Introduction

There are many balls in the Underground hosted by nobility, this is just another ballroom full of swirling colors, intricate masks, intoxicated dancers, angry young women, and dashing young men seeking romance.

All of the well-known nobility of the land have been invited so this event should turn out to be quite interesting.

Prince Charming gazed around the ballroom contentedly. He was surrounded by a group of particularly lovely ladies and he was very jubilant at the moment. People were pratically worshipping him here and he loved it. Charming held his intricate mask up to his face to peer through it at the women who giggled excitedly. They were all obviously drunk, the prince peered at them with undisguised disdain, it was so early in the evening yet they already had the strong scent of achohol on their breaths. None of them noticed his disdain and kept giggling and complimenting him. At least drunks were good enough with their compliments. Charming surveyed the ballroom again, he was itching to dance with some lovely princess, but he saw no one.

Lord Leoven of Orczy eyed the room with more than a little disaproval. He hated social occasions at teh best of times but this type of revelry was just beyond him. For the moment he had avoided the intoxicated guests and was now leaning against a pillar at the side of the ballroom and quite frankly felt a bit like a wallflower. Jareth, who was supposed to be his guardian during his stay in this land had arrived with him and then promptly disapeared to goodness knows where, leaving him on his own with noone that he could recognise.

Caspian was was returning triumphant. He had arrived at the appointed locatin, and had automatically made a move to locate his astranged relative, and had eben somwhat dissappointed when he had failed to find the man.. thus, he little quest.
He had followed one lead and another, and had soon enough been able to apprehend the rogue king in the gardens of the fine estate, and was currently leading him back towards the party.
"Come on now old boy!" He stated jovially,
"You cant just leave as soon as you arrive, its just not propper, why, did you even introduce yourself? Of course not, and now you'll have to presented with me, how terrible for us both!" He was in fine humour today, as always.. and the chance to see Jareth, and all the finery of the party made him specifically happy.
"Its such a charming location, isnt it?" he asked, still grnning from ear to ear.

Jareth scowled at the Pirate King and thanked the stars that there was no actual genetic similarity between them. Had they been blood relatives he would have run for the hills a long time ago.
"I had a headache, and merely went out for some fresh air." he replied curtly "But I'm afraid it's back now."

I bring many things with me dear friend. He stated with a smile, tugging the goblin kings arma little as he dragged him back through the large doors into the ballroom.
"Besides, word says you have a guest with you, manners should hardly dictate you being outside now, should they!" He feigned a shocked expression..
"I mean, losing your guests in the labrynth is one thing, abandoning them at parties is somthign far more heinous!" He settled his hat more firmly on his head and waved the mask in his hand at Jareth.
"I do so hope you have yours, I'd hate to have you feel naked among the crowds.." He smiled slight at the other again, an entertained expression.

Jareth made a small hurumphing noice and held his rather morose looking leather mask to his face holding it by an ornate brass handle. It was true that it had been rude of him to leave Leoven on his own like that, especially among a culture that he didn't know or understand. The boy could have made a complete prat of himself by now and everyone would blame him for it as per usual. He sighed with frustration and descended the marble steps that lead to the main dance floor.

Leoven had become obscenely bored with watching people and picking bits of fruit off his cocktail stick. He was about to give and see if there was some way he could leave without being noticed when his host reappeared being dragged by a rather unusual man with a flamingo feather srouting from his hat. Still not sure what he was supposed to be doing, the young nobleman approached the pair curiously.

Caspian finally releaced Jareth as the young man began approaching them. He had only heard vague rumours from his sources about Jareths guest, it wasnt maddive news after all, but he was a curious, almost nosey man, and so this sort of thing really appearled to him.
"Greetings!" he stated brightly, ignoring Jareth for the moment,
"My Name is Caspian Aureleius! Its a pleasure to meet you!" he swet the hat from his head and dipped in an elegant bow, just the kind he was prone to...
"The infamous pirate King!" This was added in good humour, a smile on his face as he said it.
"I dont believe we have met before."

Leoven looked slightly bemused but returned the bow with one of his own.
"No I don't believe we have." he replied "I doubt I would be able to forget someone as.......colourful as yourself. I'm Lord Leoven of Orczy, form the Unseelie court."

"Ah! Quite the unusual guest then.." Caspian stated thoughtfullly,
"What brings you to us here then M'Lord?" he flicked his eyes over to Jareth for a moment, and shook his head.. his.. friend... wasnt the worlds most conversational fellow, he noted that.
"And how are you finding it here? I hope Jareth is treated you well!" No foramlity at all in the way the Rogue King talked about his distant kin.

Leoven nodded "Yes, I have been treated well and my stay has been very enjoyable so far, although there are many things I do not yet understand." he smiled nervously, noting how angry his host was looking at that moment. "And as for why I'm here, the King sent me to discuss the new trading laws that are being organised."

Jareth shook his head slightly. The boy was far too polite for his own good.

Charming gazed around the ballroom silently. The chatter was starting to get on his nerves slightly, meaning he obviously needed more wine. He made his way to a table the was laden with refreshments and took a glass that was filled almost to the rim with some exotic, intoxicating treat that would get his head spinning. He then strutted about and cast his glance over to two men who seemed to be chatting merrily. This piqued his curiousity and he soon walked smoothly over after taking a long 'sip' of his beverage. "Hello gentlemen." He said, announcing his obvious presence.

Jareth's eyes looked up to the new arrival with more than a little annoyance. It was that hedonistic little human prince that had somehow wandered into their land and not gone away. However they had never really talked to one another so the prince did not pose any kind of immediate threat to his patience. And who knew? Maybe the lad would be able to hold down a conversation, he already made a lot more sense than Caspian and he'd only said hello. Perhaps he could tentatively find some common ground to alieviate his bored, they were both....blonde, that was a start.

"Er...good evening, your highness. Might I congratulate you on such an excellent gathering." he replied.

Prince Charming turned to the Goblin King with a smile. "Thank you." He replied in a calm, contented voice full of harmony. He felt almost anxious in the presence of Jareth for, from his standpoint, no particular reason. The prince folded his hands to keep from fretting about and merely gave Jareth the most charming little smile he could muster. Hopefully this man wasn't the type to shun such behavior, but Prince Charming just wasn't too big on starting conversations. It was a flaw that women had largely pointed out again and again as he met them. Of course, Jareth wasn't a woman so it was really a question as to how the king expected a young little human prince to act.
