"A drop of your blood and your life shall be renewed," Adam whispered staring down from Notre Dame. His eyes stared at the Seine river in a mixture of hope and arrogance. Beneath the water his blood's being had sunk into a grave that was unfitting for the great dragon's power. His lips fell into a smirk at the prospect of raising Gargouille. "St. Roman(us) was a fool if he thought he could put an end to you, a damned fool," he added a madness lingering in his moonstone eyes.

Turning his back to the river, he chuckled at the gargoyles that stood frozen as statues. For the last century his dappling in sorcery had paid off as the sunlight no longer turned him to stone. It was an old spell that had taken much time to perfect. Had he known he would become worthless to him before the day's end, he may have been looking for something else. Instead his only thought lingered on the knife resting on the ground. He crouched down taking the handle in his hand.

The sun cast an orange yellow glare on the river. The air seemed to grow thick as Adam returned to his starting point. The blade pushed into his flesh and he smiled as he began to bleed. He blew across his palm sending a drop of blood into the air, which cradled it. Guiding it gently to the Seine, the air grew dark as it became heavy with sin. Raising the dead or even the sleeping had never been seen as a virture nor had the priests believed it should be toyed with.

As the blood dipped onto the surface of the water, a red flash erupted slicing vertically up to the sky. It was only a moment before it fell but it was apparent in Adam's eyes that something had gone wrong. His mouth fell agape as the wind blew through rustling his blonde hair. From where the red flash had hit the sky, a stone became clear falling towards the man with great speed. His spell had been interrupted by someone stronger and he knew nothing of the consequences. There was no savoir for him now, his home would be long forgotten by the time he awoke.

Sunlight poured down through the leaves. Somewhere in the forest outside the orphanage, a living corpse had been laying unconscious. It was only now that his eyes fluttered open and Adam got his first look at this new home. It was nothing like Notre Dame and worse, Gargouille was lost to him now. He let out a groan feeling as if he had been thrown from the top of the building, though in some way he had. He moved his arms to push against the ground, his muscles tensed and bruised from the forceful landing. He clenched his jaw, inhaling sharply as shots of pain echoed through his arms, shoulders, and back.

Though it was day, his body hadn't yet adjusted to the time and still felt that it was night. For that reason he still appeared a mortal man. He only slightly would've preferred to be a statue now because of the pain he felt throughout his body. It'd be twenty-four hours before his body would realize the sun from the moon, which was both a blessing and a curse.

Sitting on his knees, he noticed his shirt had been torn open. Thankfully, he was still wearing clothes though his shirt had one ripped sleeve. It wasn't what he noticed first though. He gave a sigh noticing the faint splatter of blood on his shirt. A sniff of the air revealed that it wasn't his or Gargouille's. It definately belonged to someone else though he didn't know who.

The scent was not a pleasant one. He could tell it was from the person who had interrupted his spell, someone of pure nature. The thought alone was enough to disgust him. He sighed wondering what he should do now. He was obviously stuck here, without any texts or spells. It was only a moment before his mind returned to who had made him end up here. Their was a strong scent of mortal in the blood and a feminine ordor reeked for the person was violent against women. Their was too much to process in the scent of blood on his shirt and he ripped the cloth. He didn't want to smell that scent anymore.

Stuffing the fabric piece into his pocket, he looked up to see he was on a path that had been made over time. Seeing as he had no idea where he was, he figured he might as well follow it. It didn't much matter that he had no idea where it went.

Kali had appeared at the orphanage after blowing up the game of Clue. She'd gotten fed up with her siblings winning and had promptly decided if she couldn't win, no one could play. The board was left charcoal black while the cards all were half burnt turning at ash at the touch. She didn't want to play with anyone now unless she could beat them up. She was angry and she just wanted to make someone pay for the fact she always got the shaft. At least, she thought so.

She'd headed into the woods with a sigh, arms crossed over her chest as she kicked at the ground. "God darn it. I'm sick of having siblings, they get everything. Linn has two friends, Cy gets a friend, everyone loves Mie, Prem seems to have a girlfriend and a friend, the only one who doesn't get lots is Rosa but she hates me." The elf growled trudging along, thinking was making her angrier.

She wasn't paying attention to things and promptly ran smack into Adam. She fumbled backwards swinging her arms out to her sides in hopes of staying balanced. The action only proved to catch her more off guard and she fell back landing on her back. "Why don't you watch where you're going!" Kali shouted. She looked up at the man wondering who he was.

"I'm not the one who was looking at the ground while truding around with a pout," Adam shot back with a smirk. She was just a kid, a little kid throwing a tantrum. Still there was a chance she held some real anger though that was all he'd get out of her. It would figure he'd meet a child first.

"Oh and I suppose you weren't? Then why did you not move, hmm? If you were paying so much attention!" Kali asked. She wasn't at all going to let him blame her. She wasn't going to be blamed for anything, especially since it was all his fault.

"Ooh and who are you? The Queen of the land? What makes you think you aren't at fault for running into me? I suppose you're treated like a little princess and get everything you want?" Adam glared at the little girl expecting another smart reply from her. He got something quite different instead.

Kali's reddish eyes looked up at Adam with a mixture of deluted anger and pain. His words had stung because she knew they weren't true and that he was being sarcastic. She would've made a snippy reply back but couldn't find any words. She seemed like she was in a daze as thoughts clouded her mind. 'How would he know they don't treat me like a princess? Is there some sort of sign that says I'm bad? Am I not good enough to be a princess?' she thought to herself sadly.

Adam wasn't one to care about a small child or anyone. He was all about taking care of himself. He rolled his eyes bending down and looking at the kid. "Don't cry..." he started. It wouldn't do to have her parents come thinking he had hurt her. That wouldn't do at all.

"How dare you! How dare you tell me what to do when you just insulted me!" Kali growled at him. She scrambled to her feet standing in front of him. She balled her right hand into a fist and with a smirk, punched him in his left eye. Placing her hands on her hips, she muttered a hmph before turning her back on him.

"Why you little brat!" Adam shouted out as he sat up. He heard the kid blow a raspberry before she turned around to face him.

"Serves you right thinking I would cry over something you said. Please, do you really think I care what you think?" she shot. She was doing a good job of pretending it hadn't bothered her. She'd have to find a place where no one could see her to cry. If her siblings saw her cry, they'd all make fun of her. She'd have to sneak off to her mother in hopes of comfort.

Adam was silent as he rose to his feet. She was brave, he'd give her that. Of course with her courage came a large load of foolishness and stupidity. Punching an adult one didn't know wasn't smart. He'd let it go for now. He might be able to find a way to use her. Perhaps he could use her as a spy or something, there was no doubt she had some charisma that might help him. He had a lot of work to do if he was going to get back to his home and raise Gargouille.

"You're brave but foolish. What if I was the type to kill little kids? What would you have done then?"

"You'd have to find a way to hold me first, unlike normal kids I'm a selfish magician. If I want to live, you can bet I'll live," she snapped back. He was getting on her nerves a little too much.
