Dhar had left Ithi at the boundary of the Kusuni lands and that is where the female had stood for a while. She was worried about seeing Ny though she knew she had to talk to her, she was the only one who Ithi coud really talk to about this.
She entered the pridelands carefully somewhat worried about what exactly she was going to say to Ny, could she tell her the truth? With Denge gone and dead and... no she couldn't. Ny could know the new truth that was the truth in reality, Ithi had just made it easier for herself, yes, that was all.
She moved very slowly, not wanting to get the attention from anyone other then Nyunya, where ever she was. "Oh Ny." She sighed and continued to look, however she was large, very large and needed to rest so often that the search seemed hopeless and somewhat ridiculous.

Fortunately for Ithi, the search for Nyunya wouldn't take long. The petite, slender female was currently stretching her legs, dithering near the borders of the lands she now called home, and debating whether or not she had the time to travel over to the Maziko pride and visit a couple of friends. It seemed unlikely, with the sun in its current position. Still, even if she couldn't make her trip in the time left before sundown, she could enjoy the peace and quiet of solitude. Since much of her cubhood had been spent in such a way, moments like these were always dear to her, especially as she now had a loving mate and four cubs in her life. Moments of true aloneness were rare in her new little family. She loved them all dearly, more than her own life, but old habits die hard, and sometimes she just needed a little time with just herself as company.
She turned slowly from the border, her eyes lazily scanning the area before her as she rotated her body, then snapping back at a familiar figure she would recognise anywhere. Her mother, Ithi! What was she doing here? And more importantly, where was Denge, her other mother? And... was Ithi pregnant? That last was stunning to Ny, but it was rather obvious Ithi indeed was. Apparently a lot had happened since they had all parted ways.
Her pace changed from a lazy stroll to a fast walk, moving toward one of the others Ny loved most in all the world. "Mother?" she called out, not in question that it really was Ithi she beheld, but just... questioning. There were a lot of things she was going to have to ask Ithi, it seemed. Her day was not going to be as solitary as she had originally hoped.

Ithi had a slight limp, which was one of the reasons she was moving slowly. She didn't want to let it show too much she always had been and will be a proud creature.
The sound of Nyunya's voice caught her ears but at first Ithi thought it was her imagenation. What possibility was there that Nyunya would just happen to be wandering around near where she was, so when she finally looked up and saw Denge's daughter she did not move but collapse. She was and always would be Denge's child.
"Nyunya..."
She didn't know what to do or what to say or anything. Denge was dead. She was pregnant with Nyunya's own fathers cubs. She was wounded, she had Nyeks stupid mark on her face and she was weak very weak.

Nyunya was reacting before she'd even really assimilated what she was seeing. Her legs were propelling her across the ground, and she had covered half the distance beetween them before real worry and concern gripped her mind. Nyunya was assuming, of course, that it was Ithibati's pregnancy that was affecting her like this. She knew nothing of her foster mother's liason with her hated birth father, couldn't even begin to guess at the emotional bombshell that was due to be dropped on her. She remembered well the many grievances of pregnancy, lethargy and weakness only a few of that many, so it was a perfectly natural assumption for Nyunya to make.
"Mother," she said softer, reaching Ithi's side and leaning down to nuzzle her cheek gently. "Are you all right?" Nyunya was now fervently wishing her mate, Taabu, was with her. The petite lioness was sure that, with her condition, Ithi needed to be out of the sun and into the cool shade, to rest. Taabu was a big and strong lion, and he would have been able to give Ithi all the support she needed to get to someplace better suited for a pregnant female, but Nyunya was small in comparison to her love, and would have a difficult time helping Ithi move, for her adoptive mother was bigger than her.

Ithi was somewhat ashamed as her daughter came closer. Though they weren't blood related Ithi had always loved Ny as much as her own children, more infact then one of them.
"Ny... Im sorry.." She mumbled as she attempted to stand. Her frame thin and weak apart from the large belly that obviously carried cubs. If they survived the birth, none would be exactly healthy as she wasn't. Oh what a bad mother she was.
"Ny...Denge...oh my Denge..." She sobbed a little not really making sense. Her paws ached, her heart ached, her whole body ached and all she wanted to do was curl up with Denge, her Denge.

