Demyx had been quick to follow Saix's orders. Maybe he was just eager to please, or maybe he just wanted out of that meeting as fast as possible. Whatever the reason, the youth had quickly taken his leave and led his two companions off to the study. The room would become their 'base' throughout this little missions of theirs, and with how many reports there were to find Demyx was sure they'd be spending quite a bit of time here. Well...that was fine. He wasn't with Luxord, but he WAS with Axel and Larxene. He had liked the limited interactions he had with both of them, so working with them wouldn't be so bad.

The winged one had walked to the study, quickly pushing open the doors and stepping inside. He trusted the other two would follow, even if they delayed a bit in the throne room they still knew where the study was...they'd come when they were ready.

For now, however, he'd start on their assignment. Pulling out the report once more, Demyx spread it out on a table and began to read.

Quote:
The "chaos" has spread to many worlds, not just this one.

My apprentice Xehanort has, in the "Ansem Reports" which he wrote under my name,
hypothesized about the process of the terrible experiments that he carried out
and the "door" that appeared in the underground darkness.

Every living being has a heart, and in the depths of every heart there is
darkness.
The same is true for "worlds". If you consider that a world has one life, it
hides a great heart...
And in its depths, an immense darkness.

Is Xehanort trying to understand the "door" to make contact with the darkness in
the worlds?
No, not just Xehanort.
It seems that the other five disciples, have become enveloped by the darkness as
a result of their fixation on it for their research.
Even, Ienzo, Braig, Dilan, and Elaeus...they have ceased to be human.

And I have lost everything, exiled to a nonexistent world.

Having exiled me, what could Xehanort be aiming for?
Have everyone's smiling faces gone?

As the light of hope has faded, I will now walk along with the darkness.
In the world of nothingness to which I have been exiled.

Darkness within nothingness.
"Darkness in Zero"

Therefore, I will take the name "DiZ".
I will cast aside the exile's name "Ansem"...and have my revenge.

...Ooookay. This was gonna be a lot harder than he thought. Hopefully the other two showed up soon.

Larxene took her time making her way to the library. Exploring the various routes to and from the room had given her a variety of paths to take; it was after all pretty much the only place she spent her time in. It also gave her ample opportunity to avoid her other two 'team members' en route to think about what had just happened.

So they decided to have a coup, did they? Did it even count as a coup, if the old leaders were already gone? It was certainly the easiest way to do it. Take over when there was no one left who cared enough to lead. Not particularly heroic or impressive. If Larxene had been the type of person to respect the leadership required to actually *bother* to try to organize the group again, she might have been impressed by that. But she wasn't. Someone'd chopped off the old leader's head and Saix's had grown back in its place with no evidence he'd be a better leader than 'The Superior' had been, apart from the fact he'd changed his clothes and looked more constipated than before. Yawn.

Demyx, on the other had... What had possessed him to deem the little one his second in command? It wasn't the obvious choice. Hell, it wasn't even a plausible choice when you thought about it. Demyx had looked about to wet himself when he was handing that report over. Without really thinking about it, her knives slid down to their usual positions between her fingers and she ran them along the wall as she walked, leaving a scratched trail behind her. Maybe there was something different about him than when she'd known him before. He looked different, certainly. Perhaps the timidity was a front. Maybe he'd changed and they'd conspired to make him appear as pitiful as he used to in front of the others so they wouldn't catch on. Interesting.

She finally pushed open the door to the library and wandered inside, sniffing around for the others. Larxene followed her nose to the table Demyx was at, fixing a smile on her face before approaching and flopping down in a nearby chair.

"D'you find the rest of them yet, Wonder Boy?"

Axel left the conferance hall rather reluctantly, unwilling to leave his young friend in the hands of Saix. The choice, however, wasn't his to make. With a last, somewhat longing look at the boy, he hurried off to the study. Assigned to reviewing reports written long ago by someone they may not even remember. The fire-wielder wondered idlely if perhaps Saix had given him a less than important task to keep him from making trouble in the diviner's "new order".

He arrived mere moments later, tracking his watery friend to a table in the back. The red-head smiled half-heartedly as he sat, thoughts obviously far from this room. Green eyes fixed on Demyx after a moment or two of silence. He still wasn't sure how to approach the youth. Making a mental note to keep it in mind, he glanced down at the scroll of parchment, reading.

"Hi Larxene!"

Tail swishing happily, Demyx greeted the female as she flopped into a chair. The young sitarist had been as serious as possible in the meeting, but outside of that room he was back to normal. It'd be near impossible to tell he was second in command from the way he acted.

"Er....no? I thought it'd be better to read this one over first and see if it had the clues we needed....no reason to keep searching if we already have the answer right?"

It was a longshot of course, but the logic did make sense in his mind.

"Unless you have a better idea?..."

