It had been a while since Miamba ventured from her home. It had been a few days since the lioness had met Ashado, and she was curious to where he was, and what he was up to. She was dying to know.

It was the morning in the Pridelands, and was still fairly cool out. The sun was barely in the sky, and was still making its way, rising.

She padded lightly out of her empty den, and she began wandering about. Today was another day that she would reunite with her new friend. Bounding about like a little cub, she walked a fast pace along the path nearby. Ah, it felt so good to let loose every now and then!

Ash, luckily for Miamba, really wasn't much further off than she. He, once again, amidst his facination and infatuation with this gorgeous land, had decided to meander in. A trespasser none the less, but he was only sight seeing..? The pretty green grass.. that big old rock in the distance..

Although he'd never get too close to that. It looked like it could fall over any second and possibly crush him in the meanwhile.. not safe. Instead, the albino male was frolicking along, trying to enjoy the moment while his eyes searched and scanned repeatedly for strangers. Just in case. One could never be too careful.

But with a stomach growling and aching for a little snack, his destination was altered (not that he had one to begin with), and immediately he headed in the direction of a small bit of water, just visible a little ways off. Mmmn. Fish. The only thing that couldn't hurt him! Besides little. Bugs or something.

So there he was. Prancing along without a care, assuming no one was wandering the area, towards the bit of water. For a moment happy, though unfortunately this was far too nice to last. In a split second, that stupid movement caught his eye, along with the bright yellow and blue female that triggored it. With a flick of an ear he was off like a bullet. Perhaps she didn't see him? She was evil. She hated him. She wanted to /eat/ him. Last time he'd been lucky.. she'd just had dinner.. but now? Ooooh boy.

Miamba paused as she heard a rustling in the grasses ahead. A familiar scent made its way back to her, and she instantly wandered over to investigate. Flicking her tail about lightly, she peacefully came up to the water for a little drink.

As soon as she finished, she leaned back up and peered around the perimeter. He was here. She tried not to have a funny face this time, as for the previous meeting, she scared the white male into his wits. A smile kept itself firmly on her maw as she began padding around the watering hole, her eyes twitching at every little movement to come.

She stopped. There he was! His white fur was visible in the grass, and then she began silently padding up to him. She was directly behind him, before she began speaking. "Why hello there, Ashado! Its a peaceful, beautiful day to be out, don't you agree?" She spoke softly this time. She didn't want to freak him out.

Ash was happy at the water edge. Yes. There was absolutely no sign of that girl at all! Haha.. he wins! The thought didn't last long.

Soon as that voice behind him sounded, a rather loud yelp was emitted along with a jump of panic. Pity that the water happened to right in front of him.

Within seconds he'd fallen forward, a giant wave of water spraying in all directions as he hit the surface. Any normal lion would've recovered, gotten up, and maybe splashed some water back at the supriser?

Nah. Not Ash. Instead, the panic continued. Trying to propel himself forward after a near faceplant, Ash scrambled deeper into the watering hole. Perhaps it would keep Mia from following, but it was doubtful.

"Go away!" He screamed, trying to move just as quick as he possibly could.

Miamba just stood at the water's edge, watching the albino male freak out. A frown came to her face as he started to 'escape'. Her ears lowered, as did her tail. "I ... uh. ... i'm sorry. I didn't mean ... to scare you."

She padded around the water, heading for the other side, where Ashado would get out. "Please stop running away." What a nut he was. Who could have the guts to run away from a poor old lioness who just wanted to have a nice conversation with an aqquaintence? A sigh echoed in her maw.

"You know, I don't know why you keep running from me. I ... don't want to hurt you. I just ... need a friend." Her eyes wandered about at the ground. "My family is gone. My children have all grown up, and my mate deserted me. The least you can do is ... try to be nice back." She frowned, watching the male make his way in the water.

Ash really did have a tough time hearing anything over his panicky splashing and sploshing about in the water. He could swim.. but.. it wasn't a very pretty form of swimming. In fact it looked more like a struggle, to be quite honest.

However he still listened. He was safe in the water, right? Ears cocked forward meanwhile, trying to listen over his racket. "Yea? Well I don't have any family OR friends! FOREVER! I turned out fine!" He called, nearly sinking under after speaking.

Either which way, he eventually /did/ make it to the other side. Sure enough, Mia was standing there. Immediately Ash recoiled, covering the top of his head and eyes with his paws. "Goawayplease."

Miamba curiously stared at the freightened male, laying on the ground. She leaned down beside him, and frowned. "I'm sorry, I ... didn't mean that. Although, you do seem to have some ... ... 'issues' of your own. You just need to calm down every now and then." She sat down, and sighed. "Why should I go away. I ... just wanted to know you better. I ... needed a friend."

She stared towards Priderock, a glow in her eyes.

Ash slammed his eyes shut, instinctively taking a paw and trying to bat lightly at her nose as the girl came closer: his way of trying to push her off, although it was more gentle than everyone elses way. "..Idon'thaveissues," He whispered, perhaps too lightly to hear, but still. "I can't calm down. Everything's after me. Cute little bunnies, little doggies, other lioney things. I heard if you let your guard down you get eaten. I don't wanna get eaten!"

