Xiu Xue smiled as the cold air surrounded her. Oh it was nice to be out in the winter air. Though her cheeks were rosy she was certainly much happier out in the cold. Her gray eyes surveyed the park, though it looked much like a blank white canvas spread out around a playground. She wagged her dog tail happily as she set down Kasch, all bundled up in a warm winter jacket. She laughed gently, poor thing looked like a giant marshmallow.

"I'll be over here, go have fun. Remember keep your gloves, hat, scarf, and definately your coat on. I don't want you catching cold." She bent down catching his chin in her fingers before turning him around. She gave him a nudge before sitting down on the bench. It took him a moment but she finally saw him run off towards the playground. He was such a silly little kid.

Kasch rushed off to the playground as best he could. In his puffy jacket, he waddled much like a penguin though he found climbing the steps to the slide was easier. Being cold out there were few if any children around and he lounged on the top of the slide looking around. It was so quiet and it made a shiver run down his spine. He couldn't help feeling alone and almost scared. It was eerie.

Arya was sulking, and shivering and muttering beneath her breath as she trudged through the snow. It was so cold. TOO damn cold. She never remembered experiencing anything this cold before. So why was she out here where it was so ungodly cold?

She glared at the red-haired woman accompanying her. "It'll be good for us to get some fresh air and excersize. I'm getting fat." was what her gramma said.

So here they were, dressed up like those people called Eskimos her gramma told her about. It wasn't very comfortable, that was certain. She could barely walk in the thick, down coat.

"Go on, play! I'll be here, jogging for a spell."

Arya sighed and watched Huni jog off, well she might as well made the best of the situation. She spotted someone playing and brightened. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if she were with someone. "Hiiiii!!!" she yells, trudging as fast as she could towards Kasch.

Life shouted out at Kasch, or wait. That was a person? He blinked a few times his mind having taken to thinking. A smile lit up his face as he waves at the girl, slidding down the slide whilst waving his arms above his head. He laughed as he got up, finding his balance hard to regain at first. No one wonder people didn't sit down in coats, you couldn't get up.

He huffed hating the fact that his wings were confined under his jacket. He had no way to lift himself up now. Leaning back he threw his legs down and eventually righted himself. Now that his obstacle was over, a grin returned to his face and he rushed to meet the girl.

"Hi! I'm Kasch! What's your name?" he greeted the child happily. Honestly, he wasn't sure if it was a girl or a boy. He thought it was a girl but he couldn't help wondering. She had such short hair. He'd never seen a girl with short hair and it was a little mind boggling. He was a naive little thing and it'd take him time to realize that not everyone followed the old fashioned standards.

Arya had never once thought herself to be the clumsy sort, she rarely tripped unless an outside force intervened. So imagine her chagrin when the mass of clothes wrapped around her legs caused her to lose balance and send her tumbling face first into the cold, wet snow. She pushed herself up onto her knees, fuming.

"I'm Arya and I HATES this stuff!" she declared to Kasch. The poor boy was unfortunate enough to be the wrongful target of the little girl's wrath. "Why's it gotta be so wet and cold?!" she demanded to know.

Eyes wide, Kasch went to take a step back. He felt like a cartoon character as Arya's yelling caused him to fall backwards. He landed square on his bottom and he stared up at the girl. "I-I dun know..." he squeaked out, confused.

For one, he really didn't know about snow. For two, he didn't know why she was yelling at him. She wasn't happy he knew but he hadn't done anything. He flinched as he opened his eyes expecting more yelling. He looked at her, staying silent for a moment.

"You, you dun like snow?" He blushed realizing that was a stupid question. Of course she didn't like snow, if she did you wouldn't have been yelling about how she hated it. "I-erm. It's not snowy on the slide?" he offered.

The Passenger's eyes tapered into narrow slits as she fumed. "No, I don't likes it. It's wet, and cold and stupid!" she snarled kicking at the white substance only to trip backwards on the slippery surface. She growled in frustration and thrased as she fought to get up. Serving only to spray those near her with a shower of snow.

"I want it to be summer!" she whimpered angrily before she finally managed to sit up. She finally seemed to have gotten most of her anger out of the way.

"Slides's no fun if only few people." She replied, slightly calmer. "Is there swings? I like to push." She states.

