I've been away over the holidays and I did a few drawings in my sketchbook; thought I'd share. (The paper is sorta textured and really nice to draw on but unfortunately it makes scans look a bit messy and you can see some shadows of the stuff on the other side of the paper. I could finish them up and make them look all neat in adobe but I haven't- so apologies if it gets your goat...)

First of all- Vince Noir: International Rock Star!

I love this, even if it isn't stellar cartooning, because I think I got his hair bang on and I love his outfit and I love the Mighty Boosh.

Some sort of reverse muse idea. Of course, truly, I was just practicing pretty girls and poses that don't look like a**.


A sheet of Sabriel stuff. I seem to get onto this now and again, it's one of my favourite fantasy stories I think.


Not my best character portrait and the shading is naff (aaah her collarbones are coming to get me!!), but I'm quietly happy with the pose and I've wanted to get down my idea of her costume for a while now.

A close up of the animals. I couldn't believe it when I managed to draw a dog and a cat that looked like a dog and a cat.

..and to prove just how amazed I was I will show you my previous attempt at drawing mogget...but only if you promise not to laugh.

hmm, yeah.

be sure to watch the length of the arms, in a lot of these sketches they fall at the waist which is too short.
