Everyone, I would like to direct your attention to The Peace Festival subforum which has been set up in Gaia Unlimited.
We are currently working to set up this event, which will run from January 12th to the 18th. This means that the opening ceremonies will be this Friday - and that also means we do not have much time.
Planning discussions, volunteer sign-ups, and donation collecting is going on, and we need all the support we can get to make this festival the best possible.
Please feel free to post in the festival subforum, and help out and spread the word!

I have just replied to many of the volunteers. Everyone stating that they want to be in security only has been added to the group. Security is good. (KLN did not sign up, but I believe he called dibs on being head of security in the original discussion thread.) Others have things to be discussed.
Waiters - I need to know who wants or does not want to be a cocktail waiter during the ball itself. If everyone wants to do such, that is fine - we will make it buffet night on the 15th at the Dining Tent.
Bartenders - We will need to make sure we have the bar covered all evenings, since there are not many signing up for this. Also, please feel free to discuss some (non-alcoholic) mixed drinks in the menu discussion thread.
Chefs - WHERE ARE YOU? GU has so many restaurants, but we've only had one sign up so far! We want you guys! We need someone who can prepare yummy food at the dining tent and discuss the many possibilities for its menu!
We also need someone who wants to be the DJ for the ball itself. Worst comes to worst, I'll end up doing it - and I greatly enjoy 80's music. *dun dun dun* We also need more suggestions for events and people willing to run them. (Would anyone be willing to set up a daycare center? A dice game?) Donations are also still good!
People who signed up for multiple things - We will find out where we need more help when above things are discussed and more roles are settled.
Thank you. I think we're crunching for time here, but luckily, the first day is mostly going to be the opening ceremonies and the start of the festival-long events, so we have more time for some of the other parts.

More staff cards have been added.
Is there anyone interested in a music-related volunteer position? We need someone who can manage the Karaoke Stage, as well as a DJ for the Sunflower Ball.

Depends when your afternoons are compared to mine D= I have school and work right after but knowing me I'll stay up late because it'll be a friday ^^;

Any time's fine for me, as long as it's not between 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. (GMT: -5).

Well, currently, it's scheduled for 4 PM Pacific Time, as per WindRiderNaya, since she was the only one who spoke up with a specific time...
That's 7 PM for EST-ers. (Like myself.)