Kasch squinted his eyes closed as she yelled out again. He leaned back hoping to avoid anymore shouting but when he heard a whimper, he peeked through one eye. "Are you ok?" he ventured seeing that she had fallen back.

When she trashed causing snow to fly at him, he flinched. This is very different from any other meeting he'd had with a child. He cautiously ventured forward as she sit up. "Yes, there are lots of swings," he nodded offering a smile. Perhaps now she wouldn't be so angry?

He moved over, turning to point at some nearby swings. "Do you want to swing?" he asked. Somehow the idea of her pushing him he couldn't help but see himself falling face first into the snow.

"I really wants to go back inside where it warm and not wet and cold." Arya answered honestly, "But I gots to wait for my gramma, she's running around cuz she says she's fat but she's not." She pursed her lips, "But 'kay to go swing. Iffin there be more'n one we can swing together then I can push." she grinned.

Arya didn't seem all too concerned about the impression she was making on Kasch. He seemed just fine in her book, he hadn't run away screaming from her, and he hadn't tried anything that might make her angry. Yes, she could like this kid and as of that moment she saw no reason why they wouldn't be friends.

Kasch nodded cautiously at first before seeing that for once she wasn't yelling or anything. Feeling safe he smiled reaching out to take Arya's hand and lead her to the swings, it'd help make sure neither of them fell down again he hoped. "Gramma? What's a gramma?" he asked as he walked towards the swings. Unlike Arya's guardian, his didn't have any parents. Then again he wasn't quite born though having been a statue he must've had a creator. That was far from a parent though.

"Swinging is fun! Sissy says I'm not allowed to jump out of them like the other kids though." Nearing the swings, he plopped down on one waiting for Arya to sit down before swinging. He smiled glad to have found a new friend.

Arya blinked in surprise as the boy took her hand. It was the first time a boy ever did that, they usually just walked beside her and stuff. She wasn't sure if she liked it or didn't like. She'd pass judgement later. The dark-haired girl found Kasch question weird, how can one not know what a gramma was? Maybe he had one but called her something else? That would be it since she knows people call their dads as Daddy but she calls Linny Itay. "Gramma is the mama of your mama or daddy. I calls my daddy Itay, I dunno why but I just like to." she shrugged.

Seeing the empty swings, Arya quickly got one beside Kasch. Even through the pants she could feel how cold the seat was and she cringed. She really hated the cold. "Wanna see how high I can go? Bet it's higher'n you!" she challenged.

"My dad doesn't have a mommy." He pondered for a moment unsure of if he should be sad or not but shrugged. Perhaps he would ask his sister later. If Arya's was bringing her out in the cold when the girl didn't want to be out, a gramma didn't sound like a good thing.

Kasch grinned at the callenge. He was sure she could go higher than him but then, he had a secret weapon. That was until he remember he had on a stupid coat that hid and crushed his wings against his back. Still, he would try to beat her. "I'll try and beat you!" he chirped with laughter.

Arya cocked her head at Kasch's response, how could his daddy not have a mommy? Was his daddy like Ning? Built rather than born? She lost interest in asking the boy when he took up her challenge.

She grinned, this was going to be fun! "Betcha can't!" she responded, and promptly kicked herself up against the ground. The swing moved back slightly and swung forward, and again she kicked up her legs to gain more momentum.

"Wheeee!" she cheered. "Let's go~"

If Kasch had been paying attention, he might've explained that his father never spoke of having relatives. So to his knowledge he had no parents. He would ask though. Maybe he did have a Gramma, and she just hadn't come to visit yet.

His mind switched completely to the swings once Arya spoke again. He grinned as he bounced into the swing, throwing his body back and legs out as soon as he had a forward movement. He giggled as he tried to swing but found it was hard to move with his bulky coat and finally stopped.

He said nothing, just unzipped his jacket and threw it on the ground. A grin spread on his face as his white wings stretched out. Now maybe he could swing, without feeling his wings were being crushed or cramped. He folded them back rather than around himself and began again.

"I can still win!" he laughed, not really caring. Even the cold wasn't going to make him stop trying, though he was sure Arya would win. He honestly was just having fun.

Arya's competitive side wouldn't let her go easy on Kasch, especially not when he revealed his wings. "No fair, you've got 'em wings!" She gasped, amazed more that the boy could stand the cold than him actually possessing the aforementioned appendages.

And then she sneezed, throwing her off her swinging rhythm.
