Cordain made his way into the park carrying Halcyon in his arms, who consequently carried his crystal paper weight in it's pouch like always. The boy sound asleep at the moment in his father's arms.

Cordain's step took it slowly, one steep at a time towards a bench where he sat himself down and held the sleeping white haired boy in his arms. "You sure do sleep alot Halcyon. I guess I named you appropriately for the only times you've even thrown a fit is when that crystal got too far away."

Papina had managed to wrang some time away from home after a rather long discussion with her mother and had decided to spend her hard-earned time at the park. She had found just the perfect sunning spot and literally planted herself there. Sunning alone was good, but sunning with both hands and feet in the dirt was even better. No doubt she was getting odd looks when people noticed her, but she didn't see, nor did she care. She was going to enjoy herself, no matter what.

Halcyon's eyes snapped awake as he suddenly crawled out of Cordain's lap. He saw something that interested him and he walked over across the field right to Papina. He stood there, holding his crystal paperweight as he looked at her quietly, he didn't say a word as prismatic eyes watched Papina.

Cordain stood and made his way following Halcyon to Papina and raised an eyebrow, "A plant child...wonder if she's another one of these scroll children like Halcyon." the dark elf mused as he crossed his arms to watch the interaction between the tw.

She didn't even notice Halcyon, having become half-asleep in the sunlight. The dark shadow falling over her as the crystal child's guardian followed behind his charge - now that got her attention. "Mmmmmm?" She questioned lazily, her brain not quite up to speed yet. She opened her eyes into mere slits, wondering who it was that had noticed her this time... Now who was this? Familar sensation meant another scroll child, which meant she could be passive at the moment. Her eyes opened wider to take in more as she quirked an eyebrow in Halcyon's direction, wondering what this new distraction would do.

Halcyon looks up at Papina as he seats himself down in her shadow. He just gives her a lazy, faint smile as he sat there. Cordain sat down next to his child as he looks at Papina with violet eyes, "My son seems intrigued by you plant child. My guess is you were born from a scroll too."

Halcyon looks up at Cordain and nods his head before he scoots closer to Papina and holds his little hand out to her.

Papina gave up on getting any sleep and opened her eyes all the way. She withdrew one root-like hand from the dirt and shook it for a moment to get all the loose dirt off before she held her hand palm-up under Cordain's. Crystal shouldn't have any reactions to the oils of poison ivy, so it should be okay for him to touch her. She sneaked a glance at the crystal's guardian. "Yes," she said, confirming what he had guessed. She turned back towards the crystal child, peering at him with semi-controled curiosity. "My name is Papina," she offered, hoping to get the other to introduce himself.

Halcyon tilted his head and remained silent as he watched Papina, curiosity glinting in his eyes. However he sat there, remained where he was as he held his pouch with the crystal paperweight in it. He remained perfectly and utterly calm. Eerily calm at that.

Cordain sat on his haunches and watched Papina himself with his violet eyes, "...His name is Halcyon, he doesn't speak much even to his father." he says to Papina, "He only really speaks or makes vocal noises when his crystal gets too far away from him."

Hmmmmm... As far as she knew, the scroll children weren't suppose to be attached to anything... A sinking feeling started to settle in her stomach and Papina fought to hide her unease. Only speaks or makes sounds when his crystal gets too far away? Something's not right here. Not right at all. Could he have a bond with the crystal? Nara unseals all the scroll children - that's why none can be unsealed if she isn't around. I suppose if we are to have a bond with something, it would be with Nara herself, but... "Why would Nara bond a scroll child with an object - even one that is of their element?" she mused out loud, not really expecting an answer.

Cordain tilts his head, white hair falling to the side as he grins, his teeth shock white against his black skin, "...Miss, didn't unseal Halcyon...he came in contact with the crystal paper weight and his scroll tube shattered as he came to life."

Halcyon looks up at Cordain briefly, then turns prismatic eyes back to Papina to silently watch her as he nods his head in affirmation of what Cordain had just said.

Papina jerked back in shock at the news - her eyes went round and the leaves on top of her head started to quiver in alarm. A scroll child not unsealed by Nara? Wait... Was he unsealed after Nara vanished? She was briefly tempted to reach for the bow and quiver hidden under her nearby cloak, but she told herself that the Templars had no part in this and were not about to close in on her. "Nara... didn't... unseal him?" Her voice - once she could speak - was wavery, uncertain. Bad. Very bad. They needed to find Nara soon so she could straighten this out.

He nods his head, "I'd keep your hands away from your weapon little girl, I'm not a human myself." he pulls back white hair to reveal elven ears. "I've killed monsters, you're just a little girl so..."

He then reaches over and picks up Halcyon, "Nara, the people at the library mentioned her and were shocked by Halcyon's birth...I am guessing I should assist in locating her to find out more about Halcyon's nature?"

Papina blinked as she looked closer at Cordain. Was he a... she searched for the word... drow elf? She drew herself back into the conversation to hear the question. "Ah... yes." She paused, before adding, "There's this... group... that claims to have taken her..." She looked around them warily. "My own guardian now insists that I leave the house at all times with this." She waved at her cloak and all it hid as she said this before giving a wry smile. "She's a bit freaked out over all this."

He nodded his head slowly, "I understand. They are probably amateurs if they haven't made demands and a system for the demands to be met." he stood as he held Halcyon in his arms. "Maybe I should find out who they are and perform a free assassination of them for you all since you need this Nara so much and I probably should speak to her as well."

Cordain tilted his head as he looked at Papina, "Yes, I am a drow."

Papina snorted. "Actually, the group call themselves the Templars, and they just hate the guts of anyone belonging to Musaeum. Something about us scroll children or other... My guess is they hate us for religious reasons and simply want to destroy us because we don't fit in with their theories. So any demand would likely be something along the lines of 'die nicely now or die later in pain' type of thing." She rolled her eyes. "People can be such tightwads at times..." She blinked as he confirmed that he was a drow. He could read minds? Eeep...

He laughs at her reactions, "No no, if you're thinking I read minds, no I don't, you're just very obvious with your thoughts upon your face and how you react." He sits down holding the now sleeping Halcyon.

"Hmmm...Templars...Guess I'll have to seek them out and begin removing them because I won't allow them to impede me or my son's growth and life." he states as he looks at her.

A cold grin crosses his lips, "Besides, I doubt they're immune to sniper rounds and decapitation."
