In a city, there was indeed a large library. Imagine if you will, a very classy library. Very tall bookcases, the likes of which a being of normal humanoid height would need one of those side to side attached ladders, y'know what I'm saying? A counter sits in the middle near a small area with desks while in every area aside from the entrance there are these large bookcases filled with anything you need to look up. Also imagine for a moment if you will, a world without Google, without Wikipedia! These would be much more popular. Damn, they so would.
This place stays open late though there is no librarian, but a robobrarian, because this Library sits in a dark sector of Aekea where many of the businesses are run by robots. In this case, the mecha in charge is a malfunctioning heap that is in dire need of maintenance.

A man stands in front of another, the mellow lighting of the library lamps reflecting off of his radiant pink hair. A cigarette hung from his lips, it's tip flaring brightly as he took a drag of it, reaching upward afterward to gently grab it's sides with his left index and middle finger and bring it down, his left hand falling to his side. Smoke drifted upward and began to whirl around a slow spinning fan directly over his head. The man stood slightly shifted to his left side, the shadows hiding his eyes, his right hand in the right pocket of his relaxed dusty blue jeans which fell over black boots. The collar of his reddish jacket was raised up high at the sides of his tan face, a scar just under his right eye becoming evident as he lifted his head up slightly.
"The hell brings you here?" asked the man.

From the shadows a smokey voice drifted out, apparently from nowhere. "I just felt a calling. Or maybe I'm considering becoming a scholar...you should take a look at the section about cheetahs."
Delv walked from an isle of books a couple rows behind Crim'. He held a book in his hand, and his head was bowed, reading it. Lifting his black leather gloved hand he leafed through a couple of pages, then shut the book with a whap. The man looked at Crim'. "I could ask the same question of you, old friend."
Delv donned his long white coat and tattered black scarf. The brim of his tall black hat cast long shadows down his face, making his deep set eyes almost invisable in darkness. He grinned toothily as the familiar smell of cigarrettes drifted under his nose. "Smoking in a library, eh?"

"Better than in the boys room." said Crim`, his eyes shifting to where the voice came from and he turned to face the source. "What's so great about cheetahs? Trying to improve your running speed?" he took another puff of his cigarette.
"...and I'm here because I heard a hot librarian worked here, too bad all I found was a robot..." he said, nodding his head in the direction of a robot slumped over the desk, it's dangling head nearly detached with only a few wires keeping it's head from falling onto the cold grey floor.
"Plus I needed to look up something, but... That's none of your business." he said as his eyes narrowed.

"Running speed...no. You know I'm already faster than a Cheetah." A scoff came from the man now standing not far from Crim'. "Who told you that? You should know this town is run by robots." He said this last sentense with a mild disdain. His dark red eyes shifted momentarally to the dismantled library robot. "Tisktisk..." The gaze shifted back to Crim' "You always were quick with the blade....you, having to look something up? Must be important to bring you into a library." His eyes narrowed as he contimplated.

He laughed. "Ah right, the blur... but cheetahs don't get dizzy. And that bot over there got kinda strange so I had to kick it in the head. I don't carry any knives anymore... Honest!" he said, raising his hands in front of him in mock sincerity. Ofcourse, he seems to have forgotten he had a knife strapped to the back of his belt. He probably didn't see it, right? "...and like I said... That's for me to know."

Kat wandered through a door blindly, a blindfold over her eyes. One cat ear twitched as a foot tentatively reached out and nudged against a garbage can. Something here wasn't right... It was too silent for the restuarant she'd been trying to reach. Except for two men talking in the back, there was no sound at all. And she was fairly certain the restuarant didn't have a garbage can in that location.
Pulling the blindfold from her eyes, she looked around at where she was. "A library." She muttered under her breath. "Yup, definitely lost. Good job, Kat." Normally she was fairly good at finding her way around blindfolded. But Aekea continued to throw off her sense, the constant din of machines and the scent of smog clouding over everything.
Well, maybe she could find a map in this place and figure out how far she was from her target area. She tied the blindfold around her wrist as she walked between the rows towards "M". She wasn't going to try the blindfold trick again until she knew the city a little better than she currently did.

He hadn't seen any weapons, but then again, he knew Crim' - Delv has never known Crim' to walk around town unarmed. He smirked. "I believe you..." Delv took his tall hat off and set it on a hook on the adjacent wall. His dark brown hair was long in front, and hung infront and on the sides of his face. Dark crimson eyes, now unobscured by the hat's shadow looked over thin dark shades at Crim'. "I'm as unarmed as you are." Delv put his hands up, showing nothing hiding in his palms or up his sleeves.

"Riiight. I doubt that, but that's fine. " said Crim, taking another drag of his cig. "Why are you in Aekea anyway? You're not working for Serano are you? They're pretty bad clients... Just so ya know."
He noticed the sound of the door but pretended as if he hadn't heard it.

Delv just looked at Crim for a moment before he spoke. "Who's Serano?" He paused for a moment, shifting his weight, and leaning back against a wall. His posture is casual, and off guard. "I haven't worked for anyone in awhile...my business in Aekea is of the personal variety."
His focus was momentaraly redirected by the sound of a door. Not seeing who it was, his attention shifted back to Crim'.
"To use your own words, it's for me to know."

"Serano is a large weapons and prostetics manufacturer here in Aekea. If one can't pay for their extremely advanced, high end products they often seal said poor soul into contracts... Especially if that person is of the skilled variety." he got a bit of a disgusted look on his face and continued. "I thought maybe you had acquired something... Destructive from them and had been working for them or... Something. Ah well."

Delv looked at Crim again, a glint in his eye. "So...that's what this is - what that arm is. I'd wondered how you acquired such a thing. What do they have you doing? Hits, theft, and the usual?" He grinned slightly. "Anything destructive I acquire doesn't tie me to some oranization or individual. I'm very careful of that."

"Same... But losing part of yourself will make a guy do whatever it takes to become whole again, I'm sure you can understand that." he said, looking down at his right hand upon removing it from his pocket. "And my service to them has long been over, but... It left a bad taste in my mouth, to say the least, and a bounty on my head. That's never good." he said, his voice low and a bit angry as he reflected on years past.

Delv shook his head slowly. "A bounty...never a good thing to have hanging over ones shoulders. So what are you doing in the home city of the orgization that put the bounty on you? Seems a little...crazy."
Delv yawned. This library light was making him tired. "I used to have a bounty on my own head...but not anymore. Bountys go away after awhile, if the population of bountyhunters and law enforcement officials start to take dramatic drops."

"Nah, it wasn't them... I botched up a job they sent me on, or rather, they gave me the wrong intel and before I know it I'm knee deep in security that neither one of us would scoff at. Ofcourse, when I did manage to escape my face was all over the place since I had stolen something pretty big... But you never know, Serano might've set me up, but I doubt it. I carry one of their prototypes, if the test subject dies that would mean no data for them." he said with a shrug. "I've had to fight off a few here and there, but your method seems useful..."
