti with tomato sauce, mushroom and onion pizza, and a yogurt parfait from McDonalds. I didn't think anything else would stay down. arrow Both Mike's parents have the flu, it seems. How can I tell the difference between my vomiting and nausea and the flu? How can I avoid the flu during my pregnancy? arrow When should cramps be worried about? Only when bleeding are alongside them or when they just hurt?

Most of the time if you cook with wine, the alcohol is boiled out. Also, generally there's enough of the actual food per ratio of the actual alcohol IF it is a dish that the alcohol isn't evaporated out. I make cream sauces all the time with wine or sauces and simmer it out.

-Pregnancy mask refers to melasma. Quote: Melasma (also known as chloasma or the mask of pregnancy when present in pregnant women) is a tan or dark facial skin discoloration. Although it can affect anyone, melasma is particularly common in women, especially pregnant women and those who are taking oral contraceptives or hormone replacement therapy (HRT) medications. It is also prevalent in men and women of Native American descent (on the forearms) and in men and women of German/Russian Jewish descent (on the face). With my first pregnancy, I had it on my neck, I thought I had 5 o'clock shadow, lol! -I don't know where you live, but have you checked into whether you qualify for Medicare or your state's version of it? With a sliding scale, it depends on their criteria. It might include everyone who lives with you's incomes. Edit: Hope you didn't mind, I checked out your profile to see. I found this link which also gives additional information on the clinic's criteria. One of them said it went by WIC guidelines, which if you want, it's easy to find the income guidelines for that. There was one specific for women and children on the list too. http://www.wisconsinmedicalsociety.org/resources/freeclinicdir.cfm

Yeah, pregnancy mask is NOT the glow. Pregnancy mask sucks. sad When people talk about a glow, it's partially because you have more blood in your body overall, and increased bloodflow makes for healthier looking skin.
As far as health care goes, at this point, I don't really know what to tell you. When I have some free time, I'll do some research.
You can eat food cooked with wine. The alcohol is cooked out, and even if a little tiny bit of it remains, it's NOT enough to do anything to you or the baby. You're fine.

@lunashock:Thankyou so much and no, I don't mind that you checked my profile =D It's there for a reason ^_^ Thanks for the link, I'm going to check the addresses and see what's close by =D
@Savina:The glow should be the mask, not fair that it isn't =( Is it a dead giveaway?

While I don't recommend reading the diet crap or the worst case scenarios (for your sanity), I highly recommend you go out and get "What to Expect When You're Expecting." It's at the very least, a good book for development and concerns.
www.safefetus.com is a great site for pregnant and BFing moms for what the status is on medicines to take. Also, your OB should give you (or ask for) a list of ok medicines to take. Generally, tylenol is safe to take.
If you're not throwing up, I'd be inclined to think it's nausea, but it is part of morning sickness. As long as you're able to keep something down and keep hydrated.

3nodding It sure is! Also, I know some doctor offices give out pregnancy books for free. If I didn't have it from my first pregnancy all ready, my OB offered it to me.
Unfortunately, if you have issues with throwing up, now is the time to face those issues. I didn't have hyperemesis (which is extreme "morning sickness"), but when I remember having gastreoenteritis so bad with my last pregnancy that I was just throwing up bile and my stomach was sore from it. I ended up having to go to the ER because I couldn't keep ANYTHING at all down.
Also, while I got over my morning sickness once I made it in my second trimester, I will warn that some women get sick during labor. With this last one, I was having my painful contractions and throwing up left and right (Which I wasn't administered it this time, but it's a common side effect of pitocin).
edit: Wanted to add on the nausea bit. I know I was really sensitive to smells, so I kept scents of candles that I knew wouldn't make me sick. I had a oatmeal cookie one burning a lot. xd

[writing from my Wii, so it'll be short!]
For nausea, try keeping some Saltines next to your bed and munch a few before you get up. Some women find that ginger [ew!] or peppermint candy or whatnot helps them out immensely. Most importantly, if it makes you sick, ban it! Being able to keep things down and absorb the nutrients is very important.

Oh yuck, I went through that when I was about 11 weeks along. Start small trying to drink gatorade or something light. Take small sips and work your way to more every few minutes or so. If you can't keep it down, I'd head in for the doc. Phenegran helped when I had that yucky gasteroenteritis.
