The buckskin stallion had had so much heartbreak in his life. He had suffered terribly for the short life he led. Lowering his nose to the cold snow that was melting ever so slowly, he licked it a bit, taking in some of the white scenery.
He lifted his head, water dripping from his muzzle and his eyes holding the sadness he felt.
Traveling was always hard. But now he carried a burden he could only tell himself.

King was trudging through the snow, his last in counter with one of his grandbabies was not how he liked to start first impressions. She really was a rude disrespectful little thing wasn’t she? Where had the discipline gone oh where...
Kings thought was cut off when a familiar scent caught his nose. He loamed silently now hardly making a noise as he crunched through the snow. Dead ahead of him the familiar orange and black of his son appeared. King was over joyed to see Micah he let out a heart felt whinny and slowly moved towards him some more.

Micah's head turned, and he looked over to see the broad figure that had sired him. Given him life. Smiling, but ever so gently, he whinnied back. It wasnt a happy whinny.. It wasnt a sad one either, but it was really just his feelings, masked by what was right and what he should act like.
Trotting over to his father, he nuzzled the old stallion in a friendly embrace, his eyes closing as he breathed in his fathers familiar scent.
"If it isn't the King of the teepee." He said, offering another soft smile.

" Ohh I’m not king of the teepee any more Micah, My gene has been passed so I’m sure it is you who is now"
He smiled and nuzzled Micah back. King was short compared to Micah, and he was glad that Micah had grown to be so tall. King indeed was broad but if they ever ha a height contest the only thing he could win against would be a flutter.
" So how have you been Kiddo?.. where’s your mate i thought i would be able to finally meet her"
He frowned and looked around, unaware of what Micah had gone through and was still going through. But soon king could feel that something wasn’t right and he looked at Micah and could see it in his eyes.. Sorrow. King did not know what had happened and he just looked at Micah concerned.

"Me? The King of the Teepee? Oh father, how you do jest. No, it is still with you, and in the reach of your teeth." He said smiling.
Twitching his feet nervously in place, he looked up to his father. He hadnt realized he'd outgrown him. It wasnt much of a feat as his father was naturally smaller, but he had never noticed before.
"Not so well father.. as a matter of fact.." His sad eyes revealed themselves as he spoke now.
"She left me dad.. another one.. "

" Well I’m an elder now, I’m too old to be king of the teepee"
He nudged and listened to Micah. His tone saddened and he looked as if he was going to choke up. King offered a kind smile and shining gleam kept in his old eyes. He thought for a moment and then offered what he had to say,
" Well Micah don't worry. It took me a while before i found your mother, and I went through a few mares myself until I found her. I remember this one mare. She was so dark, her eyes captured my heart but it wasn’t meant to be and i moved on. You just have to remember the grass is always greener on the other side and that one mare, the perfect mare could be around the bend. You just have to keep searching."

Micah was bitter. How could someone do this to him? How could someone keep continuosly hurting him? Snorting, he looked angry, and he shook his head furiously. Not at his father, but to the feeling that resided in his belly like a pile of dirt.
"Why. Why me?! I dont understand, Im not mean, pushy, or any of what the other stallions are, and yet I suffer from this, and I seem to be the only one. Forgive me for being bitter.. But Im afraid I dont understand."
He said stomping his hooves.

" you know Micah I do understand and you are not the only one who feels like you. I'm sure if you ask spice how she feels right now about relationships she would tell you many things you didn’t think she felt. Recently a stallion she loved left her and she fells like she can’t find another one, i told her the same thing I told you and in time I'm sure you'll both find some one."
He paused and then again spoke,
" I use to be like you, bitter, cold.. I really didn’t want anything to do with any one. But after a time you have to let go. Its usually in not looking that you find the one mate you've been searching for."
King didn’t expect Micah to understand now, or to feel better right away. It could take a while before Micah rethought his fathers words over. As King thought it seemed like Micah was trying to compete with his sister Anweaty. She had a mate and children, but Micah had none and was perhaps jealous at this. What ever the case it didn’t matter at the moment, what mattered was making Micah feel better.

He was indeed jealous of his sister. The spiteful mare with handfuls of spawn and a mate that looked like Spawn, but a mate none-the-less.
Glancing at his father, he truly listened, but he didnt comprehend yet, and odds are, he wouldnt for awhile. Sighing he shook his head.
"Father.. Has Spice been left four times in a row? Has she lost everything, so close to the finish line?"
He wasnt being mean, nor selfish, but practical. He had suffered, and the mare had suffered, but SPice hadnt suffered as much as he.

" well Micah That I am unsure of, i know about as much as you do about her past, and neither of us know the horrors that could lie in it. So it is not for me to say who has suffered more. But i can say this, i know both of you will move on, you will find mates and have foals. It is merely a matter of time"
Ah time, precious time. King's time here was all but half left more or less. Micah still had many years ahead of him, adventures awaited him and things to be learnt. King grew sad that such a handsome stallion who he raised to have good tempers could not find a mate that would keep him.
" Perhaps it is not you at al Micah. Mares these days don't want to settle down i have noticed. Most of them are just looking for a one night stand. My advice to you is to go after an older female, one that is ready to settle down and you know will always love you"
Kings mate was younger then him considerably, but she was ready to settle down and was more than excited when he asked her to be his life mate.

He nodded, smiling a bit as he thought of his mother. He wanted a mare just like her.. And he would have one like her.
He found himself always settling, but never actually going for what he wanted.. Well after this heartbreak, it was proof that settling wasnt the kind of thing he needed.
Chaser was a flitty, annoying mare, whom he took under the belief that someone might actually like him.. But not again..
"Thanks father.. I will take the advice. You know, you should be a counselor. You are awfully good at this stuff."

King gleamed and was happy he could relieve some of the anger and bitterness Micah held. He nudges his shoulder lightly and said,
" Not a problem that’s what I’m here for. And I’m afraid I would only be able to offer advice to my kin. Besides you'll find a good one.. and remember to discipline your kids... don’t need any more of these flighty mares and stallions about"
He jested and again nudged his sons shoulder. How odd was it that they really didn’t get along when he was younger but now they did. It just showed how much Micah had matured and most likely realized the lessons king had given him when he was young might had been hard and unbearable at times, but was for the better and would help shape who he became and what type of Soquili he was in the future.

Micah smiled, and nudged his father lovingly. How long it had been, and Micah stopped feeling sorry for himself, which he always hated to do, and finally remembered how he had missed his father.
"How long it was!" He said, jumping in the snow.
"How is everyone?"

King laugh full heartedly as he seen his son jump in the snow like a foal and thought for a moment. How long ago was that... and exactly how was every one. he hadn’t talked to Anweaty for a while, nor Tetyawna. spice had been gone for some time so it was really only him, Isi and Libra.
" Well your mother and two sisters have been missing in action for a while, and I’m good along with Libra and Isi. So everything has been alright on my end. How are your fellow teepee and herd mates doing?"

"MIA? Well thats not nice at all.. Of course, Esper knows of MIA."
He said, thinking of his palomino teepeemate. She had fallen for a stallion that seemed to just never be around. He was aroud when she needed him most, but he saw her longing and sad as she stared out a tthe river, watching the young horse lovers.
"My teepee mates are fine.. Especially Mr.French, better known as Jean-Claude. He has found love.. Which I deemed it impossible for any mare to really want to be around him, but he seems to have found someone as sad as he.. Esper, is sad.. And she tries to content herself with her wolf, Flit, but I know she longs for children.. I think she believes it will bring Tai out of hiding all the time."
