This is Blais, in the only incarnation of my avatar/persona that you're likely to see - at least until the banning of my Blaisixi account gets resolved - and probably even then. Yes, my main account has been banned. Apparently, I came into contact with some "botted gold" and am the latest casualty in the whole botted gold banning fiasco. rolleyes .
Gaia may as well have banned the rest of my accounts ... I can't bear to look at them right now, and couldn't deal with the additional shock should any of them be banned as well. I am mourning my account(s), the virtual stuff I managed to acquire and will not likely see again (my kiki!!, among a select few other things), and the unopened envelops sitting in that account for which I paid with real money. I have, of course, written to Gaia asking them to look into this unfair banning and to release my account. We'll see. Currently, I am quite disappointed, disgusted, and a bit depressed over this whole mess.
I wanted a "blank" account with which to at least pop by here from time to time, but am finding doing even that much is quite depressing right now.
Just wanted to let you know.
I suggest that you all avoid the marketplace and doing trades with anyone you're not absolutely certain you can trust and to "spread your virtual wealth" across accounts...

Blais......that sucks!!!! I hope that they un-ban your account! I don't blame you for feeling the way you do about the situation....I would feel the same way! cry

ummm.... yeah. It sucks.
They really need to do something about this and stop robbing folks of their accounts who happen to "come into contact with botted gold" and not through any intentional actions of their own. rolleyes

i'm afraid to use the marketplace now too, you see threads around saying that Mods have declared the marketplace to be safe, but i don't see how it can be sad

*hugs Blais* I'm so sorry! I think if I were in your shoes I'd probably be so disgusted I'd quit. You'd think with Gaia being a big business they could handle this gold botting fairly. sad Of course, these same things happen on Neo, so I guess nobody is immune.

Well I realy do not understand gaia banning anyone who donates to their business. Hopfully it will not happen to me. Even though this is just and online game of sorts I would be tempted to send them a bill for the letters which I purchase. You see it would come under the act of fraud, and what I have donated to Gaia is well over $600 real cash. Technecially I could take them to court. I know I wouldn't win, but it would smear their name all over the web.  I was wondering what happened to you two.

Ceymore I was wondering what happened to you two. I have not even lurked I have been so upset over this, and the fact they do not answer the emails I have sent just makes it harder. If they know ehen gold is botted I do not understand why they cannot simply remove it. I like Ceymore have spent alot of RL $$$ on letters and gift credits, and although the thought of suing is interesting, have no idea who to turn to in that case, so I sit feeling like I am on the outside looking in crying They have hundreds of my dollars at this point with over 2 years invested

Yes, it feels like, and could really be argued that Gaia has stolen RL $ from me (& Lizzy) by unfairly banning my account, without cause, provocation, or warning... an account which is the one I have used to help support their business with MY Money!! I doubt I've invested nearly as much as the 2 of you have, but I *have* donated nonetheless and this is just .... stealing... fraudulent... misguided... on their part, not on mine. I did nothing wrong and if "bought gold" came into my hands, it was not with my knowledge or consent!! Take the gold in question and give me my account back!!! scream

i've contemplated adding my 2 penneth in an email to the admin about this farce, as it's quite plain that 2 adult, married mothers are not the sort to do something is silly as bot for gold, i'd say that the majority of botters are teenage boys, plus i knew that Lizzy in particular has spent a lot of her own dollars on the site.
then..they make announcements saying they didn't break even in November, and start releasing 3 letters to try and re-coup. maybe if they didn't go around banning donators willy-nilly they wouldn't get into a financial mess in the first place!
i completely agree with you Blais, they should remove the botted gold and return the items it was used to pay for. not ban at the drop of a hat.
i'm still nervous, for this account in particular.
when i was questing i received a number of donations, Pawel gave me 40K, some of that he will have received as donations to his charity, but who knows where some of it originated from? somewhere along the line i'm sure that i have come into contact with botted gold, even if i've since passed it on to someone else.
every day when i log into jelly or Pop i'm expecting to see a message saying the account's been disabled sweatdrop somewhat takes the fun out of being on here crying

OK! Got a hold of a Moderator last night (with some help xd ) and swapped a couple PMs. The last thing I heard from them was "I'll talk it over with the other greens and the admins, and see what can be done about it." xd

Pop, Thank you for the vote of confidence! heart Short of *never* doing trades of any kind (item swap... donations... minishop) or selling items in the marketplace, I honestly don't know how to avoid coming into contact with "illegal gold" when Gaia allow it to propagate beyond the original offender... *siiiigh*

OMG! I had no idea that this was a possibility! This is absolute crap as far as I'm concerned. Just because you were given bad gold is NO reason to be banned, we all know they are able to find out who is botting and who isn't. Gods...I'm sorry, I really am.
