If in Kagome's time their aren't any demons, where did they go between Inuyasha's time and the present?

I don't think they're entirely absent, just rarer and more hidden. As man grew and encroached, developing more technology, true belief and worship waned, and the demons and gods were driven into the hidden parts of the world. Many demons are tied to an element, area, or living thing. If you exterminate centipedes, a centipede demon may go poof. Cut down enough trees and any tree-spirits from the area will wane. Damn the river, and there's no place for a river goddess. Etc.

Zero-Yasha Simple Inuyasha killed them all. My thoughts exactly, you just have to elaborate more. He kills at least one demon per episode, not to mention the fact that Miroku can suck them up, Sango can slay them, Kirara loves to pounce on them, and many many more. But maybe Naraku could have contributed by useing them as body materials...hmmm.

I think that they're very few left and they live deep within dense forests so that no one can ever find them

Fuzzy Necromancer I don't think they're entirely absent, just rarer and more hidden. As man grew and encroached, developing more technology, true belief and worship waned, and the demons and gods were driven into the hidden parts of the world. Damn the river, and there's no place for a river goddess. Etc. Goo point there... Plus, over time deomns might have also ben killed by other means (eg- Demon slayers, samurai, nature, Inu gang) and some might have died out through age. Most demons can live for approx. 500-800 yrs., but if their species and or mates are wiped out, then poof, no more demon. -Tansho S.E.
