It was late in the morning, not quite noontime and Mleli was out and about on a hunt. She'd come to the decision that her newfound home would be the perfect place to stay, and had also come to accept the little golden snake that she shared it with. Her acceptance of Kifuno was easier than she expected, and he was even in her thoughts while she hunted. Only one had she hunted for someone other than her, and that had been a bit easier since it was not hunting for a snake.
Her excuse for the effort? He obviously couldn't take care of himself.
She crept through the trees slowly and quietly, with her head lowered and her ears perked attentively. Little sound came from her paws as she stepped carefully over rocks and roots, and she kept her attention mainly on her senses of hearing and smell. (( XD Start for Iris. Haha, sorry for poor quality. *sulk* ))

-Tego lounged almost royally among the tree limbs, his ego still soaring high from his 'win' the few days before. Who cared about that stupid leopardess Hivu and her freak babies. He didn't need her, his skills at tormenting were quite well enough honed to put the pressure on someone else.
And he'd proven it just days ago.. on that lioness. See if SHE ever stepped into the jungle again. A wide grin settled upon his maw, Tego streched his paws out even further, causing the branches and leaves to rustle beneath him. Life was good.-

The sound of rustling leaves reached the leopardess' attentive ears and her steps slowed to a silent halt. Something in the trees would do no good to her hunt, being to far up to catch easily and possibly loud enough to startle away any prey she did want to catch. Mleli sighed quietly and glanced upward to see what she was dealing with, mainly out of curiosity. She was about to move on without a care when she caught a glimmer of something familiar through the trees, something she could not place.
With a small smirk, she decided to change her path to get a closer look. Food in one direction was pretty well the same in another direction, after all. So, resuming quiet steps, she changed her route to head closer to the trees the sound came from.

-Had he seen her, he would have recognized her immediately. The white and brown speckled ghost of his past. The female that tugged through his nightmares on occassion.
Perhaps that's why he'd become so attached to Hivu. The spots. And the vunerability hiding behind her feisty and argumentitve words. Bahhh.. He shuffled, tail flicking unpleasantly. Why'd she always pop into his mind. That little girl. Bah indeed.
Letting his eyes shift upward at the soft fluttering of wings, he watched a pair of small birds bicker, pondering over whether or not he was hungry enough to try and catch one of them.-

Mleli walked around slowly, carefully choosing her path to get a clearer view of what she'd seen. When she finally got a good view, she found herself gazing upward at another leopard, and she realized at once why he was so familiar.
She snorted a short laugh, at herself and at the situation. What a lovely surprise, finding an old 'friend' so close to her new home. She paused a moment to decide if she wanted to move on or see how he was doing. Mleli was quite ignroant to just how badly their last encounter had gone, having run off before she could check.

-The unnatural sound of the laugh, as quiet as it might have been was enough to gain his attention, ears swiveling to meet it, before his eyes could fall upon the familar sight. And when they did, he froze still and silent, trying to convince himself that what was below him was an illusion.. some trick of his mind.
Letting his claws sink into the branch, as if somehow it would protect him, he felt the hair on the back of his neck and spine bristle upwards, his maw pulling back in a mild growl. If she was real, what the hell was she doing here?-

It was foolish to even consider leaving, for Mleli would never just walk away from a chance like this. She was still on a high from what happened with that angry lion goddess. Not only that, but the look on his face was rather amusing.
"Well well," she said, her amusement showing in her tone, "What are you doing out here?"

-The confident and cold mask he'd created over the years shattered momentarily. And for a moment, as her familar voice touched his ears Tego felt like a cub once more. Afraid, vunerable. His heart pattered as his ears lay back dumbstruck.
What was she doing here?
What was HE doing? Cowering here like an idiot? The mask.. that domineering nature he'd developed.. How could it disappear so quickly. He was no worse then he had been before she showed up.
He was strong. In body and mind. He was the tormenter.. the domineer. He made people cower at his words and claws. He had to show her.
Calling forth the most unpleasant of looks he could manage, he growled back down to her.- "This is where I live. What are you doing in my territory?"

