Okay, this is a part of the VERY END of the book, so spoiler for those who havent read.
Jacob comes back and reminds Edward and Bella of the treaty, that its broken if Edward bites Bella -- well, anyone, but as if the Cullens would do that, they barely have the guts to change Bella.
So, in essence, Bella is screwed. Become a vampire? Get hunted by werewolves. Dont become a vampire? Get hunted down by the Volturi.
Correct me if Im wrong, but they would still be breaking the treaty of they left Forks, changed Bella, and came back a year later, correct?
So how do you think this should/will be solved?

My guess is that It will involve the Volturi... You know, a life/death situation in which Bella almost dies and Edward has no other option than to change her..
"Edward.... *pause* ... Do It." *eyes glittering with painful tears*
I have no doubt, he'll do it.
Jacob will be close then, too. And he'll know it is necessary... Maybe he will never like Edward and the others, But it'll be like a "Take care of her, Im not the one" situation.... Who knows? Maybe he will take a liking to them with time....
Um.. SPOILER WARNING! (if this ever comes true xd )

Yeah, I agree with Kitsune xD
I was trying to think about that myself...
I thought about them leaving Forks to change Bella...
I thought that they might not even come back. After all, they'll be in college, and well, they're immortal, so of course they'll have to leave Forks to live somewhere else someday, you know? Like the Cullens have been doing for a century or so. 3nodding
There's also the possibility that (don't hate me here sweatdrop ) Bella won't even get changed in Eclipse at all.
I'm betting Edward will most likely change her by the end of Eclipse, or by the beginning of Breaking Dawn.
I'm sure just a few chapters won't be enough to tell everything there is to tell about Bella's transformation - I'm sure it'll require a whole book just for that. 3nodding I personally think that Breaking Dawn will be the book about Bella's transformation. Or at least I hope so. gonk

Yeah, Im essentially pessimistic, so I doubt it will happen any time soon.
A lot of people forget that we have a genius author with a possible contract for SIX books, not four. It may not even happen by then.
But its Forks. Theres something special about that place. They couldnt leave forever.

And I agree with Unicorn.... There's no way (or at least it wouldnt make sense) she gets changed in book three.... It all depends on what happens though, whenever it happens.... The three agonizing days Bella will spent are going to be so intense to read that I can't wait for it to happen o.O;
Hopefully Stephenie will spend a chapter solemnly for it.. Already looking forward to book 4! xd

The only things that would REALLY annoy me would be if she gets changed
a) at the end of a book (ewww, cliffhanger!)
Or even worse,
b) at the end of the LAST book. gonk

I mean, ok, there's pain, a horrible pain, that she'll explain, of course, but what else is there to say? Bella will be in too much pain to even walk, I'm sure, and too feeble to even think straight. I'd bet that there'll be a part explaining how everything happens, how Edward will be by her side all the time... But I don't think it'll be more than two pages or so confused
I'm a joy killer, I know gonk

EDIT: I'm really excited to read about when the transformation's over, as a matter of fact. When Bella starts to notice her new body, her new senses, and she has to get used to it too. Now, that will be interesting! 3nodding

Actually, now I can see it more clearly o_O; Bella said they were most likely going to attend the Peninsula Community College... that's in Forks, right?
I mean, of course someday they'll leave Forks, seeing they NEVER get old, and people will start noticing, but that part may or may not be stated in the books. The series might end before they move. o.O

I've mentioned this on a few other threads, and I'll say it again. The treaty is already broken. Isn't part of the treaty to keep what the Cullens really are a secret? Jacob broke the treaty when he revealed to Bella what the Cullens really were. He may not have believed it himself, but that is how Bella found out. His people are bound by the treaty to keep that secret from the "pale faces". Also, if my memory serves me correctly, Jacob admits to himself that he has broken the treaty. (Jacob's point of view is on Stephenie's website.)

Jacob didn't know about anything back then, and it was already stated in New Moon that Bella found everything out by herself - a guess.
And they didn't have any problems then.
