The sand was harder then normal, though cooled from the water of the oasis, the burning sensation from it seemed to pass his paws completely, running up his long legs, and into his chest, where it would torment his very heart. though he had reason to believe it was not the warm sand that was causing this pain. he lowered his eyelids slightly, his regal posture devolving slightly as he slumped his head down, his nose inches away from the water. he didn't know how long it had been since she had run away, far to long. his daily paroles, seemed almost pointless, since nothing ever happened, and he was starting to lose hope. hope... his hope... "what did I do" he breathed to the water, refusing to look into his reflection

It had been long...far too long for Elina's liking. Yet she was so stupid, that whatever pain her paws felt as she glided along the sand was dull compared to the ache in her heart. That night was stuck in her memories, the painful letdown that the one she had been so devoted to and amoured with as a child, didn't even return her feelings. How could he? He was a strong and amazing adult, he would need nothing from a child as herself.
...yet she was no longer a child.
Sometime during her time in the deserts, the matured child had become a dazzing adult - yet she felt no glee for her lifelong dream. No....her flame for that dashing, noble prince had become embers, yet her hope would never lay and die. She wanted, no, needed to be close to him....she would protect the justice he held so high in his life with all the hope in her body. As the familliar sights of the temple came into view, the femme sighed, keeping her steps light and nimble. Perhaps she would see someone she knew?

Slow he had made his was into the water. soaking his sore legs, and in an attempt to extinguish the fire that was cruelly licking at his heart, he lowered himself into the oasis, submerging his head and antlers for a moment, before coming back up and as he often did when he was feeling lost of down, dragged his body towards the shore, laying his head on the wet sand, with his other half still laying in the water. it swelled back and forth over his orange fur, he tried to concentrate of the feel of the water. but his mind would only drift back to Elina... and how much he missed her. he was no where near as wise as he wanted to be.

Rolling her head over to the side as her thoughts drifted in and out of order, the two toned Maluess spotted one other familliar spot - Amadeus's Oasis. She remembered the few times she met him there...for that was actually the first time she caught eye of that handsome male. Sighing with a soft smile on her face, the memories were sweet in her mind...moreso than if she hadn't met him in the first place. Deciding to take a quick rest before the final walk to the Temple, Elina shifted course and headed to the Oasis.
Feeling the grass on her paws was a welcome treat from the hot sands and scorching, unrelentless sun on her back. The cool scent of water lingered in the air, which drew the Maluess towards the large pond. Almost too tired to notice, her head dipped down to lap at the refreshing liquid...then she noticed the ripples in the usually placid waters. Raising a brow, her eyes trailed the surface till it reached the disturbance on the shore...none other than the Malu who wouldn't leave her thoughts. A small gasp escaped her lips as her aching heart skipped a beat, lifting her head tall as she spoke softly; yet knew he could hear her.
"Amadeus....?"

at first he though the voice was a figment of his imagination... but... no. it sounded familiar... but different, he lifted his head up off the sand, staring down at his paws, as droplets fell from his chin onto them. then considering again... if maybe that voice was not just in his head. he Proceeded to turn his head in the direction.
everything froze when he saw who was standing on the other side of the oasis. mouth opening ever so slightly in surprise, eyebrows raising. "Elina?" he said, in a slightly deeper voice then he had before she left. quickly pushing himself to his feet he stood feet in the water, dripping.
she was definitely not the little Elina he remembered so well. she had grown up allot... and just as Vivaldi had predicted, she was stunning. "Elina... you... your back"

It was slow motion as he turned around to gaze upon her, she was for but a moment curious to his suprised stare....yet with a giggle she remembered she had grown. Casting her gaze to the water for a moment, she allowed her eyes to warm like they were as a child before turning them back to Amadeus as she treaded on the shore towards him. "Amadeus...your voice has deepend, yet it suites you all the same." She spoke, her vocals smooth and soft rather than high and childish. Even her graceful movements left behind all that of her childhood, only left with the same glitter of hope in her eyes.
Only upon reaching him as she stood before him, did she grace his question with an answer. "I'm back...how could I stay away forever? This is my home, and everyone I hold dear is here....I couldn't survive any other way." She mused gently, almost sadly. "Besides, even though I needed a break, I did promise to uphold justice, and I will do so no matter what." She put on a smile, despite the bad memories of rejection that promise tended to uplift when spoken about.

he did not take his eyes off of her the entire time she was moving around the Oasis, nor did he say a single word. it was only when she was standing in front of him and after she answered did he let his eyes trail down to the sand, his head face slightly. he had made a young mistake... a confused mistake, one that he had expected to have stayed with him as a life long lesson. a punishment for his actions. his jaw tightened as he bit down on his teeth, the truth was... he had not expected her to come back. not after how he had hurt her, but now, she was standing in front of him, smiling her beautiful smile, her eyes bright as they always were, acting as if nothing had happened.
after a moment his jaw stopped tensing, and a polite smile replaced it. looking back at her, head held high as it always was he looked at her, his eyes happy, though with a sad, sorry look to them. "I'm glad your home Elina" he said gently