Nyunya's own heart ached as she took in her mother's deteriorated state. She began to wonder just how far Ithi had been travelling, if she'd been alone. "Don't try to move yet. Just rest. Please." What had been happening since she and her family had parted ways? It was becoming clearer to her that it was something awful. That feeling wasn't improved by what Ithi said after.
She suddenly had a cold, sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach. "What... what's wrong with her?" Her voice got a touch breathier in her concern. Her birth mother, Denge, was Nyunya's idol. The little lioness knew she had a temper, and after meeting her father had a good idea where it came from, but she balanced it out, mostly, by being like Denge, having Denge's kindness as a part of her. Now that her own litter had grown past the cub stage, Nyunya was entertaining ideas of finding out where her mother was, and either taking them to see her, or bringing her to them if the distance was too far. If there was something wrong with Denge... the trip would have to be sooner rather than later, for Nyunya's own peace of mind. She had to know her birth mother was all right.
Never did she entertain the idea that Denge was gone. It was a place her mind had never gone, and never wanted to go. Of course she knew death was a part of life, but she never wanted it to be part of Denge's or Ithi's. Not so soon, if ever.

Ithi did as she was told and didn't try to move. She tried to calm down a little before saying anything, taking in deep breaths slowly.
"Denge. My poor Denge... all gone... she went... oh damn Denge.. you left me...Why did you die on us?!" She started sobbing again, it was hard for her not to. When she had heard the news the first thing she had done was turn on her own son but Dharba was a good boy and looked after her, he brought her here.
"Dhar... bought me here. He said it best... I see you... let you know what happened." She was talking a little clearer now, sobbing still. She knew nothing about Denges death only that she was infact dead. It had driven the lioness insane, so much so that the only comfort she found was pretending to be something she wasn't and that had done her a world of good as she now laid infront of Ny, pregnant with three cubs and with what seemed to be nothing left.
"Ny. I need your help. My cubs... they.. they.. must be yours." She was giving Ny alot of information at once but she had to. Ny needed to hear it all as it happened as Ithi didn't have the strength to keep stopping and starting.
"Your father... these scars." She moved her head so Ny could clearly see the three V's on the side of her face. "The cubs... they can't ever know him, I can't allow it... oh Ny." She paused for a little to get her breath back and looked back up at her. "You have children, I heard you did... Please... they can't know him, they can't know they are related.." She stopped. Her heart was aching with pain. Her only love was dead and she had three cubs that she never wanted to see.

Time ground to a halt.
Nyunya clearly and distinctly felt her heart stop in her chest. What seemed an infinite amount of time passed before she felt it almost reluctantly start up again. The sun was beating down hot on their backs, but Nyunya's blood ran cold. Denge... was dead? No, it couldn't possibly be true. Ithi was wrong, it was as simple as that. Denge had only been here a little while ago, the day Ny had found out she was pregnant. Her mother just... couldn't be dead.
"No," she said, shaking her head. "She's not dead. You're wrong. No." But even as she said it, she knew, in her heart of hearts, that she was the one who was wrong. Ithi loved Denge; she wouldn't say such a thing were it not the painful truth. But just because she knew it deep down to be true didn't mean she had to accept it. She wouldn't for a long time, perhaps not ever. It was too painful, and too unreal, to be accepted easily.
At Ithi's next words, however, Nyunya's world was again rocked to the core. She didn't flash it around and make it obvious, but Nyunya was a smart girl. From what Ithi said, even in her shocked state, it took her less than a second to make the vital connection: these cubs... were Nyekundu's. It meant he'd again hurt someone she loved, and the scars that now touched her foster mother's face only added insult to injury. Her infamous temper rose in her, and she latched onto it, because it helped keep away the mind-consuming grief that was slowly creeping in. Anger at the one she would never truly acknowledge as her father, the one of her parents she would rather be dead.
Her claws scratched the dirt unconsciously, though what she really wanted to do was lash out at something, and when she spoke, her voice was tight with the anger that pulsed through her. "Oh, I'll make sure they never know him. My own cubs don't even know his name, and they never will if I can help it." She'd just unconsciously agreed to look after these cubs, without mentioning it to Taabu, but at this moment she didn't realise or care. If she could consider it an insult to her father to not allow his cubs to even know his name, she would feel vindicated. And it would be saving her siblings from a cruel, twisted lion who deserved death more than any other she had ever met. Ithi's cubs would always be family to her, be her brothers and sisters, but this time... it would be true, at least half. They would be connected by blood. It was a tiny ray of light on a dark horizon for Ny.