Ash sounded much like a child, rambling off his rumors with a shakey voice filled with fear.

But she needed a friend..? He lived all his life without a friend.. he turned out fine? Still.. if.. that's all she wanted.. was that okay?

NO! Ash bopped himself on the head, hoping to stop these foolish thoughts. Guard down! Eaten! NO FRIENDS.

..but.. just. a friend.. He bopped himself again.

Miamba chuckled slightly as Ashado spoke more and more. "Oh please. ... ... You would be the one eating the rabbits, doggies ... ... and other lioney things. They are more afraid of you. You seriously need to take a break and get some mental help. NOTHING IS GOING TO EAT YOU." She bopped him lightly on the head.

She rolled her eyes and sat further away. She just couldn't understand this male's logic. Theres no way a bunny could eat her! She'd rip it to shreads before it got a taste! Then she thought more and more on the subject. "Well, Ash -- I could ... protect you, if you would like. You could stay in my den. ... its quiet there, and nothing ever comes to bother me."

"But bunnies and doggies chase me.. and I was told that they eat things like us.." Ash protested, using those rumors as if they were the rules and laws of life. Even still, those rumors probably originated from some silly lion who wanted to scare children half to death. Unfortunately Ash had never figured that one out. Recoiling as she bopped him on the head, the albino retreated into a curled up ball.

However he went silent at the offer. She would.. protect.. /him/? Ears quirked forward as a paw lifted, revealing a single, bright, redish pink eye. "Y--you would..?" He questioned, for once staring at the girl, which was something highly unusual from him. "..How do I know that you won't.. trick me." He stated flatly, though suspiciously.

If she were telling the truth then.. maybe.. he could take her up on that.. he debated silently to himself.

Miamba quirked a brow at the sudden response. "Who told you that? ... ... they might chase you because they want to play -- not ... to eat you." She nodded at the question arose.

"Of course I would protect you. Looks like you could use some help around here in the Pridelands. This is the safest place in all of Africa, you know! Be glad your within its borders, otherwise you'd be mince meat out there in the Rouge lands. I know what its like. ... ... i've been there before, as a cub. I never knew my parents, or my siblings. I was on my own. Luckily, the King found the heart to accept me in." She sighed, her view turning back to the large rock. She loved that huge thing. It was an icon of safety within the Pridelands.

"I would never trick you. Anyways, i'm too old to 'trick' others. I simply wanted to make the offer, that is all." She held out a paw. "So, what do you say?" She smiled softly.

"I don't remember. But they chase me. It must be true. But if you're going to protect me, then you can beat them before they get the chance!" He nodded, perhaps one of the few happy responses he's shown for months.

"It's pretty here." He added offhandedly, his eyes quickly turning towards the 'Pride Rock'. "Where you live? ..It's.. not under that.. is it?" He asked, his voice squeaking a bit while he spoke. He still thought it looked like it'd fall over. He didn't want to be under it when it did. It was big.. it could smash him.

But either which way. She said she'd protect him, right? So that would mean that she'd shove him out of the way or warn him before it fell? ..it was her obligation, right? With that, he made a face that somewhat resembled a smile before taking his own paw and poked at the girls. What was he supposed to do with that? Very slowly he rose to all fours, instinctively shaking out his wet, white fur before looking around warily. "Where's.. your.. uhm. Den?" He questioned, wanting the idea of safety sooner, rather than later.

"This way, Ash." Miamba led him from the watering hole towards the dirt path. Her den was only a few minutes away, at that. "Oh no, I don't live on Priderock. The royals do. The King and Queen -- and their young stay there." She smiled more, as she padded off the path and into the tall grass.

After a little bit of walking, she stood still infront of her little cave. "Its small, but roomy, either way." She stood silent at the entrance, moving aside for the male to go in first. "Go ahead and have a look around."
PostPosted: Sun Jan 21, 2007 7:44 am

Ash followed obediently a few steps behind while Mia led the way. "Oh. Good.. it looks.. dangerous.." He stated blankly, eyeing up the large landmark.

As they reached the lionesses den, Ash eyed at the entrance. She wanted him to go in first..? That's always how those tricks started.. You were lured.. and then.. once your offguard.. WHAM.

But she'd said she'd protect him..? She didn't.. seem the type to pull anything offguard.. He watched her with suspicion. It was difficult to fully trust anyone that you'd just met, afterall. Sort of.

After several minutes of staring and hesitation, the adult slowly (very slowly, in fact) began to inch towards the dark cave. Instead, his attention turned to the little cavern. It looked cute and cozy.. hopefully it'd stay that way.

It was huge, but it was doable. He could always sleep at the back and have Mia out in front, just to make sure that if something came in, she could kill it off before it even reached him.. maybe. With a small little smile and a bit of fidgiting, Ash found himself a spot near the back of the cave, immediately laying himself down in a small, curled up ball. "I like it," He added simply, staring otherwise quietly at Miamba.

Miamba stood idle at the opening, before slowly padding in. She stayed close to the entrance, laying down where the sun hit the inside on the floor. She basked in the warmth. It felt soo good on her yellow-toned fur.

She watched Ash go back in, heading for the furthest part inside. "Don't worry, nothing will come to get you -- i'll make sure of it."
