Black hooves struck the ground, their passage near soundless in the few inch deep powdery snow. Their owner was glad to be able to run again; limping around all the time was a drag not to mention painful. Well, the cut was healed now, though still hairless and he needn't ponder further on how the delay had frustrated him.
The fertile plains of D'ob lay behind and the end of his journey ahead.
Pupiless eyes smiled faintly and the Ichsa stallion stretched his stride a little. Soon he would see the mighty ocean stretched before him, infinite in size and beauty. Or so it was said. Within the week, with any luck and if Nyx had been right about the distance, he would be able to judge for himself.

 Chandara stared out at the ocean, black eyes glanced across the endless sea. She have a mysterious smile and turned her dark blue wings swayed gently. The mare tossed her head with a light laugh, she was to meet someone today, the mare did not know who or what they were just fate had decided she was to meet someone. So there she was waiting for the one whom she was to meet.
Sure enough after a little while she began to hear hoofbeats. "Welcome" she called a mystical air to her voice. Although the stars just began to appear in the darkness of the night to brighten it. The moon shone behind her.
"I am Chandara," she called with a toss of her purple mane, her tail was unusual for an Icsha it was more lion like than everyones. She was different among her kind the Icsha. most found her strange, she wondered what this one would think of her.

It occurred to Maurice fleetingly that Nyx had been wrong or he was travelling far faster than she deemed normal. The thought was soon pushed aside however as the stallion slowed to a halt at the cliff's edge.
It was... perfect.
Maurice stared, captivated, at the rolling body of water below him as it whispered up and down the darkened beach. Words had not even come close to saying how big and how beautiful it was. It had definitely been worth all the waiting; he couldn’t imagine ever wanting to be anywhere else ever again.
...But wait. Something nagged at the corners of his mind. A voice. A Nequus. Maurice turned his head and felt his stomach twist into a sick knot. It was just his luck that somebody was here to break his silence, to take away his moment the one moment that he would have given all the world to be alone for.
The Ichsa watched her toss her mane in silence.
For him to speak with his mortal tongue at this of all moments was unthinkable.
His moment; the she had killed his moment and he could never have it back.
Maurice turned his eyes back to the sea, half expecting it to have gone. No, there it still was and the second sight took his breath away as much as the first.
...Maybe she hadn't. Maybe it couldn't be killed, taken by any chance encounter with a stranger.
Of course it couldn't. Maurice smiled faintly to himself, internally berating himself for thinking that small creatures such as he and this mare could mar the endless glory of the moonlit ocean.
"Hello, Chandra," he said, feeling somehow more confident in the presence of another than he ever had. "Thank y' for y' welcome but it's not needed. No words o' yours could make me feel more welcome than this view already 'as."
Hopefully she wouldn't take that badly but if she did, then let her. It was of no great concern if she did, not now that he was finally here.

"The sea will not go anywere" Chandara gave a smile "I am sorry I have destrubed you." She bowed her head "If you want I can leave and you may have your moment again" Chandara looked quite wise, she spoke of things she felt not that she knew. The mare took a few steps into the silent water away from the other Ischa
The mare bowed her graceful head again, her purple mane flowed over her black eyes. She knew he didn't mean any insult by what he had said so she took none. Chandara's unusal tail flicked from side to side contently as she gazed out across the ocean her her wing tendils floated silently.

Maurice flicked one ear in a shrug. "I'm sure I wouldn' 'ave y' go out y' way f' me." Something about this other Ichsa's manner grated on him, though he showed not a sign of it to the outside world. Her words felt condescending, things one would throw to an irrational foal. Of course he knew that much water wasn't going anywhere, his head did in any case and hearts were foolish things.
"I expect you've more right t' be in this piece of the world than I do," the stallion said, exactly what he had meant by the words unclear from his neutral yet pleasant tone. Perhaps she would become less aggravating as he spoke to her more.
Pupiless eyes watched the strange, restless tail in its flickings. Does she 'ave a nervous tick or what? Why the 'ell does she 'ave a tail like a Rit anyway? I don' see them lashin' 'em all the time so it's not the kind of tail. Hu. Maybe she wants me to go. Fat bloody chance.
What were his chances if she decided to attack him? Fair, probably, but as ever, the idea of conflict made him edgy. Fighting was to be avoided wherever possible.

