~The Katana Apartment~
Due to the short notice given to the family for the move, the Katanas were not able to procure a house in time for their arrival, so they chose an upscale apartment to live in until the found a home.
The apartment is on the tenth story and has two bedrooms, a bath, a kitchen, a dining room, and a living room. There is a very Americanized feel to the apartment, even though Okami's father is Japanese.
Le living room is relatively cleared out, with only a few boxes in it and a couch (which Okami often sleeps on) and a coffee table. Several painting are hung in there, including one of a water lily in the snow and two "sister" paintings of the same girl dancing, but in different styles and using different colors for the hair, dress, etc.
Le kitchen is very tidy, considering, and well stocked in "commoner" ramen. The phone is in there. The kitchen connects to the dining room which is decorated in traditional Japanese fashion.
Le bedrooms are danger zones, considering their messiness, though Okami is starting to make an effort to make her room inhabitable.
Any and all who want to drop by are welcome! ((No pics right now, I'm kinda low-tech. Just use your imagination.))

Okami was lying on her stomach on the couch she had seemed to claim as her own. She would have been lying on her bed, but that was covered in all sorts of junk and she didn't really want to have to go through that. The girl was wearing spaghetti strap white shirt and blue jeans as she flipped through the pages of a first-edition copy of "To Kill a Mockingbird". Her head still had the black ski hat atop it and on her feet were some rather bizarrely colored socks. As for the general state of what was referred to as the sitting room, the girl's adaptation Ouran uniform was slung over the arm of an unused dining room chair that had been uncerimoniously dragged into the room for the sole purpose of a clothes rack. A large canvas bearing an acrylic painting of a water lily in the snow leaned against the wall, but was yet to be hung. Boxes, big, unsightly, and brown were stacked this way and that, some open some not. Okami sighed and readjusted her iPod earbuds, from which some song by U2 was playing. The apartment was not at all what she had been hoping for. To her, it seemed cluttered, unfriendly, and most of all lonely. She missed her brother. Just thinking about him brought an all too familiar prickle to her eyes. Okami brushed away what was the start of a tear and drew herself up. She needed to do something. The girl hopped off the couch and started looking around. After a short search she found the watercolors and the watercolor paper. Out of the back pocket of her jeans came a sketch of girl, dancing, alone, but not caring. It was someone Okami had seen on the street. It's worthy of a canvas, she decided. And so she set to work.
((Lalala! A rather pointless post, but one nonetheless! Anybody, please drop by the apartment. I don't care how random the reason is. Really. So....that's it. Post away!))

~A few hours later~
Okami stepped away from the canvas slowly. The painting showed a raven-haired girl wearing a pale pink dress from behind, dancing. Okami liked how it had come out. She was finished with it. But that left Okami with several free hours in her day. Seeing as her mom was out and in possession of the family's only car, she would have to bike. But that wouldn't be too hard. It would help her get used to the area anyway. After a quick call on her cell phone to her mother, Okami departed and headed out.

~Even later~
Okami was still laughing when she burst into her apartment. Her mom looked up from the stove when she heard the door slam closed and came out to greet her daughter. "You're home!" Okami said, brightening to see her mother, whom she hadn't expected to be let off till at least six. Her mother smiled and embraced her daughter. When they parted, she explained that the management hadn't needed her as long as she had thought. Okami didn't really think about it, but strangely enough, her mother was employed by the company that her father owned. Only as her mother spoke did a sliver of confusion enter her thoughts. Why would her mother even need to work? Maybe she just likes to, Okami thought, trying to shrug it off. After all, Mom doesn't seem like the type to just hang around the house all day. "Saw your new painting. Pretty interesting." Shika Katana looked at her daughter with a peculiar smile on her lips, her hands on her hips. "Yeah, I did it today. Before I went out." Okami paused, and then continued. "What'd you think?" She was hesitant, as she knew that her mother was perhaps the greatest of all art critics. The strange smile persisted. "You know I was with you the day you saw this girl, right?" Okami nodded, and then her mother sidestepped some boxes and went into the bedroom she was to share with her husband when he arrived. When she returned, she was bearing a canvas. Slowly, she turned it around to show her daughter. The painting was of a girl from the back. The girl had the same flowing hair and danced in the same way. But this girl was a blonde and her dress was a dark purple. Okami was by turns shocked and amused. "They're...sisters!" she finally exclaimed. "Sister paintings!" "I hoped you would think of it that way," Shika told her, laughing. "I wanted to play with the colors and all, and I had no idea you would do the painting, much less in the same positioning!" "Dude, these would be great if we hung them together! I bet there's some nails around this dump-" "Not now, honey. I made some ramen and it's getting cold."

Suddenly a helicopter came around, blasting at the house windows with paintballs. The paint slammed into the windows painting them like amosiac and as more balls came into conflict with the glass material, the very foundations began to rock. The window cracked, now stained with thick paints of reds and blues. The many boxes inside the house moved, bulging at the sides and suddenly they exploded, revealing men in uniform, masks covering their face. Upon their chest was a rose emblem and as they scurried out of the house the world seemed to spin as laughing gas was released. Just as all of this happened, a giant panda laid his home down in the apartment, trudging in and as it seemed it couldn't get worse, the men disappeared outside, climbing up a ladder and packing into the helicopter that soon took off into the horizon. The panda was sitting in the livingroom, yawning.

((you forgot your homework. go along with it... otherwise, I have no excuse to be here xD))
Rebecca stared at the door to the Katana apartment. At school, she had found an assignment for Okami that was due the next day.... but Okami had already left for home. Rebecca wondered at the time if it was purposely left there. After all, no one liked homework. Still, it seemed polite to at least drop by and offer the sheet of paper to her classmate. It was on her way home, anyway.
Ringing the doorbell, Rebecca straightened her dress before attempting a smile. She was pretty sure that the use of Japanese wouldn't kill her in this situation. All she had to do was give her the paper, and walk off. End of story....

((Righto!))
Okami had to wonder who was at the door. Who did she know who even knew where she lived, much less cared? Of course, it might be for her mom, who was now cleaning up the kitchen at the moment. That would make more sense. The girl weaved her way through the boxes and stopped before the door. Looking down at herself, she realized how messy she looked, wearing a white cami with some green paint on it, old jeans, and bare feet. Okami sighed and brushed off her shirt as best she could. She hoped the person wasn't some ever-so-important business exec and opened the door. Okami was taken aback that it was a classmate. And not even someone she had kind of gotten to meet, like Alcy. "Um, hi. Why are you- er, what's up?" she asked.

((I gotta go for a little while... you can just take the assignment thingy and I'll go home, or something like that~))
Rebecca bit her lip. Well, this was a bad idea. She was being stared at like she had three heads. That was nothing new. In the back of her mind, she finally remembered that she absolutely nothing about the girl in front of her, other than her name and, thanks to the teacher, her adress. Rebecca hoped she wasn't coming off as too forward in showing up...
Offering the girl the slip of paper, she bowed her head and said nervously, "umm... Katana-san... your homework... " It wasn't much of an explaination, but then again, there wasn't much of a reason either. Hopefully Okami would take the paper, and Rebecca could leave, returning to her safe, warm, english-speaking home.

((Darn, we keep missing each other.))
"Oh!" Now that made sense. "Thank you so much." Okami smiled at the girl and took the offered paper. "You're Rebecca, right? I'm Okami, but you probably knew that. Just...thanks, again." She wanted to invite the girl in, but Rebecca seemed ill at ease and in a hurry to get out of there, so she refrained, though Okami felt guilty for it. "Well, bye."
