The frog man had been keeping to himself mostly since his visit to Marshall, hopping about the village to root through the various garbage disposing points for not only bugs and mice to eat, but any little disgarded bits that could prove usefull. And so, with a bag filled with old toothpaste caps and soda cans to reap for the metal, the frog hopped from trash-dumping station to trash-dumping station. He wasn't building anything in particular at that moment, but staying well supplied was a must if he was asked to make anything was necissary.

Richard had been watching Newt go about his bussiness for about a half hour or so from the height of his duplex balcony. He wasn't quite sure was he found so interesting about the frog man rooting through the garbage but Newt had attracted his full undivided attention.

Maybe he'd have a bit of fun with the little man. Smirking to himself Richard slipped down his steps and walked toward the village center at a brisk pace. He hoped to make it to the village center before Newt finished digging through his lastest pile of trash.

The frog man paused for just a moment, throat dancing as he glanced around instinctively for preditors. He thought he had heard something, but then again he was fairly parinoid. With a little ribbit, he glanced back to his work, digging through the can near the duplexes quickly. Annie wouldn't come this close, would she? Of course not. He'd be fine. Just being parinoid.

Richard made as if to go into the village center but turned away at the last moment to follow the wall. The very tip of his tail curled with excitement as he crept closer to the unsupecting frog man. His tentacles curled over the tops of his shoulders, quivering with tension.

Pressing himself againist a wall so he was out of Newt view Richard and waited. He considered his options, sneaking up and saying "hi!" loudly or maybe a quick tentacle tag to the rear? The frog was a bit far away for the tentacle, he'd have to step out of his hiding place to do either of them. Unless he could get the frog man to move towards him a bit. But what would attract his attention? He noted that the frog seemed to be gathering bits of metal in his bag.

Richard fished about in his pockets. Finding a shiney metal pen that he always carried around him he tossed it a couple feet infront of him where it glittered in the sunlight. If Newt came to investigate Richard would be right there.

The thought that what he was doing could be considered cruel or at least mean never entered Richard's head. At the moment Newt was a toy.

Like a raccoon caught in the act, Newt flinched at the subtle sound of something moving once again, and turned to peer around in search of whatever it was. That intesne feeling of being watched resurfaced in his belly, but of course, they were always being watched, weren't they? It was difficult to differentiate the Big Brother parinoia from the instinctual parinoia, but the timid amphibious man stayed as calm as he could manage. At least he wasn't fleeing. In the absence of anyone about, his eyes did catch the glimmering light of the sun reflecting off of the metal pen, and he perked up.

Carefully, hesitantly, he set his bag down to hop towards the mysterious object, and hwen he was close enough to recognize what it was, his face lit up. What a find! He wondered if it still worked- did someone drop it? Should he make a "found" poster? Or was it cast away? Would it be terrible of him to keep it? Did it still have any ink? He landed in front of it, picking it up in a webbed hand to look it over enthusiastically.

Newt was now right in front of him, his back to Richard. He took a silent step forward, into the sunlight. He cast a shadow over Newt, the shadow's tentacles quivered. Richard was grinning ear to ear.

Pen gripped tightly, Newt tensed as the shadow spread over him, his throat trembling and eyes widening. "Ah..."

It was just too tempting. Richard leaned over with a playful growl and as he neared Newts ear he shouted: BOO!

No sooner had the word left his mouth did the frog man give a terrified croak, leaping several feet into the air. That was the most Richard could register befor the pen clattered back down to the path and Newt was gone. One could almost imagine the frog-shaped cloud of dust left behind him as he lept to duck behind the closest thing that could serve as cover- the trashcan. Crouch and hide! Hide or be eaten!! Where was the water? The lake was too far away from here! No mud to hide in, no brush to dive under!

Richard stumbled back try to avoid getting hit by Newt's sudden transformation into an airborn projectile. He fell againist the fall as he peiced together where the little green man had dived to.

He chuckled lowly as he advanced on the trash can Newt hid behind. "I gotcha good there eh?" He peered over the top of the trashcan. "No hard feelings eh?" The smile was both good natured and predatory at the same time. He had truly enjoyed that, a successful hunt.

Newt didn't wait long enough to hear what the man had to say, though, his mind on overdrive as the froggish urge to ESCAPE ESCAPE ESCAPE coursed through him. With another terrified croak, he lept away again on autopilot but unfortunatly didn't have time to look or think ahead. Directly behind the trashcan was nothing but wall, and with a painfull sounding crack, his leap was cut short and he was sent sprawling onto his back seeing stars.

"Hey wa-" Richard cut off by the crack of Newt's skull hitting the brick wall.

"Oooo." Richard winced, the first stirrings of guilt crept into his mind. Maybe this hadn't been such a good a idea after all. Richard knelt down and placed a claws hand on Newts shoulder. "You okay there?"

The first thing to come from the fallen frog's throat was a pained groan, the second, a paniced yelp as his arms flinched to cover his flat, neckless face, enormous eyes screwed shut tightly, "P-p-please d-don't!!" He squeeked with a terrified addition of "KrrKIT!!"

Rihcard had spooked people before but he had never induced actual terror before. He quirked an eyebrow at the frog man, momentarly confused. "Don't what?"

He held up all four of his hands in pacifing gesture, palms out. "Easy there. I'm not going to hurt ya."

Newt trembled and wimpered, clutching his head as he attempted to right himself to get away, "I... I... I w-was... I'm s-sorry I... I d-didn't m-mean... I w-was... I j-just... Oooh..." His vision swam when he sat up too quickly, the blow to his nearly bald head making his bolbous eyes cross.