The statement wasn't sarcasm, it was an honest offer from him. Saix might try to rule through fear and intimidation, but Demyx was willing to hear everyone's opinions. He already knew how it felt to be ignored.

The entrance of the fire-wielder interrupted all thoughts, and with a happy little squeak Demyx ran over to greet him.

"Hi Axel!! I've missed you!"

Tail still swishing, Demyx crawled into the chair with Axel and latched onto him in a hug.

Larxene smirked a bit at the sitarist's enthusiasm. Same old Demyx. "No, I suppose you're ri-" She trailed off as he hopped up to glomp Axel, smirking again and leaning forward across the table to nab the paper he'd been looking at.

Her greeting to the newcomer came in the form of a cheeky "If you boys need a moment alone, you let me know, hmm?" muttered from behind the paper.

Axel couldn't help but laugh at the youth's actions, suprised though he was. "I missed you too," the red-head smiled, ruffling the youth's hair a bit. His green-eyed gaze turned to Larxene, a smirk forming on his muzzle. "If we need to be alone...you'll know," the fire-wielder purred playfully.

Too thrilled at being reunited with his friends, Demyx had no idea just what it was Axel and Larxene were speaking of. Giving another squeak, the youth happily hugged the red-head as he spoke with Larxene.

"I haven't seen either of you in so long! So much has happened...like..like..well this?"

Demyx released his friend, flailing at the wings and halo a moment to point them out.

"And Saix changing of course...and just...wow, what have you two been up to?"
PostPosted: Wed Jan 10, 2007 7:50 pm

Larxene gave a snort at Axel's response. The little smile growing on her face suggested she was pleased to be reunited with Axel and his sharp wit. The female emerged from behind her paper again to look at the pair, watching as Demyx gleefully pointed out his new appendages.

She smiled. "Yes, they're very becoming. Have you trained your water minions to keep out of your wings though? Soggy wings..." She clucked her tongue and shook her head slightly. "That'd be unsightly."

Relaxing back into her chair a bit, she turned her impish gaze back on Axel, apparently content to pretend he was the only one the question was addressed to. "Yes do tell Axel. What has been occupying your attention these days?"

"You'll have to tell me all about it later," Axel grinned at the youth, genuinely intrigued to discover how the boy had acquired his new look. His gaze returned to Larxene, the playful grin spreading anew on his maw. "Mmm. Watching you shower Larxene, that's been occupying my attention." The red-head snickered softly under his breath. He'd always enjoyed toying with the sole female member.

"I didn't train em, but my wings can get wet! They're kinda like duck feathers, water just slides off instead of soaking in."

It was fitting for his wings to be like that, but also a huge relief. Demyx would have thrown a fit if he couldn't swim because of the change. Taking away his water would be one of very few things that could really set him off.

The youth ignored the comments going back and forth between the other two. Some of it went over his head, and some of it...he just plain ignored.

Larxene sneered at Axel's quip, though it was probably obvious from the half smile that never left her face that she'd missed the teasing as well for whatever demented reason. "Aww, but hasn't that been making your boyfriends jealous?"

She chuckled a bit at Demyx's answer. "I guess someone was thinking when they ... did whatever they did to make you like that, then," she said, nodding and leaning back in her chair again as she played with one of her 'antennae'. "No webbed toes though, I assume?"

Axel knew Larxene well enough to know she was enjoying this. Afterall, if he'd really upset her, he would have four kunai sticking out of him and a lightning bolt or two to the a**. "I don't give them much time to complain afterwards." The red-head leaned back in his chair, perching it precariously close to falling backwards as he propped his booted feet on the table. Arms folded behind his head in a relaxed gesture as he settled back, a cocky smirk playing on his maw.

As Axel leaned back further, Demyx clung tighter to his friend to avoid tumbling to the floor. The boy was fairly certain Axel wouldn't care, afterall he didn't seem to mind his clingy ways before. Black ears perked at Larxene's comment, the youth tilting his head a bit so he could address her.

"Nu uh, no webbed toes."

Like he really needed those to swim better. The young audio already might as well be half fish.

"Wings, second tail, er...halo...thingy, and color changes....but no webbed toes."
PostPosted: Fri Jan 12, 2007 8:26 pm

Larxene smirked, still twirling one antenna in her fingers. "I always heard you didn't give them much time to get much of anything done, sweetie. Speedy speedy."

She chuckled a little as Demyx answered her question seriously. "What a shame. Webbed toesies would be so cute. I'm sure they'd be popular too." Directing her attention upward slightly, she tilted her head to one side. "So does that halo do anything or is it just there to be shiny?"

Axel grunted at the blow to his ego, the smile, however, never leaving his face. "I didn't realize you were interested enough to ask about it, Lar," the red-head smirked. "Sounds like you're just waiting for a chance to ride." The male purred softly, green eyes meeting the female's as a hand reached up to pet the boy in his lap.
