I don't get what's so great about them... Almost everyone I asked said that Line 6 amps were the best... Okay, so I went to guitar center and tried one of those Spider III's out... Okay, sounds nice... big deal. Compared to the other amps I tried out, the sound just sounds more digitalized. >.< I'm not particuarly bashing Line 6... I like them and all, it's just... what makes them so much better then... Fender or whatever?

For some, they like the amps because they're versatile. For me, (and most likely you) I want something that is at least good at one thing, not half-assed at a bunch of things. The digital sound is disappearing from my mind, and I'm quite glad of it. I'd really like to get my hands on a Mesa Boogie or a Carvin Guitar amp, all tube circuitry. That's what sounds good to me now.

alot of people like them for 2 reasons 1)they are versatile(jack of all trades, master of none) 2)they have never played through anything better, most people i know that own them have those as there first and second amp(second being a higher wattage for band and shows) so they dont know what undigital sounds like

That's why I got a pod. I didn't know any better and having all of those models seemed super awesome. Now, they just feel kind of empty and sterile. I suppose that works out for some styles though.

x___x the only line 6 thing I'm considering getting is the PODXT Live... But I don't think I'll need it anyway...
My friend's already letting me use his Fender amp anyway... Works alright for me...

That's what I have. I'm incredibly happy with it. I just wish it could record directly through a usb cable. If it can, help please!

DigitalTrowa That's what I have. I'm incredibly happy with it. I just wish it could record directly through a usb cable. If it can, help please! I heard of it being able to do that, but I haven't seen it actually done... Maybe you should read the instruction manual? Which is another thing. I like my amps to be simple and not so... "Wtf am I doing?" >.<

Lately I've found I'm writing really hollow sounding songs on it. Death and ice themes and what not. You just have to go with their strength. Unfortunately, it doesn't lend to lots of beautiful sounds.

I have a huge Line 6 Spider II and it works like a charm. I hear no digital-ness in the noise.

I'm a big fan of the Line6 Flextone. They have a really nice vintage look and I think they sounds really good, in comparison to the Spider. They have one in my local music shop which I go to and play guitars every chance I get.
I would really like a Carvin amp, but I can't afford one at the moment and I would be real disappointed at not being to play it at a high enough volume to reach the amps "sweet spot" without blowing the windows in my home haha.
Also i'm not a fantastic player so I don't think I could a great amp justice.
So I'll stick with my Marshall MG15 and my Floor POD right now haha.

I have a Line 6 Spider III and it works like a charm. I hear no digital-ness in the noise either. It might be that their other models are lousy. When I bought my Line 6, I was also trying out a Marshall and a Fender. The fender sounded OK, but was too expensive, the Marshall sounded OK with my ESP, but totally flunked on my Strat, and the Line 6 sounds great with both of them. The only problem I have with the Line 6 is that my acoustic Takamine doesn't agree with it too well.

I don't know about Line 6, I got a podXt Live, and the thing froze up on me, got it for 300 though, but its like a waste of money, cuz it is hard to find a place that will fix it, and customer service for line 6 sucks. Better off getting an all tube amp that is easy to work on. Solid State Sucks!! Once it breaks it like costs just as much as the amp to fix.
