Here's a random thread just to talk about a series of books I recently read and the movie that's just come out based on it, Eragon. I've read both books, and although I found the second book rather predictable I loved them both, and so when I hear they were making movies for them I just had to go and see it...
Now onto what I thought about the movie. I wasn't too happy with it, but I did enjoy it at the same time. I have to say this though, out of all movies I've seen so far that have been made based on a books that I have read, it was the worst one ever. I just hope the second movie makes up for all the mistakes they made in the first, though with all that they left out in the first I'm not too hopeful. What does everyone else think? Especially those who have read the book.
Those who haven't read the book I value your input also. My sister and one of her friends haven't read the books yet, and they loathed the movie, and said it had no point or story line... I'd agree, but I had the book running through my head as I watched it, so I put the missing parts into the movie, but do you agree with her? Or do you have other thoughts concurring it.
Discuss! And please, if you wish to put in spoilers, make sure it's in white text.

I have to agree. That was the best Book to Movie I've seen so far. And of course they couldn't. I mean, they didn't even get the last battle right, they left out the Werecat, they left out the plot, they made the characters look different to what they were in the book. (Elf girl was meant to hav black hair, Borm(Sp?) was white hair'd) So yeah. Of course they couldn't, I mean why wouldn't they screw that up when they've screwed everything else up. ^^ xd

I haven't seen the movie, but you guys aren't encouraging me any! *laughs* Oh well, even with just the commercials, I had a feeling it wasn't going to be all that good. I'm sure I'll watch it anyway...eventually.
I've only read the first book. I liked it until the girl (elf) came in and then it was a bit iffy for me. Eragon started worrying about her constantly and I was like "....."
It was predictable where that relationship was going to end up and I hate that. Guy meets girl and they fall in love. (Unless there was a twist and they somehow don't in the second book???) Every time?! It drives me batty; I hate it when the protagonist goes for the first member of the opposite sex they see... stressed
Apparently, males and females are incapable of being just friends. stare
Anyway! Anyway! Anyway! *waves hand dismissively*
There's going to be a second movie?

Anyway! Anyway! *waves hand dismissively* There's going to be a second movie? First off, yeah, there's going to be a second movie since there's a second book, and then there'll be a third and final movie since the series of books is a trilogy. As for the second book, read it anyway, it's predictable as hell, but it is fun to red, and for your sanity, no the guy and girl don't get together, if anything she flat out tells him that he's a kid and has zero chance with her, if they get together anyway, we'll find out in the third and final book whenever that comes out. ^^
