Stephen King's IT is currently on TV right now. It just started. The entire movie(and the book) is scary as hell yet the ending sucks. Why the hell is he a spider? Yet I'm terrified. To this day(I first saw it when I was four), I can't watch when Georgie dies. I also realized that young Bill looks a bit like River Phoenix but that's besides the point.
So anyhow, the discussion is: Once you've seen the ending, how is Pennywise still scary?

Yeah...but the ending majorly sucked with him bringing his girlfriend back to life by riding his bike. rolleyes I'd take the Langoliers over IT any day.

Ok, I read all of IT and there's lot of wierd stuff in that book, but the reason he's a spider is because they were all like 12-13 years old and they were scared as hell of a giant spider!! When you read the book, they all acually go into there minds and fight him alone, the spider thing was just an easy way to get to the point with the budget they had at the time. I think if they ever re-did that movie now, "it" would be totally awesome...
In the book the girl had sex with each one of them right after each other, cause she thought that was the only way they could remain together and close........wierd mrgreen

I read the book. I'm not just some person who only saw the movie. But why a spider? Yes, I know when Pennywise first came to Bev and her father didn't see the blood she said 'A huge spider crawled up the drain' but that doesn't explain why he disguised himself as a clown. I mean, I guess it could've been a happy creature that children would want to see but he wasn't, say, Bozo. He was scary before he got the fangs. And speaking of that, since when do spiders have sharp teeth like a vampire? And what was with the deadlights? What does that have to do with a spider? And also, why didn't Eddie's inhaler trick work a second time? Okay...yeah...I'm just bringing up random questions so I'll stop now.

I suppose the ending could've been written when he was drunk as he often was(before the accident). I mean, he doesn't even remember writing Carrie. But since the spider debacle has been dicussed, let's just change this to a discussion strictly for Stephen King's novels/novellas shall we? Yes, let the renting and Taco Bell commence xd

We should start a thread called, "Taco Bell Night." And we could TRY to get all of the dorks that are on the guild frequently to get on all at the same time!! <3 it would take a lot of coordination with the difference in timezones...
But i could figure all of that mess out if ya'll wanted to do it.
