 name keita (meaning "forest")
spirit late autumn
gender female
hair wild and curly, an old bird's nest. full of pine needles, twigs, red/yellow/brown leaves, and her hair is a variety of fall colours from the palest of yellows to the deepest of reds. no idea where these bits of debris come from, or how they find their way back even when her guardian pulls them out.
skin tan. a deep, rich honey-hued glow. her hands and feet, however, are dipped in white (the coming of winter) so they appear very very pale - almost completely colourless.
eyes the colour of a sunset. literally. her eyes change colour as they approach the pupil. mostly consisting of varying shades of purple, red, yellow and dark blue.
prominent features elongated, pointed ears
abilities in the beginning, Keita only exhibits an uncommon bond with animals. she forms a particular bond with a squirrel that Cael (her guardian) names Devlin for "heroic" as the squirrel takes on the role of Keita's protector. as she grows into her abilities at an early age, however, she has the ability to either give a person or animal a second wind (extra energy) or to influence them into a sort of hibernating state.
personality Keita is almost silent until she reaches her teenage years. she's so quiet as a toddler that Cael fears for some time that she will never speak, that she is mute, but is comforted when she speaks his name out suddenly one day when she is lost in a park. the child simply prefers to observe and nurture rather than speak out. she hums, often, but especially around small animals, who are her passion. even at a young age, Keita exhibits a mothering nature to all things. her spirit is the final hope for some animals, the last weeks or days of warm weather before an eternal darkness of hibernation or a long hard season of little food. her caring is almost despairing in the way that it is so sweet and gentle.
body as a child, Keita's body is like any other active little person's body type would be. she is thin, lithe, but strong as she enjoys climbing trees and running races with the wind. as a teenager, she grows into a more adult body type, blossoming earlier into a narrow hour glass figure. she is still lithe and muscular, but obviously suited for nurturing.
dress sense a sort of stylized greek/roman wear, Keita's clothing choices are very heavily inspired by clothes on might see on the goddess Artemis. references will make this a little clearer. she prefers creams as well as dark and rich reds, greens and browns.
likes cool weather (but not too cool), animals (specifically squirrels, deer and fox), drawing, reading, racing the wind, climbing trees, collecting nuts and stones, calming Cael down, Devlin, plush animals
dislikes extreme heat, barren lands, winter (she finds it boring), Cael having nightmares, Devlin leaving for too long, people who try to force her to talk, people who try to race her

despises bikes, tornados, museums (except the natural history type), rudeness, lightwood furniture
personality from the start, cael is a typical twenty something bachelor. he enjoys being outdoors, he enjoys good music and good company. he's a man's man, but is no stranger to entertaining ladies. he's literally the stereotypical gentleman, but rough around the edges. but down deep, cael is a scared and tainted individual. he has lived for decades without aging, but has no idea where he came from. one day, he opened his eyes and he was walking the street of a big city in gaia. that was in 1884. since then, cael has used his killer intuition to put money in the stock market, which he lives off of between jobs. the man does change jobs often, unfortunately, as he doesn't like to draw attention to his explainable immortality.
history unknown to him, cael is actually a cast-aside guardian angel. he fell in love with his charge, saving her (or him, as angels are usually seen as being sexless so who's to say who he/she fell for, but for our purposes it was a her as cael is decidedly heterosexual) numerous times before he was found out. immediately, cael was cast down from heaven, but mercy was taken upon him and he lost all knowledge of his previous life. death took his charge, and all returned to normal. but whether by some slight of a higher being, or merely a rougher side of his punishment, cael's immortality remained. and he has no idea why.
while he could surely not bring himself to commit suicide, the man did gain somewhat of a reckless nature. in the 1920s, he ran with what some would consider "the wrong crowd". this sort of behavior only escalated to the '80s, when cael was self-employed as a hitman and a spy. he settled down soon after, growing depressed and forlorn about his passionless life. bouncing around gaia as a guitar player/vocalist performer, he could find naught to live for, spurring friends and loved ones lest they discover his curse - afraid some would mistake it as a gift. cael has seen numerous loved ones die, people he had considered family, and after over a hundred years, the fun of chance had died.
with the arrival of keita, however, he had reason to focus his loving nature on a being other than a dog that would die. he knew keita was special, knew he was given her for a reason, and treasured her more than his own life. with her, he settled down in a small apartment on the outskirts of the city where he works in a local gym as a rock-climbing coach.
