Did anyone ever notice this?

Mamoru and Shin
Mamoru and Kunzite
Endymion and Kunzite

So apparently Shin grew about a foot and a half when he became Kunzite, and Mamoru grows just as much as Endymion. xd

Camera angles! Something tells me that Kubodera is definitely really taller than Shibue.

Hmm... I should look that up.

...

According to Shingetsu-pgsm.net Shibue is 183cm and Kubodera is 177cm.

But yes, camera angles can perform miracles. I've noticed that whenever you see Kunzite and Nephrite together, they try to make Kunzite look at least as tall as, if not taller than, Nephrite, even though Matsumoto at least as tall as Shibue

rolleyes from those picks i gather that smallest to talles goes: human Kunz, Mamoru, Kunzite, then Endy-chan...weird...

Haha. I didn't really notice that until you pointed it out! That's interesting!

A little late on this, perhaps. I think they made the heights like that to give the impression of levels of power/intimidation. If you think about in the order of who's supposed to be better/more powerful/higher up, then clearly Endymion > Kunzite > Mamoru > Shin?

I think that's just supposed to be a visual clue as to the intimidation factor of the situation. Either that, or I have no idea what I'm talking about. I'm not a psychologist, much to the relief of many crazy people I know. But it sounds reasonable, at least to me.

BTW, I would never have noticed expect for it being pointed out.. I don't remember thinking anything of it when I watched that episode. :3

Oh, that's totally what it was. Heights of characters play a pretty large role in anime, it's just tricky to make that work as well with real people, except with camera trickery.

I thought it was quite extreme in this case and thought I would mention it.

I never noticed that xd . IKoto's explaination makes sense though. Either that or it was a huge error that no one noticed.

Oh, I'm certain it was intentional.

(Post 2000? Woohoo!)

I definately agree that it was intentional. And it IS really rather strange, given the live action-ness of the show. I mean, in anime it's normal and common for size changes to denote different emotions/personalilties. I suppose they thought they'd see how well it would carry over. I wonder how many other shows they play this little trick with, and we never notice?

I believe that also tried exaggeratedly expressive anime eyes at least once in the series as well. I know that probably didn't go over to well.
