Helaku snorted softly as he trotted along the river, hooves cracking through the thin sheet of ice that formed at the edges. Slips happened occasionally, but he simply caught himself as he could and kept going. It'd been far too long since he'd poked his nose out of his forest, and he was going to get out and enjoy himself. Maybe he'd visit his mate while he was at it.

It had been several days since Zaphiro had parted ways with Kildegard, and even longer since the sapphire blue stallion had left the teepee that he called home on this, his latest prowl. Without any real destination in mind, he had wandered up hills and down hills, through trees, around lakes, and now, across a river. Each step took him farther into the world, and somehow that knowledge had always brought him peace. He couldn't explain why, exactly...but he just loved to roam. You never knew what you were to find, he supposed.
Like right now, for example. He'd crossed the river a short bit downstream, using his wings to avoid cracking the thin sheet of ice that likely couldn't bear his weight; now all of a sudden he was seeing another stallion, out walking along the river as well. A pleasant surprise!
Flicking a wing up in greeting, Zaphiro gave the grey stallion a warm smile. "Good day to you!"

Helaku's ears pricked forward. It'd been a long time since he'd seen another Soquili that he didn't know. There seemed to be many of those now, though. He supposed that was what happened when one became reclusive. "And to you too, sir," he called back, dipping his head in greeting. "Also out for a walk, I presume?"
