About a week ago, some friends and myself were at a mall, and some European lady (or a lady faking an accent xp ) was selling straightening irons for $100. My friends were shocked that their hair is straigntened (2 Caucasian, 1 African American, 1 Guam, and 1 Latina) and fell in love with it. The African- American already straightened hair that morning, and it looked fine, butwhen she tested out a piece of her hair, she was like "OMG, ITS STRAIGHT!!!" One girl even bought it, paying $107 total for it. I thought it was a rip off and suggested for her to go to Sally's to get one for around $40, but she didn't believe me. I even told her that I have used a good one for around $40, but they just stared at my hair and said "Well, it doesn't look all that straight". (But I hardly ever get my hair straightened because of the damage it can do). One even said, "well, it doesn't work for us, your hair type is different than ours."
I was floored by this statement, since my HAIR IS THICKER THAN THEIRS, and my hair needs more heat. They then thought I was jealous, and a pair of sisters even went out and bought the same iron several days later.
Tell me, is a $100 straightening iron worth it, especially for caucasian girls who don't even need that much heat?

Meh! A hundred dollars? I don't freakin think so. That's like.. 2 new pairs of shoes from Kids Footlocker! Lmao. Really though. No. As long as you have a halfway decent straightener with ceramic plates, it should work. Mind you, my friend had a hundred and twenty dollar one which worked very well, but if it gets the job done.. then it gets the job done!

I paid about 45 for mine. I've seen crap goods that look like they're worth 10 being sold for 100. xp That's ridiculous! I'd never buy something like that from a vendor in the mall. I do my research at haircaire websites and talk to my beautician before I go out shellin' my green. Jealous? Pfft...crazy femmes. rofl

NO.
I'd rather use a hot comb than a straightening iron.

The Risque One I have three curling irons, in three different sizes and it was 100 dollars for the set and I LOVE THEM... 1 set for $100? Now that is a good deal. The straight iron they bought does work well, but common now, their hair doesn't need much heat to straighten, but hey, its not my money. mrgreen

100 dollars??!! it's hard enough for me to spend $10 on anything. i think that's kinda ridiculous, but like you said, it's not your money. you know what works for you and your own hair. i personally think they're kinda foolish spending that much just to get already straight hair straightened more....