Oh how his eyes haunted her, their happy demeanor breaking as she could see the sorrow behind them. Was that regret for what had happened that night..or was there something else on his mind? It almost broke her heart more to see him like this than to not see him at all. Tilting her head to the side for a moment, she knew he did not return the feelings still harbored in her torn heart...yet that did not stop her from reaching out in hopes to comfort.
Slowly dipping her head down, she moved to run her body under his chin, tilting her head back to rest upon his shoulder in a type of hug. "I am glad too, Amadeus. I reach out to you as a friend, and confidant....I....I would like to return to how things...were." Oh what a lie she spouted from her lips...yet it was the best she could do for him, in hopes that would soothe whatever remorse was behind those eyes.

his head beat very fast as she brushed herself against him. though his fur was still wet. he could feet how soft hers was. closing his eyes, and wearing a pained expression as he leaned into her hug, running the side of his face against her. taking in the familiar sent of her fur,
he was a fool.
his heart let out a particularly painful stab as she spoke again. it had taken him a long time... and allot of rose petal dinners with Vivaldi to figure out just how he felt... and to be truthful... he didn't want to return to how things were. he did not say anything. eyes still closed he slid his head up her shoulder and neck, then let it slide back down, off of her, hanging as if defeated he took several deep breaths. he did not want to go back to the way things were.

Awaiting to hear the words which would seal the deal of their imminent friendship, her ears perked as they never came. Opening her eyes lightly, she could feel his gentle stroke with his muzzle, yet that was all there was untill his head hung. Was he angry at her? Her heart paused for a moment at the mere thought, which was quickly dismissed. What had she done wrong...the contact did not seem to be it or else he would have jumped back immediately. Her words...the only thing she could find wrong was...if he did not want to go to how things were. Yet was that not what he wanted? Or could it be that he changed...no. But god, she wished that was the truth behind this conundrum.
Clearing her throat lightly as a soft blush settled on her cheeks, she knew she couldn't just come out and say it...her own words hurt too much with memories of last time. However, if there was one thing that she enjoyed out of growing up...was that she could sing. "Hey love...that's the name we've long held back, from the core of truth......So don't turn away now, I am turning in revolution. These are the scars that silence carved on this heart..this is the fate you've carved on me.." She paused for a moment, turning and using her head to lift his head high were it always belonged in her mind. "They've given up believing, yet i'm still here reaching. Hey love...is that the name you're meant to have, for me to call...?" She slowly drifted off the song, her orange orbs peering into his own with question..and nervousness.

her voice took his breath away, to pure, strong, and beautiful. and it was her, tears slowly leaked from his closed eyes. and as she lifted his head back up high, they flowed down his cheek, and onto her muzzle. he opened his eyes, watching at her as she sang. and did not do anything for a while as she stopped. keeping his head high, he could not seem to talk. just stared at her... the one he only had eyes for. the only one he had ever loved... and the only one he ever would love.
still not saying anything, he strode forward, stepping into her, and running teh side of his face down her neck. "I was a fool" he said, though his voice was strong, is had a weakness to it.

It was funny what love could do, it could tear packs, tear hearts...it can render the happiest under depression, and cause such pure tears from the strongest of Malu like the ones upon her muzzle. The moment was touching, as she lifted her head up to see his tear stained face...even under the tears he was still as noble and handsome as ever.
When the next moment came, Elina inhaled sharply as her breath was caught in her throat as his headmoved along her neck; his words echoing in her ears. Usually not one to be emotional, she could not help the welling of her own tears in her orange orbs...long awaited tears of overjoyed happiness to hear those words; or at least their meaning. Choking back from the sob which threatened, her body returned the leand against him as she nuzzled her head against his fur despite her own tears. "No, no Amadeus....Please don't be down heartened, It doesn't matter to me now, I'd forgive you a thousand times over need be.." She whispered, leanding her head up to n** gently at one of his ears, capturing ever moment in her memories - ones which she would never forget.

he did not say anything for a while. until he was able to get a hold of himself. bringing his head back up, resting the side of his face against hers her let out a sigh. "I don't deserve someone like you. I feel like I should be punished for such an unjust, unwise act, but all this time the God of Justice just let me go." he swallowed hard, but when he spoke again, his voice was still strong. "it never felt right saying that to you... and it never felt right being with out you. and i'm sorry it took me so long to figure that out" he brushed back a bit, lowering his face in front of hers "I'm sorry... I'm nothing with out my Hope" he lifted his face up, eyes looking into hers. dignified eyes, that still glimmered with sorrow "I'm nothing with out you"

"Shhhh..." Elina spoke after he had finished, lifting her paw and placing it against his lips with an understanding smile. "I don't blame you...I was young and really...headstrong. I might have been a little too bold in my actions towards you, besides, you are older than I...I can see perhaps what you did." She chuckled lightly, oh how bold and rather outward she was with her emotions; it was an amusing memory.
"Besides...There is nothing in the way now, we'll be together, and thats what i've wanted for so long." She purred happily, feeling like she could float if her paws wern't clutching to the ground. Leanding forewards, she did what she had wanted to for since she first discovered her feelings for the Prince was true; she kissed him.

everything seemed to stop in that one moment. closing his eyes, he stepped forward, closer towards her, kissing her softly back.
this is what he was missing in his life. and suddenly, not that the gods have given him a second chance. he could feel hope coming back to him, filling his heart, and inspiring him to keep going. pulling gently away from the kiss, he brushed his muzzle under hers. smileing softly and looking into her doe eyes. "welcome home"