She stopped her tail and turned to smile at him apoligeticly she felt she had annoyed him with her tail. And what did that mean? Chandara wondered, that she had more right than he to be here? "What could a kind soul like you have done to have less right than the rest of us to come to such a place" she asked him quietly.
"I take it" she paused for a moment "You find my tail strange." she sighed and continued staring out into the ocean. It was so calm this night, the moon shone brightly high in the glorious sky. Chandara smiled she sky always seemed so welcoming. Except when it was Stormy. She wasn't agrivated in the least, her demenor was calm and seemingly all knowing, wise.

Maurice took his eyes away from the mare with a soft snort to stare back down at the sea far below. "Do you want me t' find y' tail strange?" he quizzed, tearing his gaze for the sight once more to quirk a brow at the other Nequus. She certainly seemed to want him to comment. "I'll give y' it ain't normal," he went on, "but tha' doesn't obligate me t' find it special y' know. Kinda used t' things tha' don' look quite 'normal', what with my eyes not havin' any pupils." Silly little girl.
The Ichsa stallion shook his head slowly, his mind wandering back to her previous words. "An' whoever said I 'ad a kind soul? I might be a vicious foal murdering b*****d f' all y' know. No offence, miss, but I tend t' take it badly when strangers think they can know me by looking at me f' all of two minutes. Call me crazy but I don' like t' be judged by my exterior."

I don't really mind that we've been moved to the sea but as you didn't state where Chandra was precicly I placed them on the cliffs as that makes it more plausible for Maurice not to have seen that he was approaching the ocean.))

Maurice sighed and tried to make himself relax; flying off into a temper would do him no good, would probably get him hurt. The moments when something in the back of his mind growled for blood and violence were few and far between now and fortunately he was able to quash them almost all the time, as he had now, without a flicker of it showing to the outside world.
"Name's Maurice, Chandara, an' I apologise f' bein'... eh, snappy, tetchy or whatever. Yes, honestly I ain't seen a tail like yours on a Nequus before but it's jus' an observation, yea? It don' change what I think of y' or how I'll judge y' words an' actions. 'sides; I think it's kinda cool really," he told her with a smile, nodding at the appendage in question.
The blue-coated stallion turned his gaze back out to the sea and smiled faintly. "Stories don' really come close t' tellin' how lovely it is, do they? Y' been around the coast f' long?"
Hopefully they could get along a little better now, provided he managed to keep his pride in check and avoid becoming nervous of the female Ichsa.

"A pleasure Maurice." Chandara smiled "It's alright, Maurice every one has a bad day once in a while." She blew her forelock out of her face again. Her whispy wing tendrils flowed gracefully in the darkness
"Nay it does not, everything always seemed to be much mroe beautiful when you are there to see it personally." Chandara smiled in agreement. "I have been here a good while." came her reply "I do enjoy the beauty of the ocean on a dark night."
"What abotu you Maurice?" she inquired "what brings you out on this night to see the glorious seascape?"

The curly-maned stallion smiled, thank all Gods things were going better now, and looked back at the ocean. "I've wanted t' come 'ere f' quite a long time now. I was born up north an' lived there when I was young but... circumstances," that nobody was ever finding out about if he could help it, "caused me t' leave."
The stallion turned his pupiless gaze back onto the other Ichsa and flashed a brief smile. "I travelled about with some other males f' a while 'till I got separated from them too. Weren't long after that when I 'eard about the ocean and decided t' go see it. I got a bit... delayed," another thing he wouldn't be telling about in a hurry, "so it's taken me a while but... Well, yea I'm 'ere now; this is the first time I seen it."
Had he answered her question? The tri-star marked Ichsa frowned internally. He was fairly sure that he had. If he'd been unclear or answered a question he thought she'd asked rather than one she really had however, she would probably ask again so it didn’t matter overmuch.

Chandara wasn't one to stay angry. She nodded and gave a brief smile as she listened, Chandara wouldn't ask about them though, she senced there was sme unease within.
"I just felt like coming, fate brought me here." she told him. "And yes you have answered my question" she said.