Ithi felt sick for Ny, noy because of her pregnancy or even the fact that she had been with Nyek but for her lovers daughter and the news of Denge's death. The worst thing about it all, Ithi could only lay there and do nothing.
She got up, standing up a little and walked towards Ny, rubbing her face against her daughter, whether by blood or not Ithi loved Ny just as much as she loved her own children.
"Im sorry Ny. Im so sorry." Ithi just wanted to comfort her daughter, the fact that she had odd contractions every now and then meant nothing to her. Ny was all Ithi had left of Denge and thanfully Ny had a family, one that would live on and that made Ithi smile.
"I love you Ny... Thank you." She tried to smile but she was too tired and in too much pain to give any smile that could be classed as reassuring. Ithi was carrying cubs that were related to Ny which meant they were related to Denge which meant at last Ithi was related to Denge, in an odd kind of way, but they were related and were lovers, and always would be.

Ny didn't feel sick quite yet. There was a coldness and a numbness around the edge of her awareness, the edge of her heart, but acceptance and acknowledgement had not even begun to set in yet, and so there would be a time before the full force of all the agony and gut-wrenching misery hit her. All she did was press her face into the fur of her adoptive mother and stay there still, to comfort Ithi if nothing else. A bombshell may have been dropped on Ny on what was otherwise a perfect and pleasant morning, but she couldn't forget Ithi's suffering was as terrible as her own, worse because Ny's hadn't even taken hold yet.
"I love you, too, mum," she replied after a moment, voice quiet. She pulled away after allowing the exchange of affection to continue for a brief time, always too brief in these situations, but they could resume later. Right now, Ithi needed somewhere to rest, and for Ny to hunt for her.
"Come on, we have to get you somewhere you can lay down and take it easy. My den isn't far from here... you can lay there, and rest. Taabu won't mind, and my cubs will be happy to meet you at last." She tried to smile, too, but it wasn't as bright and beautiful as it usually was. It was a pale imitation, but she tried at least.

Ithi didn't say anything more she just nodded and followed her daughter, she was in alot of pain and couldn't talk much more anymore. She needed to rest, lay down and give birth. That is what seemed to be the most sensible and clever thing to do right now. Lay down and get rid of these cubs from her body, then die if that was even possible.

Nyunya led her mother along in silence, not sure what to say, and not really sure if she wanted to do much more talking. She had thought today was going to be a good day, a day of peace and quiet and solitude, and being a mother and mate, those things were rare in her life now. Instead... she had her mother back with her, who had suddenly become the bearer of the worst news Nyunya could ever have received from anyone, barring one thing: that Taabu and/or her cubs were gone. She might pull through her mother's death and reach the other side in tact, but not if any of those were taken from her. Growling lightly under her breath, she shook her head to try and clear it of these depressing thoughts.
She hadn't wandered far from her home. It was a short trip back to the den she and Taabu raised their children in, and she turned back to look at Ithi finally. "It's there," she said, jerking her head toward the mouth of it. "You can rest in there while I find something for you to eat."

Ithi felt sick. She could see what her news had done to Ny and it made her feel so ashamed. She had let Denge die... She had then let Nyek do what he wanted with her and now... now she was here heavily pregnant breaking the news to Denge's daughter.
She nodded at Ny and walked to the cave, what else could she do. She was just worthless, everything about her at the moment was bad, the news she had, the cubs inside her, it was always bad!

[I'm finally back! X___X Sososorry about it all. AOHell has earned its nickname well. >__>]Silence continued from Ny as her paws took her to the mouth of her den. A quick peek inside told her her own cubs were thankfully out, most likely with their father. Never before had she been so relieved when Taabu took them out without letting her know where they were. She stepped back far enough to let Ithi move into the shaded den.
"Is there anything you need me to get for you? Do you need me to hunt for you?" Running a critical eye over Ithi's frame, Ny thought she did indeed need Ny to hunt for her. Ithi looked nothing like the healthy lioness she'd been when Ny was last with her.

((Hope ya don't mind but I am gonna have Ithi birth her cubs.... as they already grown and not born yet! Hehe!))
Ithi looked up at her lovers daughter and shook her head. She was just grateful to be able to have somewhere to rest. The smells of the cave were of Ny and another and other scents all mingled into one. It seemed homely, very much so. It was a comfort after all she had been through.
It was just as she was about the relax the first wave of pain came. She knew what is was istantly and let out a small cry of pain. "Ny..."
Ithi didn't know what would happen, she was too weak to give birth to her cubs and she hadn't a clue whether or not she would survive. "I love you Ny." She gasped after getting the words out as another flood of pain took over.
