This one was based off the book "To Kill a Mocking Bird"

I was forced to either draw (which I can't do) or write a poem... and so here it is.

All eyes on me
Seeing nothing but my skin
They won’t hear my plea
To them I’m lies and sin

I am guilty I am lowly
Because I have color in my skin

They drink her lies like water
She is false yet they sympathize
They believe her words and falter
For her skin is lighter than mine

There’s one man who fights for me
He’ll show her words are lies
A revolution will begin
Though I am fated still, to die

Wow, you really have a talent! What's the book about? Racism?

^-^ Thanks, I kinda just write what comes in my head.

3nodding Most of it is. I don't really think it has one set subject though, it's mostly about how a girl grew up in those times.

I think on your second stanza there should be four lines like all the others :/
Its a great poem without a doubt.
Im a beginner at this so dont get mad .-.;
Something like.... (Dont take offense I just like to play off of others poems aswell... No offense about you at all.)
I am guilty I am lowly
Because I have color in my skin
The look at me as unholy
Theres no chance to win

P.S. I love the book its amazing and once again its an awesome poem

I've read that book. Not a bad book, but it kinda drags on... oh, right, the poem. sweatdrop

Well, I see who you're trying to portray, but I don't think that's really the guy's attitude, don't you think? I don't think he was this... angry. Or maybe he was? It's been a while...

The word choice and flow is pleasing to the eyes, and the reader can totally feel for the mind of the innocent man. But a couple times, it doesn't ryhme exactly.

Cool poem, and the fact that I've read the book means that I can further connect with it. 3nodding
