Hey! I was wondering how many of you were Hitchikers fans. Personally, I love the books, radio sieres, TV show and movie, and dougles adams helped write some of the episodes of the old sieres.
also, theres a reference in "the christmas invasion"
Doctor: Not bad for a man in his Jim Jams. Very arthur dent, now theres a nice man....

Hahah, I'm sure there's quite a few! I'm in the guide guild as well, think I've seen you there. Got a huge surprise when the Doctor mentioned Arthur Dent!

Do you really have to ask? *Points to sig.*
I'm also a member of H2G2, though I've not been on there in quite some time. I really should get back to it.

Yeah, I noticed that pretty quickly. ^^ It's really, and I mean, /really/ dead. Like 6 feet under. I think most of the hype happened with the movie stuff... and then it petered out a bit, since all the books were already released....

There are plenty of references between the two....
I, for one, love the Innacurately Titled Hitchhiker's Trilogy, as well s the games and movies based off of it (I haven't heard the radio drama yet). Though, as far as Adam's work is concerned, I'm a bigger fan for Dirk Gently's Hollistic Detective Agency.

Ceribri It's really, and I mean, /really/ dead. Like 6 feet under. I think most of the hype happened with the movie stuff... and then it petered out a bit, since all the books were already released.... It's a shame really, I rather liked it on there. I was a proud member of the Thingite movement and everything. Even wrote a couple of entries, though they weren't brilliant.

There's just not enough enthusiasm....

Unless there's new stuff coming out, it's hard to keep a conversation going.

Since this is Hitchhikers chatter instead of Who chatter I'm going to move it into the Chatterbox forum tomorrow - but feel free to keep chatting.
On a hitchhikers note, I think I preferred the older TV series version to the newer movie version, though they were both fun. My dad argues that nothing can beat the radio version... I kinda have to agree with him, for now.
I also loved playing the Starship Titanic game. Weird but fun.

I liked the TV series best, but probably for a bizarre reason. Jack May played the waiter at the Restaurant at the End of the Universe - I thought he was great ever since he did the voice of Igor in "Count Duckula".
I have four of the books in one volume, but lent it to someone at work about 2 years ago smile "Mostly Harmless" is probably kicking around somewhere.
I was particularly impressed when I was younger, playing "Elite" for the BBC micro. The first couple of ratings you get before you become good at shooting pirates etc. are "Harmless" and "Mostly Harmless" biggrin