Mleli watched him recall a strong, dominant expression, seeing it falter before that, if only slightly. She watched him, unmoved by his growling or the tone of voice in which he declared this as his territory.
"Your territory?" she replied with another short laugh, looking around her a bit, "I never would have imagined that. Not hiding away in the shadows after what happened?" It was arrogant to think she'd have that kind of effect on someone, but whether or not she believe what she said was not clear. How ironic it was that she'd taken up residence in, or so close to, Tego's home when she went hunting for a new home. She turned her gaze back to the tree and the leopard high in it.

"I don't hide from anything" -Internally he seethed, but externally he dug up his composure the best that he could manage. Trying hard to gain that look of indifference as he tried his best to weasel his way out from under her words.
Soft his tail began to flick, a soft comfort to himself, that gave the sign that he was trying to make her the prey instead.- "I'll have you know that I've been living here and defending this territory for ages. I've ran off more stupid girls, and torn apart more insignifigant males then you could even began to imagine."
"So turn around Mleli." -He almost spat her name, eyes narrowing softly on the familar pelt. Scare her away. Having her around was the last thing he needed. Ecspecially considering how easily and quickly she seemed to effect his facade.-

Mleli quirked a brow at his reply and subtle but meaningful motions. Still smirking as he explained how he's guarded his territory, she took a seat, curling her tail around her feet and making a display out of getting comfortable. She made it clear that she had no intention to leave so easily, and that her ego was, if anything, larger than it had been at their last encounter.
"You make it sound like I fall under the same category as these stupid girls," she remarked, shaking her head, "I'm not going anywhere. You'll have to be more persuasive than that." The leopardess had no intention of staying in that exact spot forever, but she felt she might enjoy an extended stay in the area- even moreso now that she knew Tego was around, and thought that it would bother him and he wasn't going to do anything about it.

"You seem to think you aren't one of them?" -He chirped, a taunt familiar to his recent lifestyle. And as lame as it was, it soothed him. However her stubborness did not. Huffing lightly, he lifted himself from the branch.- "You might want to rethink that missy. I'm alot bigger then you now."
-Sliding from the tree, he landed on the soft soil with a gentle plod, catching himself almost gracefully, before he ruffled himself up, standing as tall and large as he could manage. A bluff only made stronger by the softly visable scar that decorated his cheek.- "Don't think I won't return your kindness."

"Think? I know I'm not one of them," she called back to him, not at all disturbed by the attempt at an insult. Mleli put on a somewhat exagerated look of surprise when he informed her of his size advantage. She knew he was bigger and stronger than she was, but she really didn't seem to care about that. Since the little episode with Jack, the leopard's confidence had only gone up.
"So you finally grew up," Mleli commented brightly, not moving from her seated position as Tego descended from the tree. Her eyes wandered over his large form, and then back to his face just as he threatened her, rolling her eyes just a bit, "Physically, at least."

-He sauntered forward a few steps, though the familarity of the leopardess kept him from getting as intimately close as he usually found himself to others. Almost bizzarely he stopped an entire length away from her, puffing his body once more instead.- "Atleast I don't beat up on cubs, oh mature one."
-His tail lashed out unpleasantly as his eyes narrowed once more on the familar pelt. She was larger too, body sleekined with age, features drawn out in the delicacies of femininity. And if his stomach weren't already churning with the fear and anger it was, then he might have actually admitted to himself that she looked lovely. But words of a very different sort escaped him, rumbling in a growl.- "What delusion has you believing you aren't stupid Mleli? Picked on enough defenseless creatures to trick yourself into believing you're actually worth something. Amount to something?"
-Ha, talk about the pot calling the kettle black.-

Mleli seemed undisturbed by the male's decision to step closer, a good deal of her was convinced of her superiority and safety. Whatever small voice was in the back of her telling her to be careful went completely ignored.
"You forget that I was a cub myself at that time," she reminded him, sounding rather unconvinced and almost amused at the topic, "and that you deserved what you got." Nevermind backing up that opinion, she felt it was implicit. Her steely eyes wandered again, and she noted she certainly would not get away with what she did before.
"No delusions, merely facts," she answered wistfully, smirking at Tego, "I've taken on gods and won. No defenceless creatures needing picking on since you, I'm afraid. What does that say about your worth?" She was bragging, for she was most pleased with her encounter with Boma'burudi. It was an exageration to say gods, and misleading to say 'take on' when she only had an arguement with her.
"I daresay it does seem you've toughened up, though," Mleli added after a slight pause, and it was hard to say whether it was a compliment or an attempt to take credit for it.
