I carried my library copy of Twilight around school today.
I loved being able to read it whenever I wanted - or had the chance to. razz
But I got so many weird looks. Several people asked about the apple, and lots of people asked what it was about. I could have gone into extensive detail, but I assumed no one would care. So I simplay said, "Vampire book."
From that I got a mixture of eek stare confused neutral etc.
What do people normally say when they see the book.
PS, the best one, I had New Moon in algebra. The boy next to me asked what it was about, and I said "Its about werewolves and vampires." He got tight lipped, his eyes widdened and he nodded. "Kinky."

I don't really go any places, and my books are usually in my bag(s) when I do.
It'd be amusing though.
Of course, I had a teacher ask what I was reading one time and I answered "Narcisuss in Chains"
She never asked me about books again.

I was once asked what was my favourite Christmas present...and my answer:
"A book, New Moon."
The response " eek , LOL (literally), you're weird."
Interesting aye?

I haven't really got any weird comments on carrying around Twilight, but thats cause I'm always carring around some book, and people got tired of asking.
I did get a really weird response to me forgetting Eragon in math. I came back to get it like 2 hours later, and my math teacher was like, "You came to get your book! I was hoping you would. It looks really expensive." (it was huge and hardcover and shiny) And I was like " I don't care. *points to friend that came with* I borrowed it from her little brother." and she said "you're so mean!! How old is he?" And I told her "9." *Gives me puzzled look* "He can read that??" And my friend was like "SHH!! He pretends to." rofl lolz

I always feel stange after I say "Oh, it's about vampires"
Cause, it's not really. It's so much more, and I want to explain that, but let's face it, no one truly cares.
So, when I tell them, I get a nod or an "oh, okay"
Makes me feel like I've let my book down. V.V

The same thing happened to me today!!! eek
I was carrying Twilight around the school all day today, working on re-reading it, and a bunch of people asked me what it was about.
I always replied "a 17-year-old girl who falls in love with a vampire", and many reactions left me extremely frustrated.
One person even got as far as to say that he'd seen something like that before, and that my book was boring and stupid, for "not treating about real matters" and "being too out of reality". I almost slapped him in the face. stressed
But yeah. People just don't understand until they read it. Twilight is just so much more than what they think.
It's not just some other ordinary vampire book. stressed

I know, I feel so off about saying "Its about vampires". Because for me, that isnt true. Every other vampire book that Ive read or read pieces of because Ive been scared of them all my life were either too tame and bored me or far too gory.
Twilight and New Moon are more romance, the vampire thing is just a great twist, you know?
Still, has anyone had New Moon called kinky? xd I really thought that would get a response. xp

I had to explain to one of my friends that the vampires in Twilight are different from our normal idea of vampries (and by "our" I mean "most people's" because we obviously have other ideas now...) before I could get her to read it, and she's obsessed now! When I carry it around I find that I discover a lot of other Twilight fans around that I didn't know about before. I used to carry it around quite often, but now it's been signed, and it's falling apart anyhow, so I keep it safe at home.

I got my dad to read it, just cause he was so curious as to what I was obsessing about. He's just finished New Moon. I keep track of how many people I can get to read it, so far I'm up to eight. ^^

That's awesome!!
Whenever I buy my own copies of the books, I'll get more and more people to read it.
So far I got my two best friends interested in Twilight.

Ah, my bringing-Twilight-to-school experiences are great. My friends see the cover and go, "Hey, is that I good book?" When I take too long to reply, they either snatch it out of my hands and read the back, or read over my shoulder. Then they would HOUND me about borrowing it over and over. I uh.. 'forgot' to bring it to school a few times just to be mean. 3nodding

When any asks me about Twilight I tell a quick review and if they want to read it they do but if not they just tell me.
