Many of us seem to love browsing the used book stores for cheap previously read books but which do you prefer when buying new books?
I personally prefer Borders since it has a bigger manga section than the Barnes & Noble close to me and I'm always able to find whatever I'm looking for there.

I have yet to find a Barnes and Nobles around where I live, so...Borders.
I also like Best Bargain Books, though. 3nodding The books are new; they're just marked 60% off all the time. ($4 manga~)

Barnes and Noble is too far of a drive for me to go there on any sort of regular basis. The only time I've been in one was coincidence because it just happened to be next to the Newport Aquarium. After the sharks it was time for books! I did like that I found the Utada CD I had been looking for there, woo-hoo!
I guess I'll have to go with Borders. There's an outlet that's almost the same distance as the Borders I usually visit and their prices are wonderfully cheap. The selection isn't much since it's a small store, but I have found some gems there.

I've never lived close to a Borders, and now I don't live anywhere near a Barnes and Noble either, so it's Books A Million for me. ::shrug:: I do like Barnes and Noble (even though I can't compare it to Borders). In my old town it was one of -the- hang out places, second only to a trendier coffee shop a couple blocks away. I suppose that's a little pathetic, but I think it's pretty neat that the local 'tavern' was a bookstore.

There isn't a Borders near me for me to compare Barnes & Noble to either. But I do like my Barnes, they have chairs were you can sit and read manga instead of buying it. xp

I'm close to both, and I actually like them about equally. I usually have to think twice at the checkout so I can remember which club card to use.

I like to check the Half Price Books first, but Borders is my favorite full price book store. Not only does Barns and Nobel have a slimmer selection of the books I'm into, but I don't like the way that books from there smell...whereas I love the way Borders books smell...mmmm....new book...yum

I never thought about distance when considering which store to go to since my Borders and Barnes & Noble are literally right across the street from each other.
I haven't found any good discount book stores near me so I kinda have to choose between Borders or Barnes &Noble.

Well, I prefer Barnes and Noble, just becuase it's familiar. I just rarely ever get to a book store and more often thennot I go to the one in my town which is like, a fairly low class store. But, I'll take any book store really. As long as I get my lovely books! and then, there's this little use dbook store a few blocks away from me but I got kicked out of there... sweatdrop They thought I stole a book or some crap like that. Which I didn't, I just hid it behind another book so that I could get it later when I had more money.... neutral

No preference, sometimes it depends on who I'm with, or where I have gift cards, or even who I want to talk to or what I feel like drinking as I read.

I personally like Borders better. They tend to have a better selection of the books I buy. Plus, the Barnes nearest to me is farther away than the Borders.

Borders is better for graphic novels such as manga and comics, but Barnes & Noble is better for everything else, at least around here. Both are good in their own ways, but overall I prefer B&N. Especially the classics. :3
